Fantastic experience: Started my lessons in September with john at yolo ,probably the best choice in driving school I could of picked, john was a pleasure to be learnt by ,any learnt me how to drive properly in no time ,by April I passed first time with no driving faults what so ever, just like to say to anyone out there who wants to learn to drive you need to learn with yolo , they are the best ,thanks john for everything mitchelle

Fantastic experience: Having started with zero knowledge of how to drive a manual car in September 2024, I passed first time with YOLO and my instructor, Gordon, in February 2025, with just the two minor faults at Durham. Gordon is an instructor who is always very patient, calm, and understanding and, personally, very quickly gave me the confidence and knowledge to press on with passing my test. Gordon was also extremely helpful and went out of his way to help me book an earlier driving test having had frustrations of random cancellations and date changes. Without the excellent guidance and practical help from Gordon I wouldn’t have been ready to take my test so soon. I’d highly recommend anyone to Gordon as you’re in safe hands and you’ll have a reliable, friendly, trustworthy, and an experienced instructor that knows when to safely step in but will also give you the opportunities and motivation to learn. Thank you again Gordon, I’ll definitely miss our weekly drives and I’ll look out for you when I’m on the roads.

Fantastic experience: Honestly could not recommend these guys enough! If it wasn’t for my instructor I would’ve given up a long time ago. Such a friendly environment and the support is amazing. They’re willing to go out of their way just to accommodate you and make sure you get there. 100% wouldn’t hesitate to start learning with them

Negative experience: Absolutely Rude and animal behaviour from YOLO driving school. Had a speak with the YOLO driving school (was the one who picked when I rang). He straight away told me I would take the car and crash it, when I said I am from India and I am trying to book a few classes for driving lessons and then asked me to get another rental car and then they would provide me with an instructor cause they don't trust me. I am really saddened by such unprofessional behaviours. Would never call or be willing to learn under such an instructor.

Fantastic experience: I spent 23 months with my instructor at YOLO learning to drive and I can honestly say I couldn’t have done it without him - for obvious reasons - but also because of his teaching ethic. I was made to work hard every lesson and it paid off as I passed my driving test first time with only two minor faults. I learned so much from my instructor and I am now a confident and safe driver. He trusted my ability and pushed me to be my best. I can’t recommend the team at YOLO enough - it’s been an absolute pleasure.

YOLO also provide extra resources like a free theory app, instructional videos, and a service to book test cancellations. I had 3 instructors before YOLO, over 40+ hrs and believed I would never pass but passed 2nd time with John :)

Negative experience: Warning!!! Worst experience and waste of money. If you like being robbed of your time and money to your own face this company is perfect for you. not only is the trainer useless, but if you don’t nail everything first time you’ll get shouted at, not only do you not learn anything in your 20hours worth of lessons. Your safety is put at risk when I’m trying to focus on the road and the trainer is shoving his phone in your face to talk about other cars he owns. Multiple times the trainer has not reacted to what’s going on around him. If you wonder why you can get lessons fast it’s cause everyone knows there a scam or the trainee flew out the windscreen after looking at his phone. Learn from our mistakes

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with one of the instructors at yolo driving. I wasted hundreds of pounds. I started my lessons and was not taught anything in the few months I was learning. I wasn’t shown how to adjust my mirrors or how to do any of the basic checks before moving off. I was only ever took on the same route every lesson. My instructor was doing everything for me and didn’t even show me how to use the hand break. While on my lessons my instructor would try and show me pictures on his phone while I was trying to concentrate on driving. I was took on the A19 on my very first lesson when I had never even drove a car before. I was never taught the basic rules of the road while on my lessons he would just chat about random things. He would also get annoyed if I made a mistake instead of helping me fix it. I have started learning with a new company and I learned more in my first lesson than I ever did with yolo driving . I’m not sure if I just had a bad Instuctor but I would not recommend yolo driving at all.
