Fantastic experience: Well steve came to my rescue when my daughter went to uni . Her driving instructor who she had been with since may . Messaged me saying he couldn't do the time we needed and couldn't do Fridays anymore. Not wanting her to give up we searched instructors again. Never thought swapping automatic would cause so much issues. But the guys at first choice Messaged back after a recommendation from mom's friend jane. We started November. My daughters confidence grew she was happy and comfortable with steve. I felt I could reach out and ask for updates. But may was hard with uni placement steve helped us massively on a few Saturdays which he doesn't usually work. Coming home Friday 24th may from uni and placement. Really doubting her self on Saturdays lesson I yet again reached out to steve. He was great supportive and reassuring . She did it 30th may passed first try. Highly recommended steve to many people looking. So don't be afraid great work 1st choice driving academy. Happy mom

Fantastic experience: After trying my luck with the comedic large chain driving schools, I thought I’d give Phil from 1st Choice a try. Safe to say it was a brilliant decision. It’s been a pleasure to learn from him plus he’s brilliant company. Lovely car too. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Positive experience: Phil was nice at the start, I paid on time and did 2 lessons a week, rarely cancelled, was with him for 16 months. His attitude towards me changed, when I wanted to take my test and practice specific manevours that I was not that confident with and was pretty weak in. The major blow came, when I was threatened harshly with the DVLA, with him stating firmly that he would advise the DVLA that it was against his advice, that he would not lone the car for the test. (I had done nothing to upset this man.) He left me shaken and upset. He often had holidays where I worked around his long absences, to practice again. I decided to cut my ties against his wishes and found another instructor, as he left me feeling incapable, within less than 2 months I passed my test and have been driving ever since. Best decision of my life , my confidence after Phil was really shattered and everyone noticed and the new instructor. She built me back to where I was before I met Phil to take lessons. It's lovely to see so many happy people pass with Phil, but the reality is this wasn't my experience and I am pretty sure he remembers who I am. My review is 100% truth. There is no pay off for me here, just wanted to show a different side to other peoples experiences that were happy. Truth be told I have wanted to write this review for sometime.

Fantastic experience: My mum started learning to drive with Phil late last year. She said Phil is easy to get on with, makes you feel confident in your driving ability, very reassuring if you are nervous and gave her confidence that she could pass her test. She passed first time and couldn’t recommend him enough. Great driving instructor!

Fantastic experience: Phil is by far the best instructor I have had the pleasure of knowing over the past thirty years since my first lesson aged 17 back in 1993. I've had loads of instructors over these past thirty years and none was as good as Phil who passed me this week after a seven year break. I have no qualms about recommending Phil and 1st Choice to the general public, Phil is Professional, knowledgeable, Patient and will get you passed. Thank you Phil for all you have done for me these past few weeks.

Fantastic experience: Passed my driving test with one minor yesterday thanks to Phil. After a few dodgy experiences with other driving instructors I was starting to lose hope. But he really went above and beyond. Thank you 1st choice!

Fantastic experience: From the bottom of my heart, I cant thank Steve enough for his guidance and support over the last few months. I began learning how to drive over a year ago, which was then delayed due to a bad experience with a previous instructor from another driving academy. Steve is an exceptional Instructor, with a wealth of driving knowledge and an approach that only enhances your own self-confidence, which is vital when learning how to drive. Although I am ecstatic that I passed my driving test today, I am also sad that I wont have the pleasure of learning how to drive anymore with Steve. He really is a great guy and I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

Phil Durose was always so positive, polite and a fun instructor who explains everything in a simple way. There was no pressure learning to drive with him which helped to build up my confidence quickly. I passed on the first attempt with just 2 minors and it’s all thanks to Phil! He’s amazing! Very lovely person who is passionate about cars and driving. I had two driving instructors before Paul and after the first 10mins I knew he was going to be the one. Having driven for many years overseas, I found the thought having to start again and get my UK license more than overwhelming!
