Negative experience: I do not recommend this driving school at all! I booked a practical test for my daughter the day she passed her theory test. I rang Mr Driving School who said that they had a driving instructor available for the day of her test, (which was a cancellation), and the days leading up to it, and I paid my deposit. Today Corrine has sent me a text message saying that she is refunding my deposit with no explanation of why as I didn’t ask for it and she wished my daughter well in her driving test!? I have left countless messages and I rang just yesterday leaving a voicemail for her to get back to me to sort out the time and days of my daughter’s lessons, which she ignored. This would have been a massive inconvenience to us if we hadn’t been lucky enough to find another driving instructor recommended to us who is available for the test date. The way this driving school has behaved has shown them to be unprofessional, untrustworthy, and should be avoided. Can you imagine how disappointed my daughter would have been if we hadn’t found another driving instructor at such short notice. Parents out there, I suggest you think long and hard about using this company for your child. I eventually went with ‘Drive Johnson’. They were excellent. My daughter passed with flying colours! One minor!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test thanks to Matt, he has been a great help in improving both my skills and confidence, he has been very patient with me in the areas that I struggled with and has given me many tips that I will be using as I continue with my driving journey. If your looking for a nice, patient, understanding driving instructor, then Matts the man, couldn't have passed without him. Thank you Matt.

Fantastic experience: My experience from start to finish was brilliant. Anyone who wishes to do an intensive course, book yourself a course with Mr Driving School. The moment the deposit is paid, you are looked after well and true. I only needed 15 hours intensive due to my experience but during my course my instructor Chris realised I didn’t need as many and was dropped down to 10 hours, with my remaining hours getting refunded. I passed successfully today and I wouldn’t have done it without Chris and the amazing team at Mr Driving School. When my partner comes to pass, I will be booking with these. I recommend Mr Driving School you won’t go wrong.

Fantastic experience: I passed in a DAY!!! After not having lessons for almost 2 years, I decided to book a 26hr intensive course. I had little to no confidence on the road, but by day 2, Matt had me doing a mock test! He was extremely patient and knows exactly what each learner needs. By the day of the test I went in with only 24hrs experience ( a day! ) and passed! Matt then reassured me I could book a two hour lesson with him for extra experience on the road. It’s been an incredible experience and I would highly recommend to others! ⭐️

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Incredibly patient instructors, who help you learn all defensive driving techniques to not only help you pass but make you a safer driver. They also offer flexible hours which is helpful for lessons around work etc. Overall a very well ran business with friendly helpful instructors.

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my driving test today with Stephen as my driving Instructor. He makes you feel comfortable and gives you space to make mistake and learn. Professional, Patient and Punctual that's how I would describe him. "Do you want me to remind you" that's the phrase that he uses the most, rather than prompting every time, he lets you learn at your own pace and comfort. I would highly recommend MR Driving school and Stephen as your driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: After living so long without having passed my test, I was very keen to learn and pass - considering my age, I felt ashamed to be learning at the age I am. That said, from my first call with Corinne through to my lessons with Matt, they made me feel comfortable and provided a great learning experience. I’m quite a musical person and Matt ‘hooked’ into that giving me rhyming prompts so I remembered all the things needed (I still find myself using the rhymes even after I’ve passed :-)). After 20hrs, I did my course and passed my test first time. I will be forever thankful for the experience and lessons Matt provided and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to drive. After having negative experiences with other instructors in the past, I’m so glad I turned to Mr Driving School; this company is refreshingly professional and completely trustworthy. I booked 15 hours and my instructor was Matt. He was very calm, patient and his friendly approach helped build my confidence with driving which is ideal if like me, you’re a nervous driver. Fantastic experience: I was recommended to do the 30 hour course as I had never driven a car before and with Matt it was exactly what I needed to pass 1st time. The instructor is great, patient and will give you the confidence to be able to pass your driving test in a short amount of time and with a lower overall cost.

Negative experience: I paid £830 for a 25 hour intensive course for my son. Unfortunately, my son had to move back down south before he completed all his lessons. Matt refused to refund any money, and was happy to keep my payment for driving lessons that he had not provided (he quoted "Terms and Conditions" but there are none on his website!!). PAY AS YOU GO IS MY ADVICE, or go somewhere else!!

Fantastic experience: I booked a 25 hour intensive course with Matt. I had some experience of driving, but this was over 10 years ago and I had felt I had forgotten a lot. 25 hours was perfect for me and I passed the test first time. Matt was calm and really helped build up my confidence so I could feel comfortable driving on my own, without relying on constant instruction. We also covered extra manoeuvres and skills that are not required for the driving test, which has given me invaluable experience so that I am confident to drive after passing. Highly recommend this course with Matt.

Fantastic experience: I booked a 20 hour intensive course with Matt, I had done roughly 15 hours previously but felt I had totally forgotten everything as it was years ago. Matt was great at building my confidence up each lesson, he’s really calm and explains things in the easiest way possible. After just 20 hours over a 3 week period, I passed first time! I’d 100% recommend Matt, he was ace!!!

Fantastic experience: After becoming disillusioned with driving and dodgy instructors previously, I decided to start learning again, I found MR Driving School online and emailed a few questions with my situation and schedule, I received friendly replies and decided to proceed. Initially, I booked the 10 lesson intensive course, met Matt and we went over manoeuvres and familiarised me with the car, he made me feel comfortable and that I could relearn at my own pace. You can see his passion in wanting to produce safe drivers and he uses his vast experience to build you up at a pace you feel comfortable with. He recommended an additional 10 lessons which were definitely valuable, it would have been a bad move to leave it there, but after that he knew I was ready. I narrowly failed my first test, but since Matt came with me he was able to identify how we could improve for next time and we worked on it over 5 more lessons, he got me a fast second test and I passed with 2 minors. Matt was far better than I would have expected from an instructor based on my past experience and as a result of his tuition I know that I will be a safe and confident driver going forward. If you learn with him you can guarantee that you will be fully assured of yourself due to his meticulous teaching style. You will strengthen your weak points with care and refine your strengths. I can't praise Matt highly enough, on top of being a fantastic instructor, he's a really good guy and wants the best for you and though I'm elated to have passed my test, I'm sad that I won't have him by my side going forward.

Fantastic experience: I started learning when I was 17 and had a rubbish instructor who knocked my confidence so I gave it up as a bad job. 8 years later I finally decided to give it another go. Got in touch with Matt and booked in for a course. I'd not driven in 8 years and in 15 hours he got my confidence back up and I passed first time! Highly recommend to anyone!

Negative experience: The driving instructor was late all the time and dropped me 10 mins early when told him he said will give you time back very unprofessional I wasted £696 on course and not passed. Please guys stay away.

Negative experience: Yeah I'd use anyone else, got picked up for my assessment which had to be moved cos he forgot, and he was then late. The assessment went great he was polite and very friendly and made out the company was amazing and I'd pass in 4 months etc etc etc....... Picked the £899 package and told him I'd pay in installments and was hounded to pay the 1st one so I did, then I kept asking when can I have a lesson and I kept getting vaugue repsonses even though I told him when I was available, told him exaclty when I was available and no response for a week! And I'm just sitting and waiting to get started I need to pass asap! So I decided to ask for a refund and 3 days later no money, probably end up going to court, £179 of MY money just being kept.

Fantastic experience: Well, where do I start?... with a bottle of prosecco, because I’ve just passed my test after driving for 3 days with Mr Driving School. Before having lessons with Matt, I felt like I had no chance of securing my licence today. To say that my confidence was shattered is a huge understatement, but Matt soon changed that. Matt’s patience and calmness enabled me to build confidence and in doing so, I was able to fine tune my driving technique and knowledge. Matt has something that I have not found in any other instructor (and I’ve had quite a few over the years), empathy! He understands, that driving is nerve wracking for an inexperienced driver. Matt certainly work with you as an individual and offers a caring and understanding approach. Securing a licence will change my life, and I don’t think it would have been possible without Mr Driving School. If you want to pass in no time, ditch your impatient instructor and get on the road with Matt! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: I did a weeks intensive course with them, and they were amazing. He made me feel confident in my self and my driving ability. I passed first time, with one driving fault and I put it down to the high standard of learning I received. I would highly remcommed them, if you wanting great level of teaching.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test 1st time. I booked a 40 hour course and passed after 37 hours. I've had 4 different instructors over the years, but Martyn is by far the best. I had no convidence in the car and used to dread my driving lessons. But from the 1st lesson with Martyn I felt at ease, he never raised his voice once. He's a down to earth guy that you can have a laugh with and enjoy the experience of learning to drive. Thank you Martyn your a star xx

Negative experience: DO NOT USE!! UNRELIABLE AND DISGUSTING SERVICE... Booked a 25-50 hour intensive driving course with Matt over 3 weeks ago, was told i would receive 4 hour lessons for 5 days and use the balance until my test. called day before to arrange my first lesson and was asked to rearrange my lesson even though it was booked weeks in advance.... explained i had taken a week off work specially to do this and that i was on a time scale. in my work contract i had been given a certain amount of time to complete a course and have a practical test booked or i could lose my job. the morning of my first lesson i receive a pitiful text telling me he wanted to cancel. didn't even have the decency to call me! now i am at risk of losing my job and having to try and arrange another intensive course elsewhere..... please save your money and do not use this instructor!!!

Fantastic experience: Anyone looking to pass first time as i did, then i'd highly recomend mr driving school. Matt is a really nice bloke with a calm attitude & will take time in the lesson to talk about any worries or problems you might have behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: I started driving lessons when I turned 17 and have recently passed after 2 attempts. Driving has been quite a nerve racking experience, however Matt has been very patient all the way and I am looking forward to a lifetime of motoring.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test first time today after around 40 hours tuition with Matt at MR Driving School and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! Right from the beginning, Matt was continuously looking to find what worked best with me as an individual, rather than simply giving textbook driving lessons. As a nervous driver, I thought it would take much longer than it did to pass my test however Matt helped me keep my nerves under control and my confidence high. Driving lessons became something to look forward to through his friendly approach and at no stage did I feel rushed or unprepared to deal with situations on the road. I highly recommend getting in touch with Matt if you're looking to drive, especially if you're nervous!

Fantastic experience: When I called Matt I told him that I want to go on the 5+1 course as I needed the licence ASAP. Cheap, quick, I can drive anyway (I thought I can) so that is the best for me... Matt told me that he would assess my skills before he says yes or no. His answer politely stated that I would not be able to pass my test, as with the previous experience I took bad habits with myself so will need more than 10 hours, but no more than 20. Fortunately I listened to him and through the 20 hours got rid of my bad habits and earned the necessary skills to pass the test. Due to my work, family and the tight deadline I had several issues during the course, but Matt planned everything around my needs, even agreed to have my test in a different city where he never been, as he believes "AS AN INSTRUCTOR YOU HAVE TO TRAIN THE PEOPLE HOW TO DRIVE... NOT TO LEARN THE TEST ROUTES!!!" Matt is an instructor with real values! He loves his customers and his job and he trains with passion and patience. Thanks Matt!!!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday i finished an intensive driving 5 day 30 hour course with Matt, we started everyday at 8 am and finished at 4pm allowing for a couple of breaks throughout the day, matt picked me up at my home so i didn't need to worry about going to meet somewhere. I was a bit nervous at first and had put off doing this for about 20 years but matt quickly eased my nerves and started teaching me how to drive "correctly" and eco friendly saving fuel and showing me how to see any and all situations we came across making me a good all round driver. We didn't follow test routes as matt taught me how to drive on any road which puts me in good stead for my normal driving on any road in the country (an absolute must - you don't want to know how to drive on just a test route) . Matt broke the day into 30 minute segments where we would work on a particular skill before talking about what we had just done i found this extremely helpful and one of the best teaching methods for driving i have ever had (i have had many hours in the past with different instructors over the last 20 years) Each day flew by and my confidence surged until day 4 where i felt i had a bad day i thought i wasn't going to do well on the driving test on the next day - probably nerves kicking in i don't know but Matt once again put me at relative ease (as much as anyone can when your shaking in your boots :) ) On Friday morning the day of the test matt picked me up and we had a little drive about, matt didn't put any pressure on me and we did some last minute runs around Barnsley area following signs (independent driving) and doing a few manoeuvres before going to the test centre for the test and in all this time matt kept me confident that i was ready for the test. His confidence in me helped me give the drive of my life on my test. So after driving around Barnsley for 40 minutes we arrived back at the test centre and after pulling into one of the bays the instructor told me i had passed!!!!!!!!!!! Matt made this happen for me with his detailed and easy learning method, his explanations on what the driving examiner is looking for and reasons why we do what he teaches i only have good words for Matt and his teaching method and i feel more than confident in my own ability for driving on my own. IF you are on the fence and cant decide if an intensive course is for you (and the word intensive is a but misleading because it doesn't feel intensive at all) i would say go for it, it was the best decision i ever made. Fantastic experience: "I passed 1st time" From my first lesson i felt confident i had chosen the best driving instructor possible. Matt explained everything as we went along and always had time to recap what i had done well and what needed more attention. I was able to speak openly and confidently with Matt as he was always ready to answer questions and concerns i had. Matt let me learn to drive at my own pace and never pressured me into rushing into taking my test. Fantastic experience: I recently returned from University for good and decided it was time for me to start driving lessons again, after having failed previously when I was younger. I had a lot of suggestions for driving instructors from friends and colleagues, but decided to trust in the collective online reviews of MR Driving School and I was certainly wasn't disappointed. Matt offered a free consultation before undertaking lessons; this was a great way to start things off, and allowed us to discuss how we wanted to progress. Matt turned out to be a fantastic instructor, and was very thorough in his explanation of the techniques that allow you to pass the driving test. He has a calm demeanour, and a passion for not only ensuring you can pass your test, but also that you leave the experience as a safe user of the road. When I was younger and failed tests with another instructor it wasn't down to not being able to drive the car, it was down to not being competent enough with all the techniques required (which there are a lot!) to be confident enough to drive calmly on my test. As I had prepared properly with Matt, I had no problem in passing my test first time with him. He's getting busier too, so I'd get in there quick!

Fantastic experience: I was so nervous at first but I met matt and he was really friendly which made me feel loads better, he is very professional with lots of patience. He made lessons to work around rota's which is really good too, I would definitely recommend him to friends and family :)
