He is very knowledgable, patient, and great at explaining, even what I thought were “stupid questions”. Bill celebrated my achievements on the road and helped me improve any mistakes I made. Fantastic experience: A space has just opened up at Carlisle Driving School, so if you're looking to learn to drive you'd best take it up as soon as possible! I passed my test with flying colours thanks to Bill's informed, relaxed, and constructive method of teaching. Driving was something I was nervous about doing for a long time, but from lesson one, Bill was a patient and reliable instructor. From money troubles to nerves, he was understanding about it all. He didn't just teach me to drive to pass the test, he taught me to drive SAFELY. The banter along the way was just a bonus! Fantastic experience: Bill has been a truly excellent driving instructor. I was initially very nervous and anxious when learning to drive but Bill instantly put me at ease. He was extremely patient and he is very knowledgeable and very down to earth and friendly. When it was getting closer to my test Bill was excellent at boosting my confidence about me being able to pass and even when I was doubting myself he gave me the pep talk that i needed to settle my nerves and doubts. When I passed first time it was all thanks to Bill’s excellent tuition. If you are looking to learn to drive I would highly recommend Bill as your driving instructor. Bill is extremely knowledgeable and ensures that his students become competent and confident drivers in real-world situations, not just to pass their tests. Fantastic experience: After learning with other driving instructors in the past and not feeling much improvement, Bill almost instantly built up my confidence and really helped me understand driving. I got to grips with his teaching methods almost straight away. He has the patience’s of a saint, very easy going, even easier to talk to and really knows his stuff. I had never been in the driving seat of a car before and had no idea where to start. Bill was recommended by a friend and a family member. He is friendly, patient, reliable and flexible. He has great communication and upon me changing my working hours several times throughout my time learning with Bill, he adapted my lesson days and times without hesitation to suits my needs. I was very pleased to pass my test first time thanks to Bill.

Fantastic experience: When our daughter turned seventeen in April 2021, she was keen to learn to drive. Covid times finding an instructor wasn't easy. Luckily Bill was only one of two instructors that got back to her. Bill was flexible to fitting in lessons around her school timetable. Our daughter enjoyed learning to drive with Bill and today passed her test first time. While on lessons he’s patient and has great teaching techniques and lessons are always well planned. he’s very professional but also has great banter so lessons are always chill and never boring. Considering all the current covid procedures in place he’s following all the rules to make lessons as safe as possible. If you’re looking for a driving instructor Bill is your guy!

Fantastic experience: I have been with Bill since December 2019, he has been patient and had great communication throughout all lockdowns and Covid restrictions. Not only is he encouraging but is also great to chat to in the car and has helped boost my driving skills massively. Fantastic experience: I came across Carlisle Driver Training in a Google search. I reached out and Bill (the owner and nicest dude ever) responded right away. I explained that my foreign US driver’s licence would be expiring soon and that I urgently needed to pass my practical exam so that I would still be able to drive in this country. Bill was very accommodating and scheduled me in right away. The first lesson was more of an assessment and then afterwards we decided that I would take 4 more lessons to prepare me for the exam. Bill’s teaching style was awesome. He gave clear direction and explained things very thoroughly. He also nagged me (in a good way) about being sure to check my mirrors constantly. After driving for 28 years in America, I’m sure I got a little bit lazy about that. But with Bill’s guidance, my driving skills were completely refreshed. Thanks to Bill, I passed my practical exam on the first try. And I only had two minor faults. I can’t speak highly enough about Bill and Carlisle Driver Training. If you need a great driving instructor and prefer someone who is friendly but direct, then most definitely choose Bill!! I highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: After years of trying to learn to drive and not being able to pick it up due to nerves and lack of enthusiasm, taking lessons with Bill has been amazing. He is so friendly and patient, he helped me focus and keep me motivated with ice cream and stickers! As an extremely nervous learner driver, I have dreaded lessons for years. However Bill managed to not only teach me to drive and get me to pass first time, but I stopped dreading driving and actually enjoyed lessons with him. My lessons were such a laugh that I think I'll actually miss them, but I'm so thrilled that I've passed and can't wait to get out on the road now.
