Positive experience: Just ok.

Fantastic experience: Compared to other tests centres I’d say it’s my favourite one. Easy access, disabled parking and easy to find.

It’s a hard work to be a driving test examiner, they risk their lives every day to travel in students’ cars and even in instructors’ cars with double controls.

Fantastic experience: Ho avuto un bruttissima esperienza 6 mesi fa e ho deciso di cambiare il centro provando a Chippenham questa mattina ! Sono arrivata terrorizzata ,posso dire che mi sentivo proprio male e mi ritornava sempre in mente il primo test fallito che mi a lasciato davvero sconvolta nonostante siano passati 6 mesi ,purtroppo mi dispiace tantissimo ma non riesco ricordare il nome del esaminatore però appena sono salita in machina a subito cambiato il mio umore ! Non ho passato il test ,ho fallito ma non fa niente perché questo istruttore è stato così bravo ,così calmo che in un certo senso ho guadagnato di nuovo fiducia e sono convinta che la prossima volta andrà decisamente meglio ! Grazie Chippenham e spero davvero di poter ritornare presto !

Positive experience: Passed my driving test first time today at Chippenham. Test instructor was so clear and calm, made me feel at ease the entire test! The centre is a little confusing to find and I ended up going into a different part of the estate by accident beforehand. Just go straight down the main estate road all the way down to the end of the road until you have to turn left. My test was very early in the morning and the barrier was actually down 10 minutes before my test but they do come and lift it.

Fantastic experience: Great professionalism shown by Craig, the examiner. He made me feel at ease by being professional and friendly…makes the test safer and better, regardless of the test outcome

Negative experience: A lady with a strong accent,-hard to understand,- came for my sons driving test. He failed. She told he shouldnt have wait for the Bus infront,but there was a line there,where he wasnt allowed to drive over i think,so waiting was the right option .Also she told,he didnt wait on a stopsign,i even didnt see any stopsign there,he is a very good driver,i think she lied here,anything was absolutly wrong with that lady, very unfriendly too.Dont expect to pass,when u get her!!! Zero Stars!!!

Negative experience: Spent way too long here as my son repeatedly failed his test. I soon came to dread my next visit and his inability to get past the Bumpers Farm roundabout. Try Trowbridge if you can get a slot.

Negative experience: Took my friend there The examiner was Monica they way she looked at his licence photo and my friend for once I thought she is immigration officer she has strong accent and my friend being not a great speaking English made him even harder to understand and nervous my friend misunderstood her because she asked him to go and sit inside car he went to open bonnet cuz he thought she was gonna ask him about engine she went like what u doing go sit in the car tbh from that moment i said to my self no way he has no chance which I was right 30 minute later they came back and fail I wasn’t there at the time I took a walk when I came back she was gone already as he was the last book of the day my suggestion is I think she should welcome people more and rather then make people more nervous as they are already nervous she should try calm them as we all know we can make more mistakes if we are nervous I say she should not forget the day of her test I think

Fantastic experience: For those complaining about the instructors and one in particular. As a head doorman I deal with hundreds of people on an evening, and meet all sorts. Today I had an exam with Monica and have to say , she is one of the most likeable people I have come across and her professionalism is second to none . I was at ease from the first second and enjoyed every single minute of the exam. You DIDNT fail your exam because the lady chose to wear heels- you failed because you can’t drive yet . Well done me , well done Monica !!

Fantastic experience: Passed with Monica. She was reasonably strict but fair and ensured I felt at ease before the test began.

Fantastic experience: Passed with zero faults with Monica as my examiner. I found her to be very clear with instructions and put me at ease in the car throughout the test. I’m not a local but had practised some exam routes I found online and my test covered many of these roads. Plenty of hazards but nothing that can’t be handled with practice. I’d recommend Chippenham for anyone needing to find a test location away from home, given the current lack of availability for test slots. I came all the way from Croydon.

Negative experience: if you get monica then you have no chance, as friendly as she can be she faulted me for not indicating moving off when i did but i can't do anything about her decision so i just have to go with it

Fantastic experience: I took my ADI part 2 test here and can honestly say it was a great experience. The examiner, Lee, was very friendly and made me feel relaxed and gave very clear instructions. It was worth travelling 102 miles from Walsall as I couldn’t get a test locally due to all being fully booked.

Negative experience: I would not even bother going to the test centre full of complete jobworth I failed my test for going to slow overall but it said in the rules to reach speed limit if safe to do so and it was safe For one I was going round estates with cars either side For two doing 27 in 30 I thought that would be fine I traveled from London and left at 4.30 to do my test The lady who was the complete jobworth of a examiner was wearing two masks if your scared about COVID how comes she is an instructor Very rude could not hold a 2 second conversation Did not want to explain about the overall speed When I was there out of 11 people 1 person passed it just shows how they want no one to pass after such a long time of waiting No one would not do a test if they are not ready So there must be stats that the examiners follow here to pass 1 in every 11 Waste of time

Negative experience: I was assigned to the examiner Monica, straight away refused to go ahead with the test because there was dust on the dashboard of the car. Then abruptly ran off to their office. She probably thought she'd catch covid off of a dust particle, very wise woman and a bad experience. To put it simply, not going back there again. Money down the drain because of inconsistent covid rules and lack of empathy.

Negative experience: Don't go here alison was an ablouselt joke!

Negative experience: Staff was rude and unaccomadating. They showed up late then pointed out my Car had a slight flat that got pumped up immediately and they refused to continue with the test regardless. Kept blaming their iPads for not being able to carry on since it was too late. Even though, if the examiner showed up on time then there would've been no rush or stress when it came to the test it's self

Fantastic experience: It's a driving test center in Chippenham, friendly examiners though.

Negative experience: Didn't even get through the door instructor was rude told me to go home not even 1 star cost me 70 quid to get there and home

Negative experience: Absolutely appoled never going here again. My first one I was nervous but got told I could drive failed me on the first roundabout as I took to long to pull off due to my nervous. 2nd time was a joke Got my nervousness sorted felt confident this time around, I drove the hole test, thought that I had past no faults at all but she fail me on my mirrors!! But said I was a good drivers so what fail me with no miners!! 3rd time this time and was made to feel very nervous as he said the weather wasn't great and he might have to rebook I've waited months and taken time off work so didn't feel great about the situation at all to then be told I had failed on the first roundabout due to the speed of the traffic and the way the tester talked to me to be told you'll be back again no chance no wonder the pass rates are low here

Negative experience: Took my test today and got two serious faults for no reason. The woman (Monica) was rude, wore stilettos, complained about the car being dirty and I could barely understand her because her English was so bad. Despite all this, I drove perfectly but she directed me back to the test centre and gave me two serious faults for not waiting for a car, EVEN THOUGH that car was waiting for me - this was at a road with cars on both sides, so no one has priority. She lied that the car was moving - it wasn't. If it had been moving, I would have pulled in as there were spaces further up. The second one was at a mini roundabout in a very quiet council estate where I apparently went into the other side of the road which I did not. If you get her, don't expect to pass.

Fantastic experience: A long over due review. I had a poor experience once before which knocked my confidence, however, this time round I had an examiner called Craig. He was very patient, kind and made me feel at ease. Luckily I passed, but even if I didn’t, I would have felt confident to go back again.

Negative experience: Testing officer was a little abrupt, gave different decisions to previous testing officer, location not helpful.

Negative experience: A near perfect test, took one wrong lane on a roundabout which she couldn't fail me for so claimed I didn't use my mirrors and failed me anyway. She lied. £200 wasted that day on test and instructor fees and no hope of another test for months. Official complaint made.

Fantastic experience: Examiners are so nice! Prepare properly and you won't be disappointed !!!!!

Fantastic experience: It's a lovely place to sit and chat to numerous driving instructors while their students are having a test. There is free coffee and tea and access to toilets if you need a pit stop.

Negative experience: I had the worse experience of my life, the examinator was rude and impatient, don't come to this center

Negative experience: My son failed his test with 2 minors and I serious, when I spoke to the examiner (who had very poor English). She told me that my son was at a roundabout and could of gone 3 times but didn't, I asked if that was a reason to fail, she said, you would not like it if you were stuck in the traffic behind your son. I feel she had a target to meet and there was always going to find a reason to fail. It was really poor that she actually said my son was a very good driver.

Positive experience: Easy to find. Convenient amenities such as toilets and self catering kitchen.

Positive experience: Nice test centre, small kitchen area to make a drink, toilet and plenty of seating. However, some of the examiners are a different story. As everyone knows,you are likely to be very nervous taking your test, and possibly not at your best while you are nervous. So, you would expect the examiners to make an effort to minimize the amount of stress caused by them. Wrong. If anything, they seem to enjoy making people stressed even more. Yes, they have a job to do and don't want to distract the person that they are testing, but other test centres manage to do it, so why not Chippenham? Come on Chippenham examiners, we are all human and it doesn't cost anything to just smile as a start. Sorry to the few very good examiners at Chippenham who are splendid, but you don't get to choose your examiner, but you do get to choose your test centre.
