A1 Roadcraft

Fantastic experience: I've been to A1 Roadcraft various times over the years, and there is no other company I would recommend more. Forklift: My first experience with A1 Roadcraft was just after the first lockdown. With my work in the entertainment industry, all dried up, I decided to get my Counterbalance ticket. After phoning up and speaking with Deborah, she got me booked in for a 4 day course with Andy. Any questions I had she was able to answer and always a joy to speak to. Andy, my instructor, was brilliant. His teaching style is very black and white, which significantly helps in the way I learn. Driving Lessons: Prior to Covid 19, I was in the process of learning how to drive(Category B). I had an instructor who taught me before the lockdown. Unfortunately, after being told to book a test and that he would get me in for driving lessons again, he decided he didn't want to take the chance of getting Covid. Unfortunately, he made this decision only 3 days prior to my test in Dorchester. Me being in a bit of a panic, I gave Deborah a call, and she worked her magic and got me booked in with Pete. Pete was absolutely brilliant, with me not being behind the wheel for quite a few months. As you can imagine, i was a bit rusty! With short notice, Pete got me test ready and got me through my test. Travelling from Salisbury to Blandford, then to Dorchester. What a star! Towing Training: Fast forward a couple of years, I was asked to tow up to Wales. Given the fact I had never done towing before, I was a bit hesitant. Once again, Deborah saved the day. The same day I was due to go up to Wales, Deborah was able to get me booked in with Andy for a couple hours of training for me to get to grips with it. C+E Training: I've just done my C+E course with A1. As always, Deborah is an absolute star, taking care of everything and running a tight ship. Most of my training was done with Andy, who's is absolutely famnoal. His approach is clear and concise. Whilst also being calm and making you feel at ease. We also had a very good laugh at the same time. Andy also has the patience of a saint, which you definitely need when teaching me! During my course with A1, I had the pleasure of being taught my Bob for a day. Bob is also fantastic. A lovely bloke, very calm, friendly & also a good laugh. I would describe his teaching style as more belt and braces. If there's any remote chance the examiner might not be happy with something, he doesn't want you to do it. Unfortunately, with me driving for 3 years, I've picked up some habits(Palming etc) which he had to try to break out of me. Sorry Bob, you are brilliant. Summary: I would recommend A1 Roadcraft to absolutely anyone who needs any driver training. They don't bite, and you'll enjoy yourself along the way. Multiple members of my team will be coming here for their forklift training without a doubt. I genuinely couldn't thank them enough and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Needed a C1 course and test at very short notice. Deborah was very helpful and able to squeeze me at short notice and at a really good rate vs other providers in the area. She also managed to secure a DVSA test, at the A1 training centre, on the last day of the course. The course instructor Andy was a great instructor, very patient and extremely knowledgable - leading me to pass first time straight after the course. Many thanks to the team at A1, I'll definitely be back in the future if I meed additional entitlements.

Fantastic experience: I’m writing this review on the 17th of October 2024. I’ve just passed my C+E HGV mod 3B Test on the 16th of October 2024. The staff with friendly, knowledgeable supportive and in 20 hours got me up to the standard for passing my final drivers test first time round. I even enjoyed taking the test, which is something I rarely save regarding taking tests. In short, If you can get to Salisbury, pick A1 for your driving training

Fantastic experience: I took a C1 course with them. The experience and support of the whole helped me pass my test on first go with 9 hours of training. They were able give me support through signposting to training tools to get me through my theory tests as well. They could not have anything more.

Fantastic experience: Passed my Cat C first time today, the staff are absolutely brilliant, very welcoming and relax you from the moment you’re there. Bob was my main instructor and without him and his knowledge I wouldn’t have been able to do it, he’s very experienced and so professional. Adam and Andy are great too! And of course Deborah in the office. Great team! Would recommend highly to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I used A1 for my C1 driver training and test and passed first time, Andy my instructor brought years of specialist driving experience using a firm but fair attitude toward driver education. Would recommend for all, regardless of experience.

Fantastic experience: I contacted A1 Roadcraft back in August 2023 having been recommended to them by friends who'd used them for their own HGV lessons. The whole team at A1 including Deborah, Adam, Andy and Bob have been excellent from start to finish. Highly knowledgeable, supportive and only to happy to help, especially with a query regarding my existing PCV CPC situation. I needed to fit learning my Class 1 around my existing work and family commitments and A1 were very flexible and able to accomodate me with ease. I highly recommend A1 Roadcraft to anyone who wants to challenge themselves by obtaining their HGV licence.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, instructors all know what they are doing, having a lot of experience and knowledge between them. Very kind and supportive environment with no feeling of being forced or pressured into anything you feel uncomfortable about. Always happy to work around you both for timings of lessons and when out on the road, covering areas you feel you want to work on more. Would happily go with them again for lessons, and would recommend to anyone who asks for a great company to go with.

Fantastic experience: I have recently passed my Cat C with A1 Roadcraft. Adam was brave enough to guide me through a 4 day course. I am very grateful for his time and patience in getting me across the line on test day. Deborah also helped greatly in organising and booking my training and test's and ensuring all my paperwork was valid. Would highly recommend A1 Roacraft to anyone. Fantastic experience: Every single member of staff that I've interacted with at A1 RoadCraft has been fantastic and knowledgeable throughout my C+E training. It's in a great location in Salisbury also which is very easy to get to from close by or surrounding areas such as Bournemouth. The site itself is a large site with plenty of parking but also it gives you the chance to learn without the anxiety of being enclosed. Just an addition it's a nice friendly touch that tea and coffee is provided during breaks between training. I would most definitely recommend this center for learning to drive other vehicle's and add more categories to your license.

Fantastic experience: The A1 Roadcraft was recommended to me by a friend. It was a good decision. After passing the theory, everything went smoothly and quickly. It was also good to use two teachers because they focused on different aspects. I can recommend it

Fantastic experience: I went straight from car license to passing my C+E (Class1) driving test. The great service from staff when calling up to start, got through very fast and from first call was in a truck the week after. I had never sat in a truck before and Adam helped build confidence when the size is initially daunting. After one failed test (due to nerves) Adam really helped me work on what went wrong and I passed this on my next attempt. Bob and Andy were great also and helped me pass the reversing exercise first time with a lot of patience and great advice. I can’t recommend these guys enough!

Fantastic experience: Such a super service. The entire process was made so easy by the whole team, from booking, right through to the test. All instructors are very thorough and cover every aspect of driving whilst ensuring that sufficient hours are experienced before taking the test. I had 4 days of training before taking my Cat C test today which I passed with no driving faults all thanks to expertise at A1.

Fantastic experience: I learnt to drive with A1 road craft when I was 17 - they were awesome, I passed first time, it only seemed right I go back to them for my HGV! Had no idea what I was doing, so phoned up, asked a load of irritating questions, Deborah was amazing, took me through why I was doing it, what the best option was, told me how to sort my theory, what best training app to use for my theory and then to come back to them once I'd sorted all that - I was also massively surprised at what good value it was. Passed my theory and hazard awareness, phoned up, they got me in for an assessment, sorted me out with lessons, after 3 sessions, did my reverse test, main test and passed first time! The examiner was so lovely, at no point did I feel overwhelmed and he went out of his way to chat to me, make me feel at ease etc. A1's location is fab because there is a huge driving area on site so you can practise there, there's no pressure, the team are lovely, the instructors are very very experienced, kind and make you feel at ease. 110% recommend - thank you so much A1 for making my HGV such a positive enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: I have recently gone through and completed my C+E through A1 and the service has been nothing less than amazing, everyone is really nice and full of tonnes and tonnes of information, got me through my tests with help and guidance from all instructors, who are all as equally as knowledgeable as each other, couldn't recommend this place any higher. Fantastic experience: Big up A1 Roadcraft for being a great down to earth group of people and getting me through my class 1 and cpc i did my original car driving through them as well super helpful seriously if you’re looking for a good driving school hit them up.

Fantastic experience: I trained with A1 for my class 2 license and passed 1st time. I can’t speak highly enough of the training I received from Bob and Adam, they’re fantastic instructors and extremely knowledgeable, patient and very nice understanding guys who make you feel very at ease when training. The communication from Deborah is first class she keep you up to date with timings and arrangements for your lessons and test. Excuse the pun but A1 are certainly an A1 training company and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to do my class 1.

Fantastic experience: I did the Cat C+E course with A1 recently. I did have a few issues with my driving but with Aubrey gave me some expert advice which made me feel more confident; these guys are very friendly and take their time to ensure that you have the right instruction at the pace that you require.

Friendly, professional and extremely accomplished instructors along with great support staff make you feel relaxed, your business appreciated and offer everything necessary to get that licence. Fantastic experience: Great experience all round! Were able to provide C1+E (light truck and trailer) course which most others schools wouldn’t. Ideally located at the test centre. Bob the instructor was patient, calm and very knowledgeable. Definitely use them again!

Fantastic experience: Had a hgv2 refresher this weekend with Albury great guy was very relaxed and informative. They had all the health and safety precautions in place for covid 19 and a learnt something new whilst out on the road. Fantastic experience: When I passed my C1 Aubrey said it was a monumental achievement. I only had a matter of weeks to pass, I only had one chance and minimal childcare. If it was a monumental achievement it was only made possible by Aubrey and his team. They are so flexible, patient and kind and I am so grateful to them. The instructors, Andy and Bob, were good company, very professional and encouraging. I would definitely recommend A1 , especially if you’re a working mum! I cannot rate them highly enough!

Fantastic experience: Brill just done my cat c/class 2 passed first time with only 1 minor before I didn't have any experience driving anything bigger than a van and I will be going back to them soon for my C+E/ artic licence friendly inviting and what helps u do you're test in the same grounds and roads u have trained on I had Shane as my instructor he was very relaxed and helped u learn and any queries he would answer them or find out 5 star all round

Fantastic experience: I took my driving lessons with Aubrey in A1 Roadcraft Centre and I highly recommend them. Very professional and experienced. I learnt not only how to pass the test but to drive properly and safer. Excellent! With A1 Roadcraft Centre I passed in my test in the first attempt :) Tomé mis clases de conducción con Aubrey en A1 Roadcraft Centre y los recomiendo 100%. Son muy profesionales y experimentados. Aprendí a conducir no solo para pasar el test sino a conducir adecuada y seguramente en la vía. Excelente. Con A1 Roadcraft Centre pase mi examen en el primer intento :)
