Fantastic experience: Passed today with Links Driving School! Pleased to have continued Neil’s current test pass streak - I was number 7 in a row of passes! Neil is an excellent instructor. I had two instructors previously and wish Neil had taught me from the beginning. As an anxious driver who lacked confidence, it was reassuring to know that Neil would not let me complete a test unless he felt safe whilst I was driving and he thought I could pass. I wasted money with previous instructors who had a ‘just give it a go’ approach to teaching and the test. Neil actually teaches you to drive rather than just letting you ‘just give it a go.’ Also, Neil never shouts or gets upset if you make a mistake - as someone who beats herself up, Neil helped me to focus on not dwelling on the mistake but understanding how it happened and what to do to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Neil is a dedicated instructor, happy to help in anyway that he can, even now that I’ve passed he said he’s happy to take me through anything again if I need it - particularly motorway driving. That’s the end of my essay review - in conclusion he’s a fab instructor!

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend Neil. I had some refresher driving lessons with him having not driven for 10 years+. I was nervous when we started but I’m now calm and confident on the road. I’ve learnt a lot from Neil and I’m a much better and safer driver after having these lessons.

Fantastic experience: Neil was a great instructor who helped me to improve my level of driving. In particular he helped me to anticipate more and become a more proactive driver. Neil made sure that I wasn’t just “test ready” but ready to drive myself anywhere on any type of road once I’d past my test by doing a lesson on motorways and one on country roads. The lessons were always well structured and I learnt a lot every time I had a lesson with Neil. Fantastic experience: Neil was such a patient instructor. Despite being tempted to give up at times, Neil was the one who persuaded me to not give up and ultimately I would not have passed first time without him. Neil was ready to always be on hand to explain things whether how to complete a manoeuvre or insurance to get for practicing outside of lessons. The thing I found most beneficial was Neil's constant enthusiasm and wish for me to succeed in my driving. Knowing this helped spur me on further throughout my driving lessons. On the more social side, Neil is an instructor with whom you can always have a chat with and have a laugh. That's the great thing about his lessons, they are not just sitting in a car awkwardly for 90 minutes but rather constant engagement to ensure you stay switched on. Moreover, when Neil invited my mum in the car to see how a lesson looked like, she was full of praise for his way of explaining things and his positive personality. To sum up, Neil is a driving instructor who has a thorough knowledge of what a driver needs to do to gain confidence and have less pressure on their shoulders. I highly recommend Neil!

Fantastic experience: Neil is honestly a brilliant instructor, just passed first time despite being a very anxious driver. He is my second instructor that I had used and there was a considerable difference in the things that Neil has taught me and how he explains things in so much more detail. He really makes the manoeuvres and difficult areas of driving much easier. He has been really patient with me throughout the learning process and guiding me where needed. His website is also really useful and resourceful which really helps calm your nerves before the driving test as a lot of the extra information required is on his site. He has also helped me feel safe in the fact I should be able to drive confidently and independently going forwards. I would recommend Neil to anyone locally who is trying to pass their driving test. Fantastic experience: Neil taught our eldest how to drive. She is a very confident driver and passed her test on the first attempt. Neil not only ensures the learners are test ready, but gives them the benefit of his experience to make sure that they are safe drivers once out on the roads on their own. i would not hesitate to recommend Neil, and will add our second child to his waiting list once they are old enough. Fantastic experience: Had a really interesting and informative time with Neil, on a private trailer training session for a few hours. Covering hitchin and unhitching the trailer to the car, loading and security, driving along various types of road, and reversing with trailer. It has given me confidence to be able to manoeuvre and park a trailer. Using Neil's tools to help understand what is happening with the trailer and how it will react, made it possible to gain that confidence. Would heartily recommend Neil if you need to learn about driving with a trailer/caravan.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Neil and Links Driving School. After having failed my first test with a previous instructor, I had lost my confidence and was very anxious when driving. Fantastic experience: Today I did a 4 hour trailer safety session with Neil. He was brilliant; thorough, patient and really put me through my paces. I started the day never towing and left the session driving through towns, villages, motorways and getting to grips with reversing. Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend Neil to anyone who wants to be taught to drive safely, not just to pass their test . During the extended waiting times for a test, due to covid, Neil did not give my daughter unnecessary lessons. He used the time to cover things such as motorway driving. Once she had secured a cancellation appointment, Neil rearranged his workload to make sure he was able to give her lessons in the days immediately prior to her test. Due to a clash of tests, he couldn’t be there for the actual test but it was lovely to see that he was keen to see how she had got on and was just as delighted as us when she passed. That’s now both of my children now successfully passed first time with Neil.

Fantastic experience: I didn't find driving easy and wasn't confident in myself at all. Neil was so patient, helped me through my nerves and built my confidence up. It was along a journey for me but I passed the first time! It was all thanks to Neil's hard work and never giving up on me. He's the only driving instructor I would ever recommend. He teaching was top quality and couldn't fault it all.

Fantastic experience: I would give Neil @ links driving school a whole lot more stars where it possible. Back in 2016 I contacted dozens of driving schools as wanted to ensure that my then nearly 17 year old son would have the best possible start to motoring. Neil stood out from the crowd with his non 'salesly' approach where by success rate was not based on "quick pass records" but safety, which was a MUST on our selection criteria. Neil was also the highest qualified instructor out of all the local driving instructors, this being an added bonus. My older son passed his theory and driving tests (fairly quickly) first time with only 3 minor faults in 2017, younger one getting the same result (took a bit longer as not quite as confident as his big bro) few months ago. Both of them have turned out to be sensible and traffic aware drivers, which Neil no doubt had a big part in. I would highly recommend Links Driving School for anyone who is looking for great and not just an average driving tuition. I would suggest booking well ahead thoug as Neil's reputation keeps him in high demand and waiting list is 6 months +

Fantastic experience: I was terrified when I first got behind the wheel and I never thought I'd ever make it past a single lesson, but Neil was able to settle my nerves and increase my confidence in my ability to drive substantially. I couldn't of asked for a better Instructor. He is so easy to talk to, and I've had plenty of laughs with him during our many lessons. I am incredibly grateful to him for his vast knowledge and expertise of driving. I wish him all the best in the future and I'd recommend him to anyone 100%.

I started lessons as a extremely anxious new driver and Neil managed to calm my nerves and guide me to passing my driving test. He would only recommend the test if he thinks you are ready which I found increased my confidence when coming to taking the test.
