Had him since last summer for the last 6-7 months. Fantastic experience: I passed first time with this driving school, taking all my lessons with Terry. He is a skilled teacher who teaches to a very high standard and makes sure you are fully prepared to take the practical test. Joyce was great at organizing my lessons and always communicated clearly what was going on and with the upmost respect. Highly recommend pursuing lessons with this driving school to be successful in passing your test.

He is very committed and sets a high standard to the point the test seemed easy. Great service, very decent people and a pass, all in all a great experience. Fantastic experience: If you want to pass your driving test, this is the best school to go with. I passed first time with Terry, one of the best instructors out there. He is highly experienced and teaches you to reach his high standards, making the test easier. Although he may sometimes be strict, he has your best interests at heart and will do his very best to help you pass. Joyce was always helpful when organising my lessons and also had the utmost belief in my driving and always encouraged me to take more lessons to increase my passing chances. Negative experience: Absolutely awful. The guy made me cry on my second lesson telling me I was holding myself back and didn’t have the confidence to drive. Went on and passed first time after only 3 months with another instructor only thing that was holding me back was the instructors shitty attitude and lack of people skills. Go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Kenley school of motoring were extremely accommodating in fitting me in for lessons very close to my driving test. Joyce was very understanding and flexible. I was taught by Terry who was terrific, very calm and collected amd also quite stern which is a great attrubute in a driving instructor. When it came to my test, the test itself felt very natural and easy after spending a couple of weeks with Terry. Delighted to say I passed and would very much recommend Terry.

Negative experience: I would first like to say that my original instructor Chris was a great instructor and i was lucky to have him at the start. However the company is run terribly. Joyce the women who arranges your lessons is always rude and belittling, acting like she is doing you a favour and that its an inconvenience to book in a session, when after all this is a service, a paid service. As well as constant threatening to take your lesson slots away and giving them to someone else in the waiting list. On a personal experience, with tests being a struggle to book, I managed to get one 6 months away. I told Joyce the day I booked it and she said there was no conflict and I was booked in with Chris. When it came closer to the test i mentioned it to my instructor and he told me he was booked with someone else in a clashing slot. Joyce said i never informed them of the test (which i did) and then changed my instructor to Tony to see if he would want to take me for the test. He was rude and would slap my hands on the wheel to things he did not like that my previous instructor instilled in me (I guess that's the difference of teachers). He said I was not ready and i had to fight and fight for them to take me for the test. He made a comment when we got to the test site about how I probably should have pushed it back. I passed with two minors. He was quiet the whole way back. Awful company, some good and some terrible instructors. Be weary using a company like this when they do not value your custom.

Fantastic experience: Joyce & Terry were absolutely amazing, helped me out in a very short period of time and managed to schedule sessions to fit my schedule and exam test and I passed from first trial. Terry is definitely very strict and won’t let any small mistake slip but all of that will make you a better driver and pass your test easily. Definitely recommend 10/10

Fantastic experience: I was not test ready after 4 lessons with another instructor. Joyce and the Kenley School of Motoring came highly recommended and their teaching methods and tips were extremely useful and helped me to pass the exam my first time. The instructors here are both knowledgeable and very professional.

Negative experience: Joyce & Terry, I can’t explain how upset and angry I feel with the way you both handled my driving experience with Kenley motoring. Joyce, your planning and scheduling is terrible. You have to remember people have commitments outside of lessons, therefore shouldn’t be given such short notice beforehand. Terry, I found your teaching approach to be extremely intimidating, abrupt and sometimes rude. I had learnt you with for over a year and never had one comfortable or calm lesson. Additionally why would you think it is acceptable to encourage me to take 5 lessons in one week, just days leading up to the test, costing me over £200 to then tell me last minute that you’re not taking me on my test? You said I was unsafe to take the test but then suggested I could take it using my own car (knowing full well that I didn’t have that option). If you deemed me unsafe to take the test, then why would you suggest that? You showed up the next day without communicating to Joyce to confirm whether I wanted a lesson. I believe you are taking advantage of young learners for your own financial gain, it is appalling.

Fantastic experience: I have been having driving lessons with Kenley School of Motoring for around 6 months now and I've just passed my practical test. Thank you to Chris who has been a very patient instructor and has put in lots of effort to helping me pass my exam. Joyce has been very kind and has contacted us various times to ask how my driving lessons are going and what I could improve on. I have a full time job but this school has been very flexible and accommodating to my needs to ensure I was getting atleast one lesson a week. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to pass your exam and I'm extremely thankful for Chris and Joyce's support these last 6 months.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Joyce, she is very patient and kind and only ever wanted the best for me! Would 100% recommend, she teaches you the best technique from the start so that you are in perfect form for the test. I passed first time with her because of this! Fantastic experience: I had a good experience with my driving instructor Terry who guided me through all the necessary skills required to drive a car. Through his help, I managed to pass my exam on the first attempt over a learning period of around 4 months averaging around 2-3 hours a week. Overall, was a good experience and would recommend to locals looking to learn. I would also recommend booking a test around the same time/prior to booking your first lesson as in the current market, tests for nearby areas are only available for 4/5 months down the road (albeit there is a separate service for re-booking free of charge once your initial test is booked).

Fantastic experience: I contacted this school with some trepidation due to a horrendous experience with a so called driving instructor from the RED School of motoring franchise. The instructor from RED was very prompt to book 10 lessons at a suspiciously low £280 for my son and payment into his bank account in advance. Then came the excuses for last second lesson changes of start time or usually not being able to attend due to sickness/family matters/vehicle issues/cracked windscreens/panic attacks during lessons with other students/just not turning up/sinkholes opening up on the road/earthquakes etc.. you name it, as a result my son only managed 2 lessons with this instructor. It was a miracle that I managed to get the rest of my money back and yet this instructor even then offered to complete the rest of my sons lessons for free to make amends!!! I tried not to laugh!!!! With Kenley school of Motoring my faith in a decent honest motoring school has been restored.. Thank you both Joyce and to his instructor Chris who according to my son appears to be a very conscientious and knowledgeable instructor who is always prompt and on time for lessons. Chris was always very honest to let my son and (via Joyce) myself know promptly if there were any issues with his driving enabling this to be taken on board and worked on. This was most useful when I took him for a drive in my own car. My son was lucky in this respect and the extra practice is always useful but I do accept this isn’t always possible for some students. Also thank you to Joyce for her communication and providing feedback on lessons whether good or bad which is refreshing and necessary to hear. As a result my son passed first time with only one minor thanks to the staff at Kenley Motoring school!

No one could help me to get rid of my driving bad habits and prepare me for the test to pass with clean sheet result, like he did. And Joyce is the best to arrange for the lessons and take care of you. I sincerely owe these two for my success :)

Negative experience: My daughter has had a very negative experience with Joyce and the Kenley School of Motoring. She started driving lessons in Dec 22 with a test booked for June 22. It was very hard to book lessons as Joyce would never really book slots in advance but sometimes call up the night before to ask if my daughter was free the next morning. Joyce was very negative about my daughter’s driving and kept telling she needed to practise more at home even though we told her that wasn’t always possible and we would rather she had more lessons. It seemed that Joyce had decided my daughter wouldn’t pass several months before her test but didn’t work on those skills at all. She only took my daughter to teach her bay parking a week before her test was due and hadn’t even mentioned anything about Show Me Tell Me questions! My daughter is a competent driver but needed just a bit more practice to be test ready. We asked if we should cancel and rebook the test on our app for a month or so later but Joyce kept saying to wait until the last minute. She told my daughter she needed more lessons to see if she was ready and after paying for these told her at the last minute that she wasn’t ready and couldn’t take the test. My daughter cancelled and hasn’t heard from Joyce since. My daughters confidence was badly knocked but we have found a new instructor and hopefully she will be able to build that back.

Negative experience: I got the impression they don't want to take on any new students at the moment as the person I spoke to on the phone was quite dismissive unfortunately. Wouldn't even give me a quote.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Kenley School of Motoring was excellent. Joyce was very helpful in scheduling my lessons based on my weekly office schedule. Terry, is an excellent instructor. Just need to get used to his way of teaching. I had to unlearn or rather dial out my old bad driving habits I had picked up from my 10+ years driving experience in India. Terry helped me to adapt to the UK driving standards, not just to pass the test but to drive safely and sensibly. It made my 1st test attempt look super easy and I cleared with just 1 minor fault. You just have to adapt to Terry's sense of humour and his continuous feedback. He appreciates when you do well and points the mistakes quickly, for you to correct. He loves his anecdotes/references about being a Pilot, trying to land a plane. He says driving is same, plan ahead and keep reading the conditions, road etc.

Positive experience: I had a great learning with Terry, my instructor who was straightforward to the point and over time we had some good conversations. He repeats the right way of driving every minute of the training, some might find it distasteful, but that really helps understand techniques and rules to follow when driving. One star less as they could improve their scheduling a bit so that the classes for the week are planned well ahead during the weekend and not on the previous day. I'm an experienced driver outside UK and I passed my test first time at Redhill, hopefully that says it all.

Fantastic experience: So today I passed my test first time! And only 2 minors! I can see some negative reviews, but I disagree. I had a great experience learning with them. Terry was great! Knowledgable about cars and planes! A dry sense of humour which some people might not get. At the end of the day I was a nervous driver and I passed first time thanks to Joyce and Terry! Also, I booked my own test when I felt ready and worked hard to be ready for that date…and it worked! Thanks to the both of you!!!

Fantastic experience: Terry has been a fantastic and knowledgeable instructor who really helped me get properly prepared for my driving test, enabling me to pass on my first attempt. Furthermore both he and Joyce were very accommodating of my schedule and helped me to maintain consistency over the course of my lessons with flexible scheduling. I would recommend the Kenley School of Motoring to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I failed my two tests before signing up with Terry. He is not the kind of instructor you would like if you prefer sweet talks. He is very straight forward, quick in responding and educating you constantly throughout the whole lesson. He prepares me for real life driving rather than focusing on the test. Honest feedback some times hard to take in but it helps me face up the reality. Examiners won’t give you a second chance once you make a serious fault. There is no sweet talk for silly mistakes… I learned that from my previous tests. I appreciate the help I received from Joyce and Terry. I won’t be able to pass my test on my fist attempt in Redhill test center.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this driving school to my worst enemy. They do not even deserve the 1 star. If you want to waste hard earned money, please contact Joyce and Terry who will happily take your money. My wife was not ready or confident for her driving test. She repeatedly voiced her concerns, but instead of postponing her test and building her confidence, she was pushed to practise with them almost everyday on the build up of her test. Rather than listening to their student, they pushed for more and more lessons, effectively in it for the money. And when my wife failed, they made no contact to resume lessons (other than an email of commiserations). We were left feeling they never really cared. It has been 2 months since my wife failed her test amd both Joyce and Terry have not once attempted to contact us for further lessons. I would never ever recommend Kenley Driving school. There method of teaching is wrong. My wife was never prepared or taught properly for her driving test and instead of recognising this they pushed her for more lessons and more money. Find yourself a different instructor / driving school who genuinely cares.

Negative experience: I had one hour driving class with Terry, he seems rude and impatient as an instructor. Thankfully I just booked for one hour, and thought not to continue with Kenley motoring school. The driving classes may be cheap compared to others but its not worth it.

My instructor, Terry, was straightforward and honest. He was always punctual and taught me well enough that I passed 1st time with only 3 minors. Negative experience: Plzz be aware. Terry n Joyace politely exploiting innocent learners . At start they recommend you a particular test centre. Give you maximum lessons up to 40 n never take you to the test routes n at the end when test is booked you beg them to show test routes but answer is you r not ready for the test. How a person can b ready if you r taking leaners for the first time to test route after 40 lessons. Very skillful to get money from learners but not making them ready for the test. N big excuse is covid covid. So plz don’t waste your time n money. They took my 6 months on training now they say m not ready for the test. Who will make me ready instructer or neghbours result test is cancelled. Big disappointment

Fantastic experience: I recommend Kenley driving school wholeheartedly. Although he occasionally came across as a bit stern, my instructor Terry was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable, and it is in large part because of him that I was able to pass my test. I am glad to say that both Terry and Joyce displayed genuine interest into my learning progress throughout my practices. Moreover, unlike other driving schools, there was no conflict of interest.

Negative experience: Terry was condescending and borderline rude. He constantly made rediculous overdramatic representations of very simple infractions. I've driven for 20 years, Terry is a terrible instructor. Joyce has no concept of communication. Go somewhere else. This place is outdated, and customer service is not a priority. 0 professionalism.

Fantastic experience: I had already done a fair amount of lessons with another instructor before joining Kenley. I had Terry as my instructor and he definitely ensured I was driving to the best I possibly could be! After months of stop start lessons due to Covid (and lots of practice in my own car) I passed my test yesterday on my first time, with only two minors! Definitely all down to how terry got me driving

Negative experience: Perhaps I just got unlucky with my instructor, but they simply milk you for money by saying that you are not ready and recommending more lessons. Due to the unavailability of an exam in 2019, my departure to university and Covid-19, my exam was postponed to August 2020. In the meantime, I practised privately in a family car until my exam. I passed first time without a lesson from this school in almost a year! Showing that their "advice" in 2019 was purely a way to make more money out of me. My recommendation; get familiar with handling a car and basic driving functionalities (such as roundabouts, crossroads, traffic lights, etc). Once the learner is competent, go to a DIFFERENT (cannot emphasise this part enough) driving school to brush up on the finer details regarding manoeuvres, tips on the exam centre and overall etiquette to adopt in order to pass.

Positive experience: I passed my driving test today with only a few minors thanks to terry and Joyce. Terry's a great instructor and is straight to the point in telling you what you need to do for a pass first time round.

Fantastic experience: Had an extremely positive experience learning with KSM. Both Joyce and Terry were professional, the car was modern/great for learning and the pricing structure is very fair. Terry was a great instructor and no doubt the reason I passed - every lesson was like a test! He was very accommodating of my later working hours and managed to fit me in! Thanks both!

Joyce who organised our lesson was really kind, helpful and moved things around to make sure I got the time I needed before my test date.

Negative experience: I was disappointed with Kenley Driving School. My sister had learnt with them 2 years previously but my experience was very bad compared to hers. I had to book lessons with the director of the company and not with the actual instructor, the instructor was always rushing around to next lessons and I felt lessons were being pushed in order to fill their gaps. The teaching was good from my instructor but the layout of the business and their attitude was not what I expected

Positive experience: Instructor Chris is highly recommended. Really understanding, knows his stuff and is great company. Absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately I only got him after an appalling experience with one instructor who I gave up with after one lesson. She absolutely destroyed my confidence. I had failed 3 tests with a different driving school previously so switched. The last thing I needed was being slagged off at every opportunity. She made me get out of the car at one point to watch her drive for 5 minutes....in a lesson which I had paid for. Appalling. I hope she has been given the boot as she was a disgrace. After I complained to Kenley, they were very speedy in directing me to Chris, who as I say, is absolutely brilliant.

Negative experience: I had a really bad experience with one of their teachers. We initially bought only one lesson just to check him out and he was wonderful. Very positive, constantly saying how great I was doing, etc. Based on that first lesson I decided to stick with him. How mistaken I was! After a while he turned out to be the most negative person I've ever met. There was no constructive criticism during our lessons. When he was pointing out that I did something wrong I usually tried to ask I him what would be the correct way but never got a proper answer (' just drive' would be a typical one). A minute or two after each lesson he would ask if I had any questions but after 2hours of driving I could hardly ever remember what happened at the beginning. He never remembered either. I could not understand why my confidence in driving was getting lower and lower and then I realised that he was never, NEVER saying anything good, anything positive about what I was doing behind the wheel. After I realised that I decided to check and listened specifically for any positives, there were none. Perhaps some ppl react well to this style of teaching but I'm not one of them. After some time I just decided to stop taking lessons from him purely because I felt that my driving was worse than when I started.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test - first time. Best driving instructors. They follow up with you after each lesson to discuss how you're progressing and encourage you discuss what will help you best. I've tried different schools before and it really is about finding the right teacher. 10/10 for how prepared they are. 10/10 for their knowledge and skill.
