Fantastic experience: If I could give Simply Automatic more than 5/5, I would! Having passed my test a long time ago, but not driven for 25 years, I was extremely nervous about getting back on the road. I felt I needed an instructor to give me a few lessons to give me confidence and make sure I was able to drive. Luckily, I chose Phillip at Simply Automatic. From the outset, Phillip has involved me in deciding what would help me feel comfortable behind the wheel. Over the course of three lessons we have practised a range of manoeuvres and driven in different environments. Phillip has been constructive at all times, has given me lots of handy tips and has made sure he was covering what I wanted to re-learn. All of which he has done with great patience, humour and professionalism. In the space of two weeks, Phillip has taken me from being someone who wasn't even sure they wanted to get behind the wheel again, to being someone who has today driven home their own newly purchased car. Fantastic experience: I’ve spent so long thinking I’m not good enough to drive but learning with Phillip has truly opened my eyes to the possibilities I could achieve through hard work and perseverance. Phillip has never made me feel like I cannot drive, and has always made me feel alright after making a mistake. Phillip has an outstanding outlook on driving and really helps you learn at ease. He explains things in a way that doesn’t make you feel silly, but also helps you understand what he’s talking about. He has provided me with many tips on how to overcome test nerves on the day, and using those tips I managed to pass today. Under Philip’s very patient and professional guidance, she has passed her test well at the first attempt- learning how to drive for life and establishing good habits which will stand her in good stead as she ventures out independently. I will reiterate that Phillip has gone above and beyond to teach and reassure her, showing sensitivity and a good sense of humour, which is invaluable in a stressful lesson. He has liaised with me (her mum) in order that I could supplement her lessons with extra practice, and encouraged me to sit in on the occasional lesson to ensure we are all helping my daughter in a consistent way. Fantastic experience: As someone driving in the UK for the first time, I would say learning from Phillip was a good choice. He is very thorough and makes sure you are doing the right things all the time. If there are any mistakes then he feedbacks to you soon enough which I found very helpful to work on straightaway. Fantastic experience: Philip is an amazing instructor. He taught me with so much patience, friendliness and occasional humor that put my mind at ease. When I make mistakes, he would patiently explain to me why I shouldn’t have done that and tell me the right technique to use. He poured so much knowledge into me being his student and lessons were very interactive. I used to drive as a tunnel vision driver (I didn’t even know that existed till he pointed it out), he taught me how to scan the area while driving and preemptively react to situations on the road. Fantastic experience: Driving has always been a big obstacle for me, as I never felt confident, I had many lessons with driving instructors before but I didn't pass the test, I didn't feel confident, and I was always very nervous which made me make mistakes, which led to me failing 4 times. I started taking classes with Phillip, and he was always very patient, he made me feel more confident and less nervous, and thanks to all his patience and amazing lessons, I felt prepared, and managed to pass! I will always be grateful to him for teaching me how to drive!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Phillip highly enough! I had given up learning elsewhere twice before - as a very anxious late-learner, it has not been an easy ride. Genuinely, I think I would have given up again if it weren’t for Phillip’s informed and empathetic teaching. He was so patient and understanding but also continued to challenge me in a way that always felt safe. Not only has he helped me to pass my test (a feat in itself) but he has prepared me for real-world driving. In my first few days of driving independently, I am already confidently reverse-bay parking in busy car parks around town. I feel fully equipped to face all the many uncertainties that driving entails. He quickly identifies and adapts his teaching style to each individual’s needs. It never felt like I was just another number to get through the test but rather that he genuinely cared about helping people become safe and confident drivers. He also made lessons feel fun and relaxed and we had great chats!

Fantastic experience: I had driving lessons with Philip for a few months, because I really wanted to be well prepared for my test, Philip is very professional in the way he has improved my driving skills. As a beginner driver who just coming from abroad I’m not even familiar with the driving condition in England, and He help me a lot with this including improving my driving skills. Fantastic experience: My daughter has just passed her driving test first time! She has had a very positive experience learning to drive. Phillip’s patience and professionalism is second to none. Each lesson planned out. With also a few laughs and a personal connection that makes learning enjoyable. My daughter is now a confident and safe driver. I drove from Seaford every week to Eastbourne to get my daughter to Phillip’s hour and a half lesson. I will do it again when my younger daughter needs to learn to drive. Fantastic experience: On behalf of my daughter I can 100% recommend Phillip. Obviously as a parent I only saw him at the beginning and end of a lesson, but he was always on time and flexible around the odd school commitment. He is a friendly, genuine person and he clearly has a true passion for what he does. The feedback from my daughter was that he was always informative, kind, patient, encouraging and I know that all of that gave her the confidence to put her nervousness aside and pass not only her theory test, but also her practical test first time. Fantastic experience: thanks to Philip at Simply Automatic i just passed my test! He is a superb instructor who doesn't just want you to pass, he wants you to be the safest and most skilled driver you can be. as someone coming into the driving game late in life (50!) with many eccentric foibles i honestly can't imagine that anyone else could've got me through it successfully, but Philip's vast experience and jovial manner put me at ease and ensured that i made it across the finish line. i will certainly miss driving around with him - throughly professional and fun.

Fantastic experience: Last Tuesday, I passed my driving test! Philip has shown nothing but patience, kindness and professionalism. He is a perfect instructor. I got my money’s worth. If he can teach me, he can teach anyone highly recommended I was previously with an instructor that was charging less but wasn’t a good teacher. Fantastic experience: An amazing, supportive and wonderful teacher. I genuinely wouldn't have passed my test without Philip, especially being neurodiverse. He put so much time and energy into teaching me in a style that works for the way I learn, never giving up and always believing in me. I had many emotional moments that he handled with empathy and companion, and I will really miss our time together. I can't recommend him highly enough and I was so very lucky to be able to work within, worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: Philip is very professional, polite, helpful and well-spoken, so is the instructor. Since day one, he took almost care of the fact that I am new to UK driving practices and rules.  Due to the pandemic, there were a lot of inconsistencies about the lessons and test, but Philip carefully guided through this process and taught me so well that I passed my driving test on my first attempt. Yet again, thank you Philip and Simply Automatic for providing a professional and friendly service and always being happy to go above and beyond. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Phillip is professional, reassuring and personable. He ensured that I understood all of the mistakes I was making that could impact my test and driving, and with patience, helped me correct them. I did not have access to a car to practice so all of my preparation was exclusively via lessons with Phillip. Additionally, owing to disruption caused by the pandemic the time to prepare was shorter than originally intended - but his focused and effective teaching allowed me to pass first time! Fantastic experience: I feel privileged to have been taught to drive by Phillip and I strongly recommend him as a driving instructor for everyone. I passed my test because of Phillip’s outstanding teaching skills and knowledge, his amazing patience and his ability to motivate and inspire. Phillip is definitely an instructor who will do everything in his power to help the pupil to feel at ease behind the wheel and to succeed. He also has great communication skills and a great sense of humour, so my driving lessons were not only very instructive and informative, but also fun. Am currently on my 7th lesson and have learnt so much, I have really gain confidence, and gain so much knowledge already! From the get go, he made me feel comfortable and relaxed and his Postive and warming personality puts me at ease on my lessons.whenever I have a question during my lesson we always find a safe place to pull over to discuss any questions until I understand them fully! Fantastic experience: I was a very nervous passenger when I started learning with Phillip. As the lessons went on my confidence as a driver grew and it was all thanks to Phillip’s calm and open driving lessons. When I did things wrong, Phillip would always go through what happened with me and how I can learn from it rather than getting annoyed or shouting. The lessons were open and he would always ask what I wanted to do that lesson which made it quite fun and allowed me to learn in my own style. In just 6 months after first sitting in the driving seat I passed my test first time with only 1 minor. I couldn’t have done it without Phillip so couldn’t recommend him enough!
