Joel really helped build that up, had a lot of patience and really helped me focus on the arrears I struggled with. I passed first time with one minor so I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: The best of the best! Joel is a fantastic driving instructor and all round lovely chap. I passed my driving test on my first attempt all thanks to him and his great teaching skills. I did a lesson a week with him and found the 1.5 hours the perfect amount of time. I learnt a lot in every lesson and we covered a lot of ground across Bristol. He also has a very nice car to drive in which I think helped to make me feel more at ease. At the end of every lesson he talks about the highs and lows and we go over any mistakes or worries which I found super useful, explaining everything in great detail, but also in an easy to understand way. Highly recommend and super grateful I was able to learn from Joel’s driving school!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Joel! He is a great teacher, very in depth and thorough, very knowledgeable and keen to impart that knowledge to you, remaining patient and calm at all times, always encouraging and enthusiastic, easy to get on with and chat to, which culminates in a great environment to learn to drive in. The lessons wer well thought through and structured, with several teaching aids which make things clearer, Joel used a reporting system so you can see how you are getting on and developing which was really helpful. You will cover all aspects of driving, going above and beyond what is called for in the test making sure you are a safe, confident and competent driver. He went out of his way to fit me into his schedule and get me through my test at short notice despite issues cropping up for both of us which he didn't have to to at all and I really appreciate that, with the situation as it was I wouldn't have passed without Joel's help, tailoring his lessons to my needs and changing his schedule around to squeeze in extra lessons. His car is also nice and easy to drive which really helps build up confidence and ability quickly, I had lessons in 3 different driving instructors cars and joels was by far the easiest and nicest to drive!

Fantastic experience: Joel was an absolutely amazing driving instructor! Firstly, the evening and Saturday lessons he offered fit in really well with my full-time job, he was always flexible and was willing to work around your timetable as well as his. The lessons were well structured and planned with clear progress tracking, attainable targets and were challenging without being over stretched. He would never rush you into a driving test and was always realistic about your ability. Being a somewhat nervous driver particularly when starting with Joel, he offered great reassurance and was always on hand with helpful tips and tricks to correct any faults I had made! He was always patient and showed great perseverance! Particularly with the driving test backlog at the moment, if you managed to get an earlier cancellation he would always do his best to fit you in which was a life saver in this minefield! Overall I would give Joel's Driving School 6 stars if I could, fantastic instructor, great lesson plans and an all round great experience! Thank you Joel!

Fantastic experience: Really recommend learning to drive with Joel! Like others, I started driving inbetween two lockdowns so it took me a while to get my test but I passed first time this week. Joel is very relaxed to drive with, super friendly and (thankfully!) very patient! Highly recommend especially if you think you're likely to get flustered and need a patient and chilled out teacher.

Negative experience: Helping my 17 yr old son start to drive.I found Joels driving school which is local to us (BS10).My lad rang the company number & got though to a voicemail instructing him to leave some details which he did.He waited several days so sent a follow up.A week has passed now & Joel has still not had the courtesy to reply to him which is very shabby indeed.A simple sorry by text would suffice if that was the case.Not impressed at all.

I am a late learner and found it a long journey. Joel's an observant, articulate and engaging teacher who will discuss and explain all the things that you do well and all the things you do wrong while taking the time to make sure you understand all aspects of driving. Learning to drive is an expensive investment, so invest your money and effort wisely. Joel will identify your strengths and weaknesses and make sure that you have the knowledge and the skills to get a result on the big day. Fantastic experience: I had 2 previous instructors before starting with Joel, and my confidence was at an all time low. Joel was fantastic at building that confidence and his teaching was fantastic. Joel has a very calm and patient manner and never makes you feel silly when you get something wrong. He prepares you so well for the test, that when it came to my test it didn't feel scary. I passed 1st time with 3 minors, this wouldn't have been possible without Joel. Thankyou for the great teaching. 11/10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Joel was really great to learn with. He gets you making progress quickly but doesn't rush you, and will tailor lessons to what you feel less confident on. He made the test experience much easier and less stressful by taking me on the test routes frequently and clearly outlining what they are looking for in the test and what might come up, but at the same time I did not feel that I was being taught just how to pass the test but actually how to become a good and safe driver. He is professional but friendly and good to talk to so learning with him was an enjoyable experience. I passed first time with just one minor fault and I feel confident and relaxed behind the wheel, despite being nervous at first. I highly recommend Joel.

Fantastic experience: Joel puts in the work, he will teach you very fast by repeating and repeating what really is important and that is how you will remember things when you’re nervous in your test. He will also make time if he can in case you need to pass ASAP. Great guy.

Fantastic experience: Would 150% recommend Joel's driving school, I learned with Joel from my first ever lesson to my test. Joel is a brilliant teacher his calm positive attitude towards teaching is wonderful not once did I feel any negativity from joel, he's always helping to improve your weakest points to make you more confident. Amazing teacher very good competitive prices,,only had about 22 hours (dependent on the student) and we was done joel also at the time helped me by doing weekend lessons with me because of my work commitments.

I was an incredibly nervous driver, after failing several tests many years ago, and really lacked confidence when learning to drive again. I found Joel's instructions clear and easy to follow and he would always take the time to go through things that I found particularly tricky. That I passed first time, with only one minor fault, is testament to his great skills as an instructor. I also felt that he was really supporting me to drive in a real world, not just to pass a test, so I am now confident driving around town and on longer journeys.
