He teaches many practical and safe driving tips and approaches the lessons with humour. The communications personnel Karen is superb, always prompt and clear in email replies. Fantastic experience: I was having a difficult time finding somewhere that would offer me a few refresher lessons as I've just moved to the UK, A2B Driving School were quick to respond and now I've had my lessons with chris.He is friendly, relaxed and a great instructor.

Fantastic experience: I reached out to Karen at A2B as my friend who can't read or write needed help passing his test. She went over and above to help us, giving advice and expertise but more than anything showed compassion for our circumstances, where so many others didn't care. Trust and, essentially, humanity, can't be replaced by price and availability so thanks to Karen for taking the time to care for us.

Negative experience: Enquired about lessons with them and without reading my email had a couple of incredibly rude and unprofessional emails back. Glad they've got enough business to talk to people this way. They rhen replied to my thread with the following email : "Thank you for your ridiculous one star review. We have reported you to Google and hopefully they will delete your profile. We have done nothing rude whatsoever. We simply told you unless we can have Lessons with you during the day on weekdays. We can’t help you where on earth do you get one star reviews for saying this? We are now going to post the thread of the conversation to make you look ridiculous to the world". Their next email read: "We hope you have this will prove how awful you are as a human being . how ridiculous to post a review and go to all this trouble for somebody you’ve never met who tried to help you and simply advised you when they would be able to help you. Good luck with the rest of your life very suspicious messages from you . we have reported all of this to Google" Hopefully continuing to post their emails to me will make the abuse stop? Thanks for proving my point :)

Fantastic experience: I have been taught by Chris from A2B for the last month or so and have been really enjoying my time! I have always been very afraid of cars but he is really helping me overcome it and be confident in my driving. Great conversation every lesson too!:)) One of my friends who he taught has already passed her test 1st time and it is making me feel so confident in my own abilities. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Finding driving lessons in Bristol was difficult, weird given the summer season has less students and I presumed I would be able to find a space. After much disappointment and ghosting by other schools (including notable names advertised on TV), I took a friend’s recommendation with A2B and Chris. I got an almost immediate response, which after explaining my situation as a student staying over summer, managed to get a cancellation slot with Chris and I am so grateful they gave me a chance! So far, I’ve had 2 lessons with Chris, whose confidence and calm personality has helped me lots, especially when I make mistakes on the road. Driving is super stressful, but with Chris’s experience and his professional, pragmatic approach to teaching, I know I’m safe and comfortable. I know I have a long way to go, but I look forward to my lessons, and can’t wait to get my license later this year (fingers crossed!)!

Fantastic experience: I am two lessons in with Chris and so far everything has been superb. A2B are very quick and efficient at setting up lessons when slots become available. Communication is great and clear. As for the driving lessons, Chris is a really informative and a clear instructor. Chris has a great sense of humour and really easy to get on with so makes lessons very stress/anxiety free for me. Even when I make mistakes Chris is very professional, calm and kind at helping with corrections. I really appreciate A2Bs approach of 2 hour lessons as it allows enough time to get the most out of each lesson, although the time seems to fly by everytime! Would 100% recommend A2B

Fantastic experience: If your looking to start your journey as a ADI then stop looking A2B are the perfect solution. I started my journey a year ago, signed up to a national company a name we all know and I thought I could trust. I got very little for my money. Since signing with A2B in late October I’ve had more 121 tuition than in 10 months with the previous company. I have my part 1 booked and I know with the support I’m getting I’ll pass. Chris my instructor never gives anything but 100% his enthusiasm is infectious and he takes a personal pride in your achievements. Nothing is too much trouble. It may be a small company but it has a big heart. Your really should pick up the phone and talk with them you won’t be sorry. Part 1 and 2 passed first time now on a pink license preparing for part 3. Happy days

Fantastic experience: A2B driving school were the only company in Bristol to reply to my inquiry. I got a lesson the next day due to a current student cancellation. I’ve been on the books ever since and have had a lesson every week according to my schedule (9-5, Mon-Fri). I’ve had 6 lessons and am now feeling much more confident on the road thanks to Chris! Looking forward to continuing.

Fantastic experience: I'd been looking for a driving instructor with experience of teaching Deaf students as I've had bad experiences in the past. Previous instructors would look away when explaining concepts (when the car was stopped) so I wouldn't be able to lipread, or using a lot of complicated sentences while I was driving that meant it was hard for me to process what I needed to do quickly. I contacted A2B and was told they were quite busy but that Chris would be a good match as he had taught Deaf students before and I was placed on a cancellation list. The first cancellation came through less than a week later! Although it took a little longer (only 2 weeks though) to find a cancellation slot I was free for, once I took it, I was on Chris's regular lesson list. I've had four lessons now and have gone from being quite nervous before the first lesson to actively enjoying lessons! Chris has really thought through how best to adapt his teaching style to suit my needs and to maximise my learning. He's using hand gestures for things like left, right, changing gear, increase/decrease speed which allows me to focus more on the driving and less on trying to hear him. Complex concepts are explained when we are parked so I can fully lipread and he can support with diagrams. He's got a great balance of challenging me but also keeping me confident and I feel like I'm going to become a really capable and confident driver under his tuition. Thanks so much A2B and Chris!

Fantastic experience: I’ve only just started with A2B Driving School but have had a great experience so far! They responded to my inquiry text very quickly and explained how they get new students established by offering slots that other students have cancelled. I think this is a great system as with most other schools it looked like it was going to be at least 3-4 months on a waiting list before I would get a chance to start. Though it took a few goes to get a slot that I could do, I had my first lesson with Chris on Wednesday (2 weeks after I said I would be available for lessons) and it went very well! I was quite nervous but he spent a lot of time going through how various mechanisms within the car worked, which I find very helpful as I like being able to visualise what is happening. Learning to drive is expensive no matter where you go but so far my A2B experience has given me no reason to think I’m not getting my money’s worth

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with A2B, specifically being instructed by Chris and passing first time. As a more "mature" learner, I was initially apprehensive about starting lessons, but Chris’s approach quickly put me at ease. I had had some previous strange experiences looking for instructors in Bristol (someone charging a deposit just to be put on a waiting list for example……) but from first interactions Chris was professional, helpful and clear. From our first lesson, it was obvious that Chris is dedicated to creating safe, confident and profiecient drivers, not just individuals who can pass the test. Chris’s direct but informative communication style helped me grasp the concepts and he clearly adapts his style around the individual. Some of his learning tricks and “golden rules” from the very first lessons stayed with me throughout right up until the test. His knack for breaking down complex maneuvers into manageable steps was particularly helpful when mastering parallel parking and navigating roundabouts. What stood out the most was his deep knowledge of the local routes and test areas, which gave me a significant advantage during my driving test. One of the most impressive aspects of Chris’s instruction was his flexibility and commitment. When I got a last minute test at short notice, Chris went out of his way to adjust his schedule to accommodate my new test date, even if it meant rearranging other lessons. This level of dedication is truly appreciated. Beyond just driving techniques, Chris provided valuable advice on car maintenance and road safety. He explained not just what to do, but why it is beneficial, ensuring I felt fully prepared for life on the road. Thanks to his instruction on dealing with various driving situations, I felt confident enough to drive abroad in California soon after passing my test. Without his comprehensive teaching approach, I wouldn't have felt comfortable driving in a foreign country so soon after passing. While I only experienced instruction by Chris, having got to know him I am highly confident that anyone he would train or work with at A2B would be of an equally high standard. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris and A2B to anyone looking to learn to drive in Bristol.

Fantastic experience: I am an older man and required some refresher training in driving a car. On the roads, many things have changed since I passed my driving test way back when. I was assigned Christian and found him to be excellent. He is patient, calm, and listens responds to your concerns and needs. Fantastic experience: I have had only one lesson with Chris so far and even though I was quite nervous, Chris has been absolutely patient and lovely. I learned to drive in Europe so the different flow of traffic has felt quite intimidating at times but Chris has been nothing but patient with me and all my questions! Fantastic experience: I have recently started having lessons with A2B after struggling to find any availability for driving lessons in Bristol; they got back to me promptly and made an effort to fit me in despite the current backlog and high demand. Chris is a great instructor: calm, friendly and clear with instructions. I had a large gap of nearly a year between lessons and was nervous about getting behind the wheel again but I am enjoying my lessons and the progress I am making so far.

During the backlogs of driving lessons due to COVID I had messaged over 40 different schools and A2B was the only driving school that got back to me. Since then Chris has been an excellent driving instructor. His ability to teach is beyond proficient; he has extensive knowledge about the road and I always have enjoyable conversations with him. Not only does he teach you how to pass the test but, most importantly, he teaches you how to be a confident and safe driver. His teaching also goes beyond the car by giving helpful advice about booking tests. He is very hard working and has never done me wrong before. These one star reviews that I have seen are one of two things: either they have never engaged with a lesson from A2B or they are obviously fake. I would recommend A2B to anyone who is looking to learn to drive in Bristol.

He is friendly, engaging, supportive, and most importantly calmly and articulately explains the process and logic behind everything he says. He is fundamentally teaching good driving habits, which can't be said for all instructors! I have driven before but in automatics, and I hadn't touched a clutch in over 10 years before I started. Fantastic experience: A2B were brilliant and flexible in getting me started driving. I was a nervous driver who had put this off for many years and I was particularly wary about learning in a busy city like Bristol. From the start, Chris put me at ease. Every lesson has the right mix of theory and practice and is paced according to progress. There’s an emphasis on realistic driving conditions so that my progress is real and applicable to each new scenario. The quality of the tuition is notable in that Chris is able to explain why it’s important to do something rather than just needing to learn it for the test. Good flexibility around my work commitments mean that I’d highly recommend the School to all.

Negative experience: Wow... I politely enquired about getting some driving lessons as I will soon be moving to Bristol and I got the rudest responses I could have imagined. There was no empathy or understanding of my situation and just an attitude of 'we are the best driving school and Bristol is the hardest area in the country to pass'. That may be the case, but its not hard to be polite to your customers. Probably my worst ever customer service experience.

Fantastic experience: I'm a pretty nervous driver, and am learning a little later in life (i'm almost 28). Luckily the school were able to fit me in quite quickly, and Chris was great. I was really nervous, but ive had a couple lessons with him, and I'm already feeling so much more confident and really excited to learn. Fantastic experience: Having learnt to drive in France quite a few years ago and never really driven in the UK I was quite nervous about driving again. Fantastic experience: I started my driving lessons with Christian back in 2019/2020 before covid and did really well, almost ready to take my test. Once covid happened and I had some personal issues I was unable to take a lesson for almost 2 years. I have recently started back again with Christian and although I was super anxious to start driving again chris has made me feel very comfortable and put me at ease. Fantastic experience: A2B are very approachable and professional. I stopped driving twenty years ago and needed to get back into the swing of things fast when my partner fractured his ankle. Fantastic experience: I have passed my driving test back in March 2023. Chris was my instructor and I highly recommend him if you are looking to pass your driving test the first time. He is very good at what he does and I managed to pass my test the first time with only 4 hours of lessons from him (I am an experienced driver from other country looking to get my UK driving licence). He gave really good advice for during the lessons and at the same time he is kind and patient. Chris really exceeded my expectations throughout this whole process of getting my lessons to passing the driving test. Thanks again Chris and it's had been a pleasure to learn from you.

Fantastic experience: I started taking lessons with Chris back in 2019 and he quickly made me feel comfortable behind the wheel. Chris is the only instructor that made me feel confident in tackling roundabouts, which had been a source of anxiety in the past. After a few months of lessons I felt comfortable putting in for my practical test. However because of lockdowns, I was unable to take it and driving was put on hold. When I finally felt ready to get behind the wheel again in summer 2022, I messaged Chris and our lessons picked up where we left off previously. I finally sat my test this month and passed first time with only a few minors. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend A2B and particularly Christian highly enough. I passed my test over a decade ago, but in the intervening years hardly drove and lost confidence. After just two lessons with Chris, including a fantastic all-day Pass Plus session, I feel more confident than I ever did all those years ago and have tackled long drives that would have been too daunting before. The lessons were really useful and enjoyable - Chris is a good teacher who explains practical concepts very well, as well as the reasoning behind them. Fantastic experience: Update to this - I passed wit the help of Chris doing two last minute lessons with me in the car I was taking my test in, with only one minor! Highly recommend again! A relaxed and calm approach to learning how to drive and great at being able to get a lesson before work which has been great for flexibility - definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Further update to review. I have now also received further training in the form of a Pass Plus driving course with Christian. This was an extremely useful experience and has further boosted my confidence in relation to making longer journeys and making use of motorways. I would highly recommend this course to any newly qualified drivers. Update to review. I passed my test today, with Christian's calm guidance and advice proving invaluable. He really helped calm any anxiety I felt and I would recommend his instruction to any prospective students. I have also had an entirely satisfactory experience in dealing with the school from an administrative standpoint. The services offered are very clearly indicated on their website and the costs for lessons are good value given the quality of instruction received. They were also very prompt in dealing with a specific administrative issue which I encountered in relation to a cancelled driving test.

Fantastic experience: Had my lessons with Chris, he is a patient instructor, who explains driving techniques in a way that is easy to understand, and because he communicates well, that helps a lot reducing any anxiety of being on the road. I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Started learning a few months ago, and in that time, Chris has been an encouraging, safe and helpful instructor- even making me feel comfortable, although I'm a naturally nervous driver. Chris was very flexible to my changing work schedule and was able to still fit me in even after I got a 9-5 job. Fantastic experience: 5 stars all round! Passed first time with only 3 minors. As someone who felt nervous to start driving, from my first lesson Chris made me feel confident and in control. He is a really patient instructor who gives clear instructions and guidance. Chris has been great, he doesn’t make you feel panicked, he guides you in the right directions and is incredibly knowledgeable in local tests routes. Chris has made me a calm and collected driver who feels very safe on the road, the confidence he has given me I don’t reckon I would get with any other instructor. Fantastic experience: I was recommended A2B Driving School via a family member who A2B helped pass her driving test and I'm so glad they did. Having missed the boat to learn when I was 17 I finally decided I needed to learn to drive. I contacted a number of driving schools in Bristol most of who didn't respond to me but A2B couldn't be more accommodating and offered to put me on the waiting list for lessons. Less than 2 weeks later they offered me a slot! I am quite a nervous driver and lacked a lot of confidence, feeling embarrassed to be learning later in life however Chris immediately put me at ease and helped me build up my confidence. He has a brilliant method of teaching making sure not only that you're safe on the road but also breaking down driving techniques and manoeuvres so you completely understand them and they feel manageable. The communication throughout my time learning to drive has been brilliant and Chris is always able to help me fit a lesson in around my schedule. I thoroughly enjoy all my lessons with A2B Driving School and couldn't recommend them highly enough. Looking forward to continuing learning and being ready to pass my test soon!
