In 1993, Essential Driver Training and its motorcycle division Fast Trak was opened in a tiny two room craft centre in the north of Shrewsbury. Twenty four years later we are still going from strength to strength.
Our core business in earnings capability is trucks and haulage but our hearts are in bikes.
Every single member of our staff are enthusiastic bikers and most are qualified instructors. We train on bikes, we tour on bikes and we race bikes. We have staff who slide around speedway tracks. If you do something on a bike that we don't, it's probably illegal and you should be sent to prison.

Fantastic experience: I had my cbt in November excellently trained by Jeff, then went straight for my direct access. Which i was trained by Andy, another top bloke and instructor. Passed first time on mod 1 and mod 2. Excellent atmosphere everyone is really nice. Food is top aswell so will be visiting for some food soon

Fantastic experience: I have just recently passed my CBT with FAST TRACK, and I can honestly say they were fantastic, from Steve booking me in to Jeff the instructor, who was excellent. I am looking forward to returning once I have taken my theory test to complete my direct access course. Oh and the diner is superb. Thanks all.

Fantastic experience: Passed the CBT in a day without any issues. This was in November, so a tad chilly! Experienced instructors with lots of extra tips and advice on how to stay safe on the roads. Slightly rushed towards the end of the course (4pm) but mostly due to the short daylight hours in November. Extra points to Marie for a cracking cup of tea & cake! Will be booking the remaining tests later in the year / 2025. Recommended!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend using fast trak, fantastic company all staff are extremely professional and friendly the instructors are brilliant, patient, hard working and will definitely get you upto the standard. The facilities are fantastic the food is top notch and the place has an amazing atmosphere. Thank you to Mick and Andy for all your training and thank you to all the staff for getting me through the mod 1 and mod 2 thank you for all your support.

Negative experience: Fast track or just fast cash? please read and deside for your selves but this is what happened to me. Scott dey. Cbt course 14/03/2024. Arived early ready for cbt after paying in advance, second person who was booked on same course was over half an hour late so I had to wait before starting my training. By lunch time I had been told several times by instructor Geof how well I was doing and that he would have no problem taking me on the road after lunch, the second person on the course was struggling and the instructor told me he will need more practice, during lunch the decision was made by Geoff to allow the other guy to continue and have a bit more practice, I thought fair enough, then after doing several more maneuvers and practice we were then both told we didn't have time to do the road part, and we would have to re book and pay a further £110 on top of the £170 we already both paid, in fairness to Geoff he offered to help me out by doing the road part with me the next afternoon, after hearing it could be a possible 4 week wait due to availability and my shift pattern, which I appreciated and booked in for it, the next day I was taken strait on the road and after the ride was given my certificate with no issues at all. They say they differ from other schools by only having 2 students at a time not 4 but I feal they may be making there money back by making people pay twice unnecessarily, like I said the instucter said several times I was ready for the road ride before lunch brake on day one, then to be told at around 15:00 that there is no time to take you on the road, I think is unacceptable not to mention the extra money. Be careful, guys. I'm not the only person that this happened to, and I don't think I will be the last.
