Driving Lessons Tameside- with Carl

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend booking lessons with Carl. I'm about 6 lessons in and I have learnt quite alot already. He is Patient and encouraging.

Negative experience: Do not book with this instructor. I have always been punctual to my lessons, communicated well and consistent with my payments. However, I recently had to cancel one time because I vomited 10 mins prior to our lesson starting so I had to cancel immediately and apologised for the last minute inconvenience. This instructor completely blanked me after that and stopped communicating with me. I waited a week and called from a number to find out he wanted to end our service. I did not appreciate the immediate ghosting he could have just messaged me that he wanted to end our service instead of being a child and ignoring me. People think he is friendly and lovely until you find out his true colours. He speculated I was lying about being sick and thought it was a money issue, which is ridiculous because I have always been consistent with my payments, I don’t appreciate that he speculates instead of communicating, he needs to work on his people skills. He immediately stops lessons with you if you are sick and have to cancel on only one occasion. I find it very hypocritical that he can cancel lessons several times because of his health issues but his students are not allowed to? I think he doesn’t realise that other people can also be sick not just him. He has poor communication, lack of professionalism and understanding, basically dehumanises his students because there are other reviews where he has done the same thing to other students, I also believe he is not medically fit himself for this job because he cancels a lot of his lessons due to his illnesses.

Fantastic experience: Passed an extended test 1st time today thanks to carl. Great teacher, has lots of knowledge. He managed to squeeze me in for my last few lessons when my last instructor let me down. I defo couldnt have passed without carl he was realiable and patient, learning to drive was easy with him and a great laugh. Hes worth the wait wouldnt go anywhere else.

Negative experience: Really nice driving instructor, however I had cancelled my lesson due to being poorly as well as hungover due to a work-do that I informed Carl of (had rescheduled and ended up cancelling due to this as I didn’t want to drive with alcohol in my system) and he’s completely ghosted. I can’t get contact and realised he’s blocked me after 1 cancellation. Like I said, nice instructor and was very optimistic and wanted to reschedule and apologise on the phone. I’m completely blocked. Very upsetting. 2 star because he’s lovely

Fantastic experience: Passed my test on 1st attempt with zero minors with Carl. Can't recommend him enough, truly the best instructor here. Very calm and patient and helped me feel a lot more confident from day 1 all the way to handling test day nerves. The lessons were great, lots of practice especially with manoeuvres I struggled with. I enjoyed my lessons a lot, he's very kind and easy to talk to. Thank you Carl, couldn't have it without you! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: I passed my test today with Carl and can’t thank him enough for the help he has given me with driving. He made me feel comfortable from the first lesson and kept me at ease throughout all of them. I can’t recommend him enough as a driving instructor really patient and kind!! Negative experience: Failed my test with Carl. Fair enough, it was my first time. I thought I'd brush myself off, and work hard to pass next time. However, a week later, I received belittling texts from Carl about failing my test – sent to me completely out of the blue! Very strange behaviour; I suggest working on your people skills. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: I had been learning to drive with Carl since before the pandemic and he is definitely the reason I passed 1st time. He always made time when I needed lessons when I came home from uni and was really patient when I made mistakes. He also ensures you are ready for your test by making you a priority and working longer hours to make sure you have as many lessons as you feel you need before your test date. I would definitely recommend Carl for anyone looking for driving lessons around Tameside.

Fantastic experience: I passed first time with Carl, the best driving instructor Manchester, I previously had 2 driving instructors before I came to Carl I had an bad experience with on of them and when I came to Carl I was a bag of nerves, Carl made me feel comfortable and at ease every time I got behind the wheel. He was reliable and always early for my lessons. I would recommend Carl to anyone he is the best!

Fantastic experience: I have recently read a review online criticising Carl's teaching methods and the nature of the review format not being "fit for purpose" because they are "years old". I need to make it clear that these comments are a few years old yes because the success of this driving school has been long running with many successful and happy clients over the years. Whoever comments negatively of this driving school with short, ill-intended comments have no clear experience with the instructor and is simply out to throw dirt in his name due to his personal success with his job and the fact that he is able to build a brilliant relationship with his learners on the path to progress of success in their driving. I urgently advise anyone upon reading such reviews to simply not be deterred but understand that there is a high level of competition within this field just like with any other occupation and certain ill-intended comments are simply placed to purposefully attack the teacher and his methods usually due to obvious reasons such as jealousy and envy. Ultimately it is your decision on how you perceive this driving school based upon the comments but I hope you can decern the comments that are negative with names that sound almost made up, are not genuine or authentic backed up by real experiences but simply produced out of spite. I can personally, just like so many others state confidently that you will not get a better driving instructor in the tameside/stockport area than Carl and I highly recommend him to anyone whether you are a beginner or not, young or a more mature driver.
