Fantastic experience: I came from London to Scarborough for the test, and Mick was kind enough to help me out by doing 6 hours of driving with me over the weekend (1st lesson was on the 20/09 and test was on 23/09). I felt confident in my ability, so I thought driving with Mick would be just practicing driving in the local area, but he ended up teaching me so much during these 6 hours. I went into my test without absolutely zero stress thanks to him and his no BS approach, and I passed first time. If I had my test before meeting Mick, I am not sure this would have happened, and so I cannot recommend his services enough. Great instructor, and a fantastic man. Fantastic experience: Mick - the Man, the Myth, the Legend! I could not recommend Mick highly enough. I opted for his semi-intensive driving course, being blocks of 4hr lessons. After the first lesson, he gave me an assessment of the lessons he thought I required and his pricing structure. The terms are very clear at the outset. In terms of the lessons themselves, Mick is a fantastic instructor, offering encouragement and constructive feedback where required. He tailors the lessons to you and put me very much at ease. There's no stress with Mick, he's patient and knows exactly what he's doing - you're in safe hands. You spend a good deal of time with a driving instructor - Mick is friendly, easy-going with a great sense of humour. I'm very pleased to say that with the semi-intensive course, I started on 17 April 2024 and passed on 4 June 2024 - passing in 7 weeks. Thanks Mick!

Fantastic experience: I had two sessions, each over five hours, with Mick dropping me back at home in York for an hour break in the middle (2 blocks of 2 hours driving). I had not driven in the 9 years since passing my test and was extremely nervous. Mick reacted very well to my nervousness, with a good balance of encouragement, but knowing not to push me too far out of my comfort zone too quickly. The gradual way we switched from giving me exact instructions to following road markings has made a huge difference to how I feel on the road. He also quickly identified areas to work on (roundabouts) and the exact issue (not looking in the right place to anticipate drivers!). Would recommend Mick to any nervous drivers wanting to build up their confidence!

Fantastic experience: Great experience from first phone call, quick to respond to calls and texts. My preference was to book longer lessons for my daughter, we had four five hours lessons and one three hour lesson and she passed first time! There was good communication after each lesson and Mick summarised what we could practice between lessons. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: conscientious, an extremely good instructor who will take the time to think about how best to teach you. Completely honest, will tell you what you need to do both skills and confidence wise. My lessons with him were always a pleasure. I would recommend him to anyone and especially to nervous drivers such as myself as he does take the time to consider things from your viewpoint and see what personal obstacles you are facing not just the mechanical problems.

Fantastic experience: I passed my test with Mick last month. He has been a great instructor, due to personal circumstances there were several times where I had to take a break from weekly lessons and he was really accommodating. Unlike other driving instructors I have had, Mick takes the time to learn about his pupils and always suggested things with them in mind. When I started I was doing 2 hour lessons, however Mick felt that I was losing concentration after 1.5 hours, so he suggested we just do 1 hour lessons. Even after I failed a couple of times he stuck with me and was supportive, helping me learn from my mistakes and building my confidence. I honestly would recommend Mick to anyone who wants a support driving instructor that takes time to learn about you and help you succeed.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Mick at one to one driving enough and can confidently say you will not regret choosing him as your driving instructor. When I first started my lessons, I was extremely nervous and inexperienced, however Mick was very soon to pick up on this and helped ease my nerves. He is super adaptable to each individual persons way of learning and there is great ease in conversation which was personally great for me as I am not a fan of silence.
