Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with this driving school. The instructor initially confirmed both my training and exam. After completing the training, he suddenly told me that he couldn't book my exam as promised. After a long and frustrating conversation, he demanded an additional large sum of money to "rebook" the exam. It became clear to me that this driving school is more interested in squeezing as much money as possible from its students than actually providing the service they promise. It's a complete scam! Please be careful and avoid this place if you're looking for honest and reliable HGV training.

Fantastic experience: I just recently passed my HGV C+E and i can't recommend this training company enough. The instructors were both calm and concise in how they taught, the information and advice was super helpful. They were fair, honest and friendly which helped to dissipate any nerves from the start, and they were willing to help and make adjustments to suit the learners needs. If there's a choice in which training company to go with, go with Focus driver training Ltd.

Dan brought me straight back down to earth! Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend using Focus Driver Training and especially the instructor Dan. He was very professional and extremely helpful with all aspects of getting my B+E towing licence. Although you don't need a separate licence for towing up to 3.5T anymore, I would still recommend getting a few lessons in before towing large trailers on the road as Dan will definitely boost your confidence in every aspect of towing! Fantastic experience: Dan was very helpful and knowledgeable when calling him about upgrading my licence to the C category. His truck is not complicated or difficult to drive, despite it's size, opting for a simpler model with a manual gearbox to get a great start into lorry driving. Dan's coaching was at times 2:1 but more often 1:1 with an overall good level of tuition and input. I passed first time which was great and his fee's were reasonable for the amount of hours needed for my test. Dan was flexible and committed managing lots of clients at differing stages and ability levels to meet demand. He would ensure you were kept informed of each stage and lesson times / type. I would recommend Focus as Dan will take you round the test centre routes offering a great degree of familarisation and reassurance.

Fantastic experience: This company helped me get my CPC Mod 4. Dan was a great help and when I asked to postpone on short notice because of work he kindly offered me the next available date. The price was the best I could find in Southampton and the training itself felt like a good long chat rather than a boring classroom session. Excellent all round and would recommend!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I undertook our c1 drivers training with Dan. We found the whole process in the beginning rather daunting but once we made contact with Dan at Focus Driver Training he reassured us and emailed a step by step guide detailing the whole process. From start to finish we were looking at approx 3 months. We found Dan to be efficient and communicated very well. The online training modules / theory and hazard perception videos were absolutely amazing / first class! After completing our theory and hazard perception tests we undertook practical driving sessions with Dan. Dan is incredibly gifted and passionate about sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge of safe and efficient driving, it’s been a very positive experience for us and both passed first time. Fantastic experience: I thought Dan was a very good instructor when I recently passed with him. Patient and quickly tailoring the instruction to the gaps in my ability and knowledge, I did the B+E licence with Focus Driver Training, which took around 5 hours of instruction and a 90min test which I passed first time. Overall, I feel much more confident having undertaken the instruction highlighting that not only will Dan get you through the test, but the learning will stay with you afterwards.
