Fantastic experience: We found Dave when my daughter was learning. We had been through two other instructors with limited success. It seemed that they wanted to coach you to pass the test rather than to learn to drive AND pass the test. Dave was a breath of fresh air. His approach is thorough and professional and he really does teach the learners how to drive. Since meeting Dave my daughter passed first time with minimal faults and my son passed today with zero faults which the examiner told us is very rare. I put all that down to Dave's coaching and cajoling and the way he approaches what he does. If you are looking for someone who will make you (or your kids if they are learning) a better driver then look no further than Dave Hall.

Negative experience: I'm confused at how there are so many glowing reviews, when my experience was the exact opposite with Dave. I found him stressful to deal with, condescending and outright rude. He actually swore at me in a lesson before, despite me obviously trying my best, as if I should be an expert driver off the bat. I normally work quite well in these situations, as I am cooperative and non-argumentative, but that didn't seem to help me here. I dreaded every lesson I had to wake up for, where I'd be lectured if I didn't go outside and wait in the cold for him rather than waiting inside and coming out when he arrived. I got lectured for not knowing the highway code in depth, as if anyone does. I felt much of my time and money was wasted here and would not be back.

Fantastic experience: Dave hall is an amazing instructor, he goes above and beyond to help you become the best driver possible so I couldn’t recommend him enough!!

The difference with Dave is that he teaches you how to be a careful and competent driver for all situations - he doesn’t just teach you how to pass a test. Dave has driven professionally his whole career (both in the police and as a driving instructor) and this very evident in the standard of his lessons and the feedback my son received. Fantastic experience: I was a very nervous and reluctant driver and had avoided driving lessons for nearly 10 years. I have since passed my driving test on the first attempt, with only 2 minors. In each of my lessons with Dave, he was extremely patient and supportive. Fantastic experience: Just passed my test, first time at Melton with Dave after just under 20 lessons. Throughout the process, he has gone very in depth, trying to work on any little mistakes which I make. He also has a keen emphasis on reacting to other road users and actively thinking how other peoples decisions may effect what I do. Initially, I found it a lot of information to take onboard but with time, I got used to Dave's teaching techniques and started to feel more relaxed during lessons. I have dyslexia and Dave has helped me on this, going over things several times and not rushing through the topics. I also found it useful that we can watch dash cam footage during the lesson, which allows me to understand mistakes which I have made. Fantastic experience: An absolutely brilliant instructor, Dave is very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches and extremely well-organised, both in his lessons and with the wealth of resources that he supplies. Dave also makes use of the latest technology to augment his teaching, often reviewing your driving alongside you using dashcam footage so that you can both assess your driving.

Fantastic experience: Dave teaches in an organised way, signing off different skills as the lessons progress which is useful so the learner always knows their current skill level and what they should be aiming for. I have always felt very safe when in the car with Dave, knowing he would be there to step in if i went slightly wrong. I have found it useful that Dave not only verbally explains how to execute certain manoeuvres, but also draws diagrams and uses models so the learner always fully understands what is required. The dash cam footage makes it easy to spot where adjustments can be made to improve further. I have also gained useful tips on what an examiner will be looking for during a test, making me feel more positive about when the time comes. With Dave you know you are getting the best teaching from an experienced instructor who is patient and communicates very well.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my driving test with Dave and it was such a pleasure learning to drive with him, I was extremely nervous about learning drive but Dave made me feel very safe when driving, his way of teaching is very methodical and accurate and his use of a dash cam really helps you understand where you can improve, the notes he takes during lessons are good for you to reflect the progress you are making. Overall I would highly recommend Dave as a driving instructor as he is super profession and was a great person to learn with.

He takes great time in making sure that everything your being taught you actually understand, and any questions asked will get answered the best he can. I can’t recommend anyone enough! Fantastic experience: Dave Hall was exceptionally patient and positive throughout my learning experience. He taught me how to drive effeciantly and safely, not just to test- standard. Dave also used aireal images, dashcam footage and links to interactive websites to aid my learning in and after lessosn; I found all of these immesley useful, as I felt as if i was learning even when not in the car with him. I have had previous insructors and found Dave to be above and beyond them with professionalism and teaching standard. Dave never got angry or frustrated with me, which futher gave me confidence, and went as far as getting out the car with me and walking up to roundabouts that caused me issues, and talking them through with me. He often over-ran the hour slot lesson time which showed to me that he focused on ending the lesson on a positive note. After passing my driving test with Dave, I then went on to complete my pass-plus with him. He helped me through motor-way driving and night driving, which can be daunting for newly passed drivers. Completing the pass- plus scheme with Dave has only allowed my confidence to grow even more, and I feel confident to travel anywhere, on any road.

Fantastic experience: I am writing this from the parents perspective. My daughter had just moved to Loughborough to study, and we didn’t know the area at all and it was really important to find a good driving instructor. I trawled the internet to find the driving schools which appealed to me as a parent. Dave Halls School of Driving really stood out: he has very good reviews, an excellent pass rate and he has a tremendous amount of driving experience/background. At the time of trawling the internet, his rates were slightly higher than a few other schools, but the others did not meet the criteria I had set. Dave ticked every box. I called Dave up and asked tons of questions. He was very patient with me, answered each question in turn and explained everything I needed to know. He passed the “mom test” with flying colours . When I spoke to my daughter about her driving lessons, she was always positive and her voice was full of enthusiasm. It sounded like they really got on. The things she was told to look out for and to anticipate were very advanced. Many people I know whom have been driving for years, don’t even know those aspects. I can’t recommend Dave enough.

Fantastic experience: I really recommend Dave as a driving instructor. He is patient and takes you through everything step by step. His lessons are well structured, and his explanations are always clear and unambiguous. I really like his method of teaching and I appreciate the high standard that they were set at. When I spoke to other people what they were taught in their lessons, it didn’t compare to what I was being taught in my lessons with Dave (mine were more advanced). Fantastic experience: I am an extremely nervous driver and before my first lesson I was very worried, however Dave is a great instructor and has alot of patience to help me progress. As i am progressing although I still worry and panic through my lessons my confidence is growing and i feel like i am learning to drive in a very safe and thorough way.

Fantastic experience: I will soon be 40 and had never had any experience in driving. On my first lesson I was really nervous but Dave made me feel very comfortable. I had around 10 lessons before I felt relaxed in the car. Dave was always friendly, calm, patient, knowledgeable and always on time. His lessons were always well organised and he wouldn't ask you to do something he thought you couldn't. Anything I didn't feel comfortable with, Dave would explain until I fully understood and felt happy doing. Dave went at a pace that suited me. I started driving lessons in January this year. It's now July and I've just passed my driving test first time with only 7 minors. I choose Dave because he also taught my daughter to drive. She also passed first time. Fantastic experience: I was extremely nervous about driving before my first lesson, however dave is an exceptional instructor and put my mind at rest instantly. As i am progressing through my lessons my confidence is growing significantly and i feel like i am learning to drive in a very safe and thorough manner! He gave my daughter the time and patience that she needed making every step as clear as possible to help with her dyslexia. Lastly I found Dave an excellent instructor for his willingness to go the extra mile by trying to arrive early to many lessons to enable me more time driving and in my case even finding me a new driving instructor when I moved away to university before passing my test.

Fantastic experience: Dave Hall is BRILLIANT!! He is so easy to get along with, he makes his instructions clear and easy to understand. I really lacked confidence but he made me able to relax and feel comfortable driving which makes a massive difference. I was with another company for nearly two years without taking a test and I have had one lesson with Dave Hall and it completely changed my approach to driving and has made me confident enough to set my sights on booking a test! He is worth every penny!!!

Fantastic experience: Dave was a very helpful and kind driving instructor. He is very good at picking out your weaknesses and helping you overcome them, guiding you to be the best driver you can be. He offers additional help with sheets and diagrams and links to websites that are all helpful to further your knowledge. He gives you plenty of practice in areas that you need to cover and is very thorough in teaching you all aspects of driving- even those that won't be tested but will be needed for driving in general. Dave has a great knowledge of all the test routes around Loughborough and the surrounding areas. Definitely worth investing a bit of time and money in lessons with Dave Hall! Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend anyone who is learning to drive to look into Dave Hall School of Driving. Dave was very patient with me and I instantly felt I became more confident as a driver, despite having no previous experience. Dave never charged me extra when my lessons went over time, he was always on time or even early for lessons and taught to a professional standard. I always felt I learnt something every lesson, and Dave made sure I was ready to take my test, and I passed my test first time!
