Fantastic experience: Mike Preston is an absolute legend. I had some previous experience with another instructor in the area that had left a bad impression on me, and was initially hesitant to restart my journey on learning how to drive. Mike squashed any and all bad experiences I had. Every lesson was enjoyable, he was patient with me, walked me through the manoeuvres step by step and even helped me perfect the 45 degree parking method. I went from having bad experiences with driving and dreading being on the roads to looking forward to each lesson and having an enjoyable experience. I was getting into and out of the car with a smile on my face. Mike listened to everything and anything I said, even if it wasn't entirely related to driving (Councillor Mike to the rescue at the start of every lesson) I passed my driving test yesterday. I now have the freedom of having a license and the confidence to get onto the roads because of Mike's teaching. Once again, Mike Preston is an absolute legend and so are Elite Driving School.

Fantastic experience: As a student who was looking to get some driving lessons over the summer elite driving school and my instructor Richard were a great help. My instructor understood what I was hoping to get out of my lessons with him and tailored my lessons towards my goals. Very clear and easy to understand instructions helped me understand what was expected of me on the road, as well as a calm and understanding approach to a beginners skill helped me improve where I had faults and in my general driving ability. I found my time learning under elite and Richard very helpful and informative. No real complaints.

Fantastic experience: This is the perfect place if you're looking for instructors with a more calm and encouraging approach to driving! I needed some extra lessons before my driving test back home (I was in Hull for university) and I was luckily able to get started with Josh at short notice. I enjoyed every lesson I had with him and could not recommend him enough! He was informative without being overly strict like other instructors, and was also very friendly and funny. He was very polite and it never felt like he was angry or annoyed by what I was doing. I would've happily learnt with him from the start if I could've. I really felt relaxed and more confident as he picked up on correct techniques I used, and congratulated me for improving. An absolutely fantastic driving lesson experience all round!

Fantastic experience: I was really nervous when it came to driving. I even gave up after some bad experience with an instructor. I was so glad that Elite recommended Phil Harrison. He was so patient with me, has never put me down despite me doing the same mistake 'n' number of times. I slowly started getting better and gaining confidence with driving. Today I had the test and I passed it in my first attempt. I know it definitely wouldn't have been possible without Phil. He has a nice way of explaining things, finding what your problem is and helping to overcome it. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is really nervous about Driving.

Fantastic experience: Stu is the best instructor I could have ever asked for!! From the very beginning I felt so safe and confident with my driving thanks to my instructor. I learnt so quickly with Stu as he explained everything so clearly for me and would adapt anything I didn’t get first time until I could understand what I needed to do. I can’t even put into words how amazing of an experience I’ve had with Stu and Elite. I would 100% encourage anybody considering this company to go ahead. The hour and a half lessons allowed me to learn so much quicker and spend a good portion of time just driving and gaining the experience of an everyday road user as-well as specific skills all in one lesson. Stu was also amazing at finding time for my lessons when my college schedule had to change and was prepared to go above and beyond to ensure I could access my lessons each week and pass my test. Fantastic experience: As a driving instructor I’d like to say the new booking wizard is a fantastic bit of kit for me as it dissolves the time I use at the computer giving me more time for the more pleasurable things in life . All I have to do is input a lesson gap I have in the area I’d like to work which then becomes public to everyone which then connects me to new pupils, these pupils are then asked to complete some short questions then make the payment which is paid directly to me, I’m then notified of all this information immediately so then all i have to do is make contact with the client and then arrive and deliver there driving lesson, so in brief this is easy and straight forward for instructor and clients I fully recommend.

Fantastic experience: As an instructor the new driving lesson booking wizard is a brilliant tool for finding new pupils. It's so easy to use. All I do is put the time I am available and the wizard takes care of the rest including taking payment and all important details I need. It really is a game changer leaving me more time to focus on teaching.

Fantastic experience: Before starting my lessons with Rich, I was extremely anxious and dreaded the idea of driving. Fortunately for me, Rich made quick work of these worries and began building my confidence in no time at all. Towards the start of my lessons, Rich did an amazing job pushing me into more challenging situations and developing my driving skills faster than I ever thought I would. If I’d have had any other instructor I would probably still be stuck trying to build up the confidence to enter the Kingswood roundabouts. Typically in a review I’d try and give some constructive criticism however, in the case of Rich, I have absolutely nothing that I can critique. This really speaks to Rich’s character and the environment he promotes which is mostly calm and informal but serious and professional when the situation needs it to be. Thanks again to Rich Drant, for his excellent teaching and somehow getting me through my driving test first try!

Fantastic experience: Initially I was very anxious to begin driving lessons but after contacting Elite and having my first lesson with Rich Drant, I immediately felt more at ease. Fantastic experience: Rich is a brilliant instructor, much better than my previous two. His teaching fit my style of learning perfectly. We always had a plan for next lesson and set goals for each session. He gave me lots of information sheets on what to do in certain situations and also gave me reflection logs to complete after every lesson to track my progress. He also used visual aids and rhymes which I found really helped me to help me understand things more. He is a lovely man and would 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: After struggling to pass my theory test for a long time, Angus, my driving instructor, provided access to the “Theory Test Pro” app. We had a 1to1 lesson to get started and within 2 weeks I had mastered all the sections and passed my theory test with almost full marks. Fantastic experience: I was searching for a driving school nearby when this one showed up. I have chosen the Elite Driving School after going through their website and seeing that they use a Ford car, which is similar to my car back in my hometown, and that they have several packages of instruction that you can choose from to suit your schedule. My instructor was John McGonagle. He taught me how to drive like a standard UK driver. He is quite patient and doesn't let me down. I learned to drive with him for nearly 10 months, went to my driving test, and passed it a second time with one driving fault. That makes my day, as I can drive on my own after this. I have already recommended this school to my Thai friends who want to learn to drive in the UK.

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend a driving school more to anyone. I started with Rob, who took me in and got me ready in just two months, I had previous experience which was nothing in compared to what Elite taught me. Not only is there an app to post updates and record your lesson dates, my instructor also kept a record or everything we did the lesson and improvements to be made! Great people with great communication.

Fantastic experience: Josh has been an excellent instructor keeping me on track, providing thorough and efficient lessons to cover all the aspects of driving I needed to pass my test. Professional whilst bringing plenty of lightheartedness if the need arose, to keep each drive pleasant and productive. 10/10 can’t recommend enough

Negative experience: Initially I found the lessons to be good as I had no experience with driving whatsoever. However the lessons were slow and I had to push for more than just driving around. As time progressed, I felt a bit stagnant and raised this with my instructor, and the reply I received was that if I wanted to learn to drive fast I should opt to learn automatic. I did not want that and said that I would like to learn manual. As I didn't have a car, I was not able to practice privately, therefore relied on the lessons. The lessons were often moved due to the instructors car breaking down (more than 10 times) where we had to rearrange therefore it was really inconsistent. I had arranged for a test date in July 2022 (had been learning since September 2021). The instructor said I was not ready 2 weeks prior to test date. I asked for a mock test and I struggled on the SatNav portion because my instructor never did it with me despite this being a requirement for the test. We postponed the test to September and I said I would like to make sure we cover everything for the test moving forward and that I would appreciate any pointers so that I would be test ready in September. At the end of every lesson I asked for feedback - what we need to work on and whether we were still on track for the upcoming test, he said yes we were. Unfortunately my test was cancelled by the dvla as the examiner was not available, and I had to move the test to October. Come October, 1 week before my test the instructor said he is not happy for me to take the test in his vehicle. I told him I didn't understand and said I have been asking for feedback all this time and he said that he doesn't want to take me to test by chance that I fail and that they call on him to take a test as an instructor as he wants to have a high pass rate. He said he felt safe in the car with me, and thinks I can drive but thinks there is a mental block then ended the lesson saying "I didn't say I'm not taking you to test". The next day he messaged me via text that he won't be taking me to test. I found the lack of transparency and consideration on his part to be extremely unprofessional. If this was his professional assessment, he should have been honest with me during the time we had together as I was actively asking for feedback. I have had to move a lot of my prior engagements due to his car breaking down and I won't get any of that time back - I have been accepting and moved my engagements to accommodate this. Moreover saying one thing then another - being inconsistent is not fair to me as someone who is paying to learn to drive. I cannot in good conscience recommend this instructor no matter how friendly he was. I do believe he led me on and I feel as though my time and money has been wasted.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had Josh from elite teaching me since January and I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough, not only did he teach me everything so I passed but he made sure I was enjoying it as well and not making it seem like a chore. If anyone in the area was looking for lessons this would be the best choice from experience.

My instructor Rich helped put me at ease when I first started my lessons, as I hadn't had any driving lessons for around 6 years and was nervous to begin them again after having a negative experience the last time round. Rich always reassured me and ensured that I knew what I was doing, and our lessons were always fun and something to look forward to. Since passing it's made life so much easier, and I no longer have to wait around for buses to get to work or plan my day around them

Josh, guided me through every step of the process and was more than happy to repeat steps if he knew that I wasn't quite comfortable with them yet. Fantastic experience: Since from the beginning, I learned and enjoyed every aspect of lessons with Gareth Wilson. He is calm, friendly and professional. I managed to book a last-minute exam cancellation. Gareth very nicely and calmly managed the situation and helped me to pass in the first attempt. Thank you, Gareth.

Fantastic experience: Had to have a full driving licence for my job starting in September, and had only a few months to pass so it was going to be a squeeze, particularly with Covid making a backlog of driving tests. I found elite online and with a quick form submitted received a text for a lesson within a couple of days. From the initial meeting with my instructor Mr Casey we were able to sort out an extra slot as there was one available, which was great as it gave me more time to get comfortable before my test. They also give free access to driving theory website helps if you need them, and my instructor was handy with any questions regarding driving, theory and practical test knowledge, and cars. Passed 1st time, would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time learning to drive with Josh from elite. Never had a dull lesson and always enjoyed them. There was a great balance between friendliness and professionalism in every lesson as I was taught everything I needed to know in detail and till I’d nailed it, while also being able to get along with him really well. Had a lot of problems with getting a test and being able to do lessons due to the past years events but was always supported and made time for throughout the pandemic, particularly when I managed to get a late cancellation for my test after it was cancelled itself and pushed back and Josh managed to fit me in for a lesson every day, often an extended one, in the week before my test so that everything was covered and I was fully prepared for my test despite the short turn around. I managed to pass my test first time despite all the lockdowns and changing circumstances, so I can have no complaints at all as this was largely down to Josh making time for my lessons, the quality of the lessons, and how much I enjoyed them every week with him. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: After many years of not driving I had refresher lessons with Stuart, he was brilliant. Very friendly, knowledgeable and great at explaining things in a way that is easily understood. Despite having no confidence in my driving ability at the beginning, by the end of the session I felt confident to drive independently. Person I spoke to on the phone to book the lesson was also very helpful. Would highly recommend!

Negative experience: My son has had driving lessons with this company for over a year. He had a test booked for April which was unfortunately cancelled due to the covid situation . Lessons resumed in August at an increased price and a new test rebooked. One hour before the test the instructor texted to say his daughter was I'll so cancelled. No contact since. Now unable to arrange lessons for my son until January. Absolutely disgraceful and unprofessional. Would definitely not recommend. In reply to your response. I am a nurse working in a hospital so I am well aware of the devastation covid has caused. I am seeing it first hand and have done since March. Nowhere in the text sent from Mark did it mention rearranging a test or another instructor. Nor did he advise us to call the school, if so we would have, although I'm not sure what difference it would have made. Also, we don't live in South Cave. I have been unable to book lessons as other instructors are fully booked until January. The fee for the lesson was not reimbursed immediately as you say, we had to request Mark return the £54. After 5 days I'm assuming Mark and his family have been tested and he now has his results. I hope all are well and we see him back at work soon.
