He’s been incredibly patient, understanding while challenging me in the areas I’ve needed to improve and also supportive when things don’t go quite right. Fantastic experience: What a journey it's been! I started my driving lessons with Royal School of Motoring on the 24th of July, and from day one, the experience has been nothing short of fantastic. My first instructor, Jerome, was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, guiding me through 21 hours of lessons and providing me with a solid foundation. While I didn’t pass on my first attempt, Jerome's teaching gave me the confidence to keep going. After that, Ian, my second instructor, stepped in. With just 3 hours of lessons, he helped me fine-tune the areas where I went wrong, and his encouragement and advice really helped me turn things around. Thanks to his support, I passed my driving test on the 14th of October with only 2 minors! If you’re in the South East London area and looking for top-notch driving instruction at a great price, I wholeheartedly recommend Royal School of Motoring.

Fantastic experience: This was long overdue but I want to say a massive thanks to Aruna who I’ve had lessons with on two occasions, first one I left due to not getting enough lessons in close to test date but he had a family emergency so I understood. On second occasion, a voice which I believed to be God said that if I go back to Aruna I pass first time so I believed and it wasn’t easy because it was like shame on my part for leaving but I reached out to Aruna and he was soo happy to see me reach out to him. I had an incoming test and what was amazing was that he took me back on short notice done lessons with me and got my pass first time with him. If you want a chilled instructor with sense of humour who gives you the info and confidence to make you a better driver then Aruna is your guy.

Fantastic experience: Learning to drive in London isn't easy and Aruna made me feel comfortable and confident right from the offset. It took me a few attempts to pass, mostly down to test day nerves but Aruna was patient and believed in me. I finally passed on my 4th attempt, I have had a few driving instructors before going with Royal school of motoring and getting Ian and had a lot of bad habits that I needed to fix. Ian created a safe space for me to learn and guided me on how to not only drive but drive safely giving me realistic scenarios Royal school of motoring is the driving school you want to go to if you want to be a safe driver! And learn how to drive properly.

Fantastic experience: I’m very happy with Royal school of Motoring. My experience with them was great! They fulfilled my expectations, they were honest since the beginning about the waiting time for my instructor, which was not long compared to other driving schools and once I had my instructor allocated I got all of my sessions booked. My instructor Ian was great too, he was very responsible and helpful. He understood the goals I had in regards to my driving lessons as I was not a new driver. Ian made the lessons very enjoyable and the best part is that I passed my driving test first time having completed 5 hours with him! Overall, very happy with my experience with them.

Fantastic experience: I recently learnt to drive with Royal School of Motoring and had a great experience learning with Aruna. Being a nervous driver who learnt to drive later in life (age 29), Aruna completely put me at ease and guided me through to support me in my journey over the last 1 year. He was patient, very thorough and knowledgable, kind and encouraging (and I really needed all of the above because I was pregnant when I started learning and a stressed new mum when I passed!) I found the communication great, and he was always punctual and willing to be flexible if I needed it. Ian was committed to helping me learn to be a confident, safe driver for life. It wasn't just about doing the bare minimum to pass the test. As a woman driver, I'd also say that Ian was incredibly respectful, and I always felt safe in the car with him. Fantastic experience: I had Reuben as my instructor and passed on my 2nd attempt. Very patient and calm but gave thoughtful criticism when I did something wrong, he was also very good at explaining any questions I had during my lessons. I’m a very anxious driver and Reuben was the only instructor I had (previous ones from a different driving schools) where I felt comfortable enough in a car to drive around! Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had booked my driving test during the second lockdown and completely forgot about it. Barely 10 days before, I got a google reminder and I was worried I wouldn't find a school to help me this last minute. However, Royal School of Motoring was kind enough to accommodate me and even managed to provide 2 hours of training prior to the test. Ian was fantastic and he gave me so many good tips, particularly about shaking off my bad driving habits... Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I would give 10 stars if possible. Passed my driving test today in Erith. The office staff was very kind to begin with, and arranged my lessons with Ian. I have had previous instructors before, but Ian was very nice, teaching me not only the rules of the test, but why they are in place and why these makes us better drivers. I would definitely recommend Royal School of Motoring for their kind customer support and for the skills of their instructors.

Negative experience: They will allow you to do lessons. (3 months worth of lessons) Get confident usingn the car and then inform you that your instructor cant make your test day and theres no solution!!! Considering how HARD it is to get a test, the only option they had for me was to cancel my test!!!!!!!!! Go with another driving school!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous how they run a business!! Only good at taking your money and wasting your time. Thanks for nothing

Flexible through the pandemic and when I moved house out of area, I came back to Aruna after trying an instructor in my new area and was nowhere near as good. Can’t fault him or RSM with my lessons.

Fantastic experience: So glad I used RSoM for instruction prior to driving test. As a seasoned driver coming from the US, I’m delighted with the great advice, tips and instructions given before taking my test. The team was very courteous and friendly throughout the process. I commend the team for instructing me on the nuances of the test and re-enforcing to stop the small errors that we pick up along the way that are not test proper. I passed my test at Hither Green on my first go. I don’t think I would have without the fantastic instruction from Royal School of Motoring. Negative experience: Great and friendly service from office staff. But my instructor Reuben was lazy with no people skills or patience to go over areas where I struggled. He has no empathy or care for students. Before and after my test not even a good luck and didn’t even bother to ask how my test went. Not worth wasting your money specially as on day of test they ask you to pay £120 which is crazy to me.

Fantastic experience: A big thank you to my driving instructor BIGGY at the Royal school of Motoring. What a great instructor!!!I dont know how he does it. He never shows any frustration or impatience, especially when I have done silly things during the lesson. I started my lesson with BIGGY before the pandemic and then moved out of the area, but I just know I had to continue my lessons and pass my tests will BIGGY. His teaching style is so calming, he is very patient even when it took long for me to master certain manoeuvres, he explained again and again in a calm way how to do it, constantly calming me down when I was tired and nervous till I mastered it. He would not give up on me. He was always supportive and encouraging, there was never a awkward or dull lesson with him. His professionalism, customer service and teaching is 1st class. Thanks again BIGGY.

Fantastic experience: The best, very good lessons, good price and Biggy, the instructor, is the best! I have a few lessons and I passed at the first attempt in a difficult centre. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I did lessons around 30hrs of lessons with an instructor at Royal. To be fair, I thought the instructor was very good, friendly and easy to talk to. My issue lies with the school itself, and what happened on my test day. Royal have an incredibly overpriced and non-negotiable test package. They charged me £120 to take my test in the car that I had been learning in. This was supposed to include a pick up and drop off by the instructor, 1.5hrs of lessons before the test and the car hire for the test itself. This is a blatant rip off, as hiring a car for your test is no different from hiring it for a lesson. You'll be told lies about the additional cost, saying it's to insure the examiner etc. but that's not true in the slightest. In reality the school just want more money from you. The instructor couldn't pick me up on the day of my test, so I agreed to meet them at the test center. There was also an electrical fault with the car, which meant I was standing outside of a garage for half an hour. We only left 20 mins BEFORE my test. Nobody wants that unnecessary stress before their practical test. You would've thought that since what was promised in the test package wasn't delivered, some sort of discount would be given - but no. Instead, I had a man being argumentative, condescending and sarcastic over the phone, refusing to provide any form of compensation or even show an interest in what I had to say. I appreciate that I may have had an isolated experience, but just be careful that something similar doesn't happen to you.

Fantastic experience: Aruna is an amazing teacher. My first lesson was very enjoyable and he predicted that I would be ready for my test in 10 to 15 lessons which I was thanks to his teaching skills. Due to COVID it took me slightly longer to complete my driving test but I was able to pass it first time and only needed 2 to 3 lessons of practice, only to get used to the car again. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: I have spent some time with Reubeon before my driving test. I am not a new driver, as I have an international driving license issued from my own country. He has given me clear and comprehensive understanding on London's driving requirements, as well as tips. He is absolutely a funny and professional instructor. Fantastic experience: A bit of a late post but royal school of motoring are the best. Previously i was with 1st school of motoring in 2015 the instructor was not great(my personal experience), so i left it till later and starting taking lessons in November 2017. I had a great instructor Ian Gay. He instilled such confidence in me that i saw great improvements. And with only 20 lessons i took my first test. I failed but what was critical was we worked on the mistakes i made and by my 4th test i finally passed. I cannot thank Ian and the team at royal enough. They demostrated great punctuality, professionalism and overall great service. Remeber your liscence is your oyster to the world dont abuse it or you will lose it.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Reuben. He was a brilliant instructor. He has lot of experience. His teaching style is great. He really made me feel relaxed, he didn't put me under pressure, but when constructive criticism was required, he delivered it in a positive way. His sense of humour made the lessons fun. I passed first time and I couldn't have done it without Reuben.

Negative experience: Had some lessons with a guy called Mark around 15 years ago, awful man, booked quite a few lessons with him at the beginning and he did all he could to get out of driving. Once the wheel deflated and he used my time to get it fixed. I told Royal and I got no response. I hope they have improved and stopped using Mark.

Fantastic experience: Another 5* review for Aruna, who I cannot recommend highly enough. I passed first time yesterday thanks to him! He is a great instructor, very calm (which is needed when driving in rush hour around Lewisham), supportive and fun! I also really appreciated that I was able to have lessons after work in the evenings and at the weekends which other driving schools did not seem to offer. Fantastic experience: My instructor was Aruna. He's very patient and never put me under pressure. I believe this is very important when learning. He was very supportive and 95% on time. I passed 1st time. I did not feel I was fully prepared on the day but he gave me the confidence. The only advice I'd give is if in doubt: ask... and then ask again.

Fantastic experience: Having failed my first test elsewhere the previous year, I was nervous getting back into driving, and had only 3 weeks available for lessons while I was in London. I had quite a lot of anxiety when it came to driving, but my driving instructor Aruna was patient and was very good with helping me sorting out things here and there, without putting any pressure on me to perform. And even when I made mistakes the lesson before the test, there was no sign of disappointment or anything, he just showed me the correct way to do things, and left me to get on with it. And that's why when I took the test I felt less pressure, and could remember the things he had reminded me about, and so I passed the test.

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my test, I highly recommend Royal driving school especially my instructor Aruna who was incredibly patient with me and encouraged me to continue with my lessons after my initial failures. Thanks to Aruna and Royal driving school i finally have my license.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic discovery. I am extremely overjoyed in meeting the wonderful personnel at Royal School of Motoring Lewisham. My concern of the hazard perception test is where it all began. Noticing that this school offered practical help for the hazard perception test I made that life changing phone call. The provision of being able to practice at their office got me booking lessons immediately. Now at the office I meet one of the three receptionists Debbie. A fantastic person who broke my fear of this test by instilling into my mentality that once you practice the hazard perception you will notice the scoring patterns. This she patiently helps me learn. Unexpected I passed the driving theory thanks to Debbie. To add she is a great person to talk to. With some driving hours behind me I am just looking to time my knowledge up. I am again at the office and I have another brilliant encounter with Sharn at the desk. Again a very warm, easygoing woman who immediately wins you over with her warm bright persona which comes across as honest at the same time. She in turn introduces me to driving instructor Aruna. The connection is immediate... Within minutes I am driving with a heightened confidence. His teaching approach is effortless with minimum but effective words. Extremely memorable with the difficulty of driving made text form simple. What wins me over is his patient kindness which allows you to relax and learn more effectively. Aruna is simply brilliant and great fun to be around. I am so happy to discover this fantastic driving school. Michael A MckMcKen

Fantastic experience: I passed!!! Today I never thought I could pass my driving but with the great help from Aruna, I did it with just 20 lesson. Aruna has been very supportive through this journey. He helped me build my confidence and always encourage to take bold steps and learning new things. Aruna always pushs me to learn new skills and explore different types of roads. NO TIME WASTING at all. Thank you Sir for the patience and understanding you have shown during the past few months.

Fantastic experience: Recently passed my test first time after 10 lessons with Aruna. Great instructor as he's very patient and very experienced. He'll put you through your paces and identify strengths and weaknesses in order to improve on them. Highly recommend the school and Aruna if you want to save money on multiple driving tests and pass first time!

Fantastic experience: Just passed with this brilliant driving school. I had Aruna as my instructor and he couldn’t have been any better!!! I have had a few in the past and he is by far the best instructor I’ve had. I suffer from a lot of anxiety and he always made me feel at ease and calmed me down when I got panicked.
