5DAY Leeds Intensive Driving Courses

Fantastic experience: I attended 5Day for my driving course last week and loved every moment. I want to say a massive thank you to my instructor Shaheen for my manual lessons, I was really nervous on my first day but from the off she put me at ease. Shaheen has taught me so much within the week and made me confident, she is an absolute credit to 5Day! My practical test is in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to it. If anyone is thinking of going for the course then I would definitely recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Negative experience: My dad paid for me a course with five day driving school , my course way 5 days in the week and should have started at 10am. My instructor was Mo. I was asked if I could come to my lessons earlier if I did not mind, so I did and was starting lessons as early as 7.30 am. My instructor told me for the full five days that I was doing great and my driving was safe and up to standard!!!! When the five days had ended he told me I would need more lessons on roundabouts ( but did not tell me this on my lessons in the five day and did no intense training on roundabouts in them five days ) but then followed by saying but you are fine to do the test in your own vehicle now .. so confusing . I carried on having lessons at 80 pound a go after paying over 1200 for the course. Mo had no time for my lessons through the week with all sorts of excuses , so I was doing lessons at 5am 6am in the morning before work , I told mo this was too early for me but seemed I did not have a choice in the matter… I was texting mo over and over and getting ignored constantly which I do have the proof and messages. When I did finally get a response I was told my lesson was at 6am , I text mo that morning to see if we was still on and I had no reply to then be told he left his work phone at home , I was paying for two hour lessons and always finished 20 mins early which I also have proof for as I was calculating the distance on my phone and tracking times. Maybe if I had a different instructors this may have worked out but just feels like a scam for money and once they have your money they are not bothered !!!!! !!!!! DO NOT USE THIS DRIVING SCHOOL !!!!!

Negative experience: I’ll start with my booking reference LE-WXMYG, considering I’ve seen other reviews replied to as not considered genuine without it. I attended a 5 day course 1/4 - 5/4 and couldn’t be more disgusted with my experience. Instructor was an hour late on the first day. The entire time I was being micromanaged and wasn’t allowed to freely learn. My instructor, Deeba, was incredibly concerned about her car throughout, never moved her foot away from the break so this stayed hovered the entire time and carried out dangerous manoeuvres when no intervention was necessary. You are provided with a score card from 1 to 5. As each day went by she ticked them off as 1, day 1. 2, day 2 and so on. on the Thursday I decided my partner and I would insure my car at home and see how I do without the instructors intervention. Within 10 minutes he realised I was swerving and constantly checking my mirrors. This is when he enlightened me you shouldn’t check mirrors for road positioning and use a reference on the dash board (Deeba failed to teach me this) after being informed this I did absolutely fine. I informed Deeba on the Friday, my last day, my experience and if she could keep her foot off the break and trust me to drive independently. She instantly got defensive and rude. We then didn’t talk the rest of the day and I had to ask for feedback for the remaining. I decided to record my last hour due to her attitude being unacceptable. There were 45minutes of recorded evidence with 0 instruction and independent driving. At the end of the course she asked if I had any questions, I then proceeded to ask what would happen now. She replied I’d need further lessons with 0 feedback as to where my strong or week points were, what I needed practice with and disregarded the score card and left. I paid £1120, or £54 an hour and no where was the relevant value given. This money was just for the driving, no administrative duties included or theory as I passed myself a month prior. Majority of instructors are £36 - £39. Do not waste your time. I have rung to complain and was provided an email where they received a much more in-depth experience. I’ll be waiting the 7 days for a manager to respond and after this time, will be taking this further. As of right now, I feel like I just threw my money away and can’t begin to explain how sad I am with how much I saved up for this experience. I’ll also add, before someone replies to this review with the terms and conditions stating I should have rung during the course. I also had a bad experience with a very rude customer service advisor, Karen, prior to my driving. Due to the instructor being late, her making excuses up that there was standstill traffic (it was bank holiday and I had been driven up 40 minutes away 15 minutes prior, the roads were very quiet). I’m not confrontational and suffer with anxiety so this was off putting. Also when I did ring to put in a complaint or asked to speak to a manager this was disregarded and I was provided an email to express my concerns.

Fantastic experience: My 5day intensive course at Leeds was excellent, I would 100% recommend this to anyone. I had booked on the 4th of March and managed to get a slot for week commencing 25th March! My instructor Shabana has helped me massively, I was a complete beginner on Monday (and very nervous) and by Friday I was confidently driving with little instruction. Throughout every lesson Shabana has made sure I have been comfortable even when she was pushing me. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who feels anxious or nervous about driving on the road. During the mornings I had 2 hour theory training with Aqib, he explained everything whilst going through the slides and giving examples to further my understanding. I have consistently been achieving above the pass rates for both the theory and hazard perception mock tests. I am now confident in going ahead with my theory test on Saturday. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the intensive course and cannot state enough how happy I am to have done it!

Fantastic experience: First of all, I would like to recommend my instructor Shabana, who is the real reason I am giving a 5 star review. Looking across peoples experiences, I do feel that your experience with 5day is only as good as your instructor. I can not fault mine. Although test ready for some time, I finally passed my manual test on the third time (3.11.23). The first two tests just didn't go my way, and i dont feel any shame when the national pass rate is under 50%. I was ready for all three, but anxiety ruined my first, and now realise how much I have grown since then, when I look back happy knowing that I am a much safer driver, not just an able driver. The ability was always there after finishing my 5 days, but my perception and reaction to traffic have vastly improved since. The tests themselves are very different experiences in themselves, and each test was very different. Consistancy, patience, and persistance get you through and all qualities my instructor gave me. Shabana re-built my confidence after any knockbacks and molded me into a much more natural and instinctive driver with her expertise, leadership, guidance, and support. I think this is more important than just being able to pass. Shabana has been a fundamental reason for any success. She has at times gone above and beyond and always made time to get the pass. She never stopped believing in me. I have been happy to continue with her until I passed for the very reason she will stop at nothing to get the pass too, she cares about her students and gives everything she can to make sure you are ready to pass. She's genuine, honest, full of heart, and stands by you until the certificate is in your hand. If you're willing to give your best effort, she gives hers until successful, and in success, she screams with excitement and happiness as loud as her student. Im a little sad, knowing I will not be driving in Shabana's car with her now. What an experience, driving her around for no reason other than to keep getting better at driving her around it's been a beautiful human experience. My very best driving was with her before my test, before the axiety kicked in again on the test, but by being even better, I got through it with success. For all the ups and downs, I look back and appreciate every moment knowing my driving has matured, safer, and more well-rounded. It's been a pleasant ride in her car, even when at times, it has been challenging. I have doubted myself at times but can honestly say I have never doubted her. If you're reading this Shabana, thank you for all the time and energy you have given me and for encouraging me and standing by me, pushing me forwards into today, we finally reached our destination. I cherish the memories of learning with you. .......................... 5 day have been okay, but as a company, I must say I dont interact with them much and never have. I had passed my theory previous to joining and am happy not to have needed the classroom (even though it's included and not deducted from cost, which is a little sad). Once I signed up, I really was only with my instructor intensley. I am very grateful for the 5day company for putting me with Shabana and for Shabana staying with me long after my 5 day course had finished, to ensure my success. On the test booking, I wish 5day office could give a quick call when booking a test as you dont have much chance to choose or confirm a date, after you have said which date you are free from. Although mostly free, there was a clash with other parts of my life, like my motorcycle test day ("A2B motorcycle training" are amazing and worked around 5days rigidness amazingly and dont charge to rebook, like the government don't, but 5day do). Maybe 5day could include an area on the form of dates you are unable to attend. I feel this part could be done better. Otherwise, i have not had a problem.

Fantastic experience: Definitely gets my vote. Very professional throughout starting from arrival on the first day. The structure of the course is very well designed to improve your ability with not only the practical driving side but also the theory. This applies to all abilities and experience. I am a middle aged learner who has (HAD) severe anxiety issues when it comes not only to driving, but even to getting in a car. My instructor for the week Aquib instantly put me at ease and allowed me the time to make mistakes and gradually build my confidence. Unbelievably with Aquib's fantastic guidance and reassurance I was driving on busy urban roads by the afternoon of day 1, this would have been unthinkable for me a week earlier. By the end of the week I was confidently driving a car independently on busy roads and able to perform all manoeuvres correctly when instructed. The day after I completed the 5 day training, I sat my theory test. I passed with above 95% scores in both the theory and hazard perception modules. I will be applying for a practical test very soon and will update this review. I would 100% recommend this course to any driver, at any point in their learner driving journey. This will not only give you the tools to become a successful and safe driver, but if you're like me it will also give you much more self confidence and self esteem that will benefit you in other aspects of your day to day life. A huge thank you to Aquib and everyone else at 5day Leeds.

Fantastic experience: Recently did an intensive course in Farsley in an Automatic. Shaheen was my instructor for the week. Passed my test a few days ago. I just wanted to leave Shaheen a message to thank her for all her help. Shaheen was an amazing instructor. She taught me alot and i wouldn't have passed without her help. She helped me alot with my general driving and taught me some great techniques. She was very patient with me and very easy to get along with. She gave me some great advice and feedback. I was very nervous at the start of the course but she helped me settle very quickly. I can't speak highly enough of her. Very grateful for all her help.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE! Very unprofessional, rude, insincere customer service. Shocking driving instructors again- rude, patronising and unprofessional. It’s all about the money! Lack of care about service or human decency. I would NOT RECOMMEND, waste of money, time, stress. False advertising-you don’t get what you pay for, you are better off just doing the lessons and test search your self. They are just money robbing people!

Fantastic experience: Would 100% recommend doing the 5 day intensive course not only do you get your theory included but the instructors are amazing! So kind, helpful and welcoming. My instructor was Mo and we had such a laugh while doing my lessons! I passed on my second test and the test waiting list was much quicker!

Negative experience: TERRIBLE - do not use. Completely insincere, more interested about the money than the service. I am making a formal complaint and taking legal action.

Fantastic experience: Booked mycourse with 5 day and with doing so i have alot more confidence in passing, i was struggling with my therory questions and all the hard work from aqib khan has got my scores all wee well above the pass mark. He was very proffesional and knew how to teach the right way i would strongly reccomend this course and having aqib learn you. Fantastic experience: I completed the 5day course in Leeds having had no previous driving experience and passed after further lessons with Aqib, driving around Pudsey, Horsforth and the Bradford area. Aqib was fantastic throughout and made himself available for further lessons at weekends and evenings. Aqib was very friendly, personable and professional, not only teaching me how to pass my test but to become a competent and confident driver. Passed with 2 minors.

Fantastic experience: I attended 5 day for my theory and automatic driving course in Pudsey and have literally just passed 1st time no minors about an hour ago. The theory lessons were very informative and very easy to follow, having the test on the final day. Shaheen was an absolute Saint as an instructor I honestly couldn't of asked for a better person sat next to me. She completely made me feel at ease throughout the whole 5 days and made sure I was test ready. She helped me focus on my faults to make sure when that test came, I'd pass first time. She put me at ease every step of the way. Thank you so much 5 day and Shaheen Such an amazing experience got the lessons and both tests done within 4 weeks! I'd definitely recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: I have dyslexia and adhd my instructor knows this. end of day two my instructor told me to try harder if I didnt I wasnt going to pass! I can take criticism but not un founded condesending statements like that . I taken unpaid leave and spent 1200 on this course. This put a massive dent in my already low confidence I couldnt continue the course. 5day wouldnt switch instructors or change dates. They told me I didnt give her a chance to explain. I did in the car, she back tracked saying she meant I need to go.slower. No the two sentences are very different. No one should be telling any student to try harder and put extra pressure on day 2 by saying theyre going to fail! Its insulting, discouraging, condesending and plain wrong. EDIT: re response from 5 day not dennying your instructor did this to me I see . At the time I was so upset I didnt know what to do.All I wanted was a change of dates to use the remaining hours on another course with a new instructor you said that wasnt possible.

Fantastic experience: Recently used 5day to learn to drive and pass all in less than 3 months. I booked my course last year and had a few problems with the admin side along the way. During the time the booking side of things was a bit of my mess but my instructor Shabana at Farsley was amazing. I went from never driving a manual before to getting test ready in a week however due to me being busy got a test in February. I passed first time and I have become a safe confident driver. Shabana always made time for me and made up time if she was a few minutes late which is what makes a good experience. I would recommend to anyone and would definitely recommend Shabana again and again. I passed 1st time with 3 minors and couldn’t be happier especially with the long waiting lists for tests at the moment. Overall very happy and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Terrible , my son booked a lesson with a maddie khan and due to having the covid vaccine was unwell and unable to attend the lesson, she is still demanding £70 from him which is disgusting to expect a 17 year old boy to pay for !!

Fantastic experience: My instructor was the best SHABANA you are one in a million A fantastic course would be highly recommended to anyone wanting to learn to drive and pass their theory and practical test, great instructors and classroom staff. No pressure at all and easy to do, just turn up listen and learn and before you know it you will be driving. :) would highly recommend it to anyone 5day is the only best. He is a FANTASTIC instructor and made everything seem so simple. With all the delays it took me 2 months in total to pass. Fantastic experience: I did my week with Aqib Kahn, who was excellent at knowing just how much to tell me to make myself push harder, although he also made sure that if i ever needed it he was right there to guide me further.

Positive experience: My instructor was Aqib Khan. I had a great time learning and by the end of the week I could really see my improvement in my driving. It’s a great course to learn to drive quickly. On booking the course I was under the impression that I would be taking my test by the end of the week or even in the next three weeks. Sadly, at the end of the week, I was not test ready and even if I had been test ready, I wouldn’t be able to do my test until a month from now because of the delays in tests due to the pandemic. I really wish I was taking my test and passing but circumstances won’t allow it.

Fantastic experience: Whether you are a beginner or had some lessons the course is perfect for getting you very very close to passing your driving test. Classroom gives you a lot of knowledge for theory and you have lots of driving to practice. Definitely recommend but you have to be prepared to put your focus in as it's a full on week.

Fantastic experience: Aqib was my instructor and he was great across the week, taking me from very basic driving round an estate on the Monday to driving at national speed limits and between around Leeds and Bradford by Friday. I was nervous but he was super patient and fun and I'm booking my follow on lessons with him until I feel ready to take the test. He also did the theory training which was good and I passed first time. Would defo recommend if you want to make rapid progress with driving to get pass ready.

Negative experience: Hello, I recently booked a course through yourselves, 5Day on the 6th of July to the 10th of July at the Leeds branch in LS28 5UJ sunny bank mills. I would like to make a complaint, starting with firstly the woman who was managing the course was late every single day Maheeda Khan was her name, on top of that she was very rude and just didn’t seem to be bothered. There was an email sent to us about being late too which was very rich when the manager was late every day no apology, it’s an actual joke. She even gave us a funny look when we looked at her because she knew she was in the wrong and was late. To pay £1047 I expected to be picked up and dropped off too from my home too not being lazy but for more experience driving seen as we are paying so much money but no we would pay potentially £10 in a taxi there and £10 back another £100 wasted because they don’t do what any basic instructor does. We also didn’t get our breaks we were meant to get from 9:45-10am and 2:30pm-3pm because they wanted to go home once again not bothered about us whatsoever. The “theory lessons” was just Maheeda flicking through slides quickly and saying after every slide ‘you got that? Good’ before we even got a chance to speak. She was too bothered about getting through the slides to sit at the back of the class on her phone whilst we “practiced”. Then we would meet our instructors at 10am but again they were late everyday, sometimes we wouldn’t start till 10:15am which is wasted learning and driving time. The afternoon class was a load of rubbish too, the guy who was running the afternoon because maheeda “couldn’t be bothered” quoted from the man running the afternoon class was the exact same he’d rush through the slides and sit at the back on his phone too! The driving itself wasn’t the issue the instructors seemed to be quite good when they actually arrived but i just feel like the whole experience has been ruined. My instructors name is Shabana Rajid. She was also not being very professional to other students and I quote “the girl in front definitely won’t be passing her test look at her” she would even talk to the other students instructor behind her back and come and tell me what they’re saying and it was all negative and unprofessional behaviour! We would go on “lunch” early everyday not by my choice but by my instructor so loosing out of more driving time she actually didn’t seem to be all that bothered she just would tell me how bored she was and how she couldn’t wait to go home! That’s actually disgustingly rude telling me, her student who’s paid over £1000 of my money that I work hard to earn that she’s bored. I also asked her for contact details for head office whether it be a phone number or email and she told me that she doesn’t have one which is a lie in itself. Also the waiting list for the previous cancelled tests are exceeding 200,000 so I’m guessing it’ll be months and months before I get to do my test which means more lessons which also leads me into my next point, the website advertises “free lessons if you fail either tests” but no where does it say that between your end of course and test date that I’ll have to pay an hourly rate to our instructors who by the way my instructor and I quote “it’s £25 an hour but I don’t do hour lessons so you’ll have to book 2 hours”. An extra £50 a time seriously! I have been absolutely scammed out of my money and would like either a free lesson plan every single time until my test or a full refund! I will be telling anyone who asks me to recommend a driving course such as yours to avoid it with all costs because it’s a scam I feel totally and utterly gutted that I’ve spent all that money and I’ll have to spend more and more money just to even get close to passing my practical exam! Feel like I’ve been played out of my money like they’ve took my money not been bothered and got me out that door as soon as possible.

Fantastic experience: Very professional stuff, good teachers and teaching techniques. Pass my theory on first time and I think that’s just because the 5Day. Now I’m waiting till Wednesday to do my practical test, witch is extremely fast, and I’m very satisfied about that. Highly recommend to everyone!

Negative experience: Shocking experience at 5Day, Farsley Leeds. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! They don't offer a practical test so really you just get 5 days of consecutive driving lessons (4 hours per day) which isn't explained on the website. Dividing the hours by the cost meant it was £43.80 per hour! Double of a normal driving lesson...which is what the service is given there's no practical. I had already done my Theory Test and given it says on their website "With a Theory Test on the course (if required)" I didn't think this was a problem. It was. I had 6-7 hours in the classroom which was totally irrelevant and yet I still had to pay. I did get to leave at 3 every day rather than 5 but still had morning lessons. My experience in the car was the most shocking thing about it. I was messed around with instructors due to another student's admin issues which wasted almost 2 hours of my time. When i was finally given an instructor his car was a bomb shell, he was so patronising constantly saying "I hope you remember that" and when I didn't remember (because you know...first time in a car) i was scolded and he wasn't prepared to tell me twice, he grabbed at my wheel in excess of 10 times per day...for all 5 days! Not because I was a poor driver, because he just didn't do verbal instruction. When i brought this to the classroom teacher's attention he laughed and said his English wasn't great. His English was fine abd to be honest if his communication wasn't up to scratch he'd be in the wrong job. This constant grabbing at my wheel made me incredibly anxious and the whole experience was awful. I complained to the classroom teacher daily about incidents that happened the day before and each time he smirked and said he'd speak to the instructor. He didn't until day 4. Nothing improved afterwards anyway. There was an incident on day 1 where I saw an ambulance approaching with blue lights on. I slowed down and the instructor told me off. He didn't see it. A few minutes later a teenage boy stepped into my path, again I pressed the breaks and the instructor questioned why. He didn't see the pedestrian either. This was day 1! On day 2 I was going down a hill that had a speed camera on it. Instead of telling me the effect the hill had on the car or to watch speed cameras or to remind me of the speed limit he simply said: 'you were speeding then, that's a fine and 3 points on your licence. It will move onto your other licence when you pass. If you speed again your licence will be revoked'. Naturally I was panicked and scared. I went home and researched it and felt it was incredibly unfair that after 5 hours of driving the instructor didn't even try to help in a situation that was alien to me. The list goes on and on. I tried to change instructors within the course and was told I can't, I reported everything every day to the classroom teacher and I reported my experience to the Customer Service team who dismissed it entirely. A few emails later the only thing they were prepared to offer me was a free assessment lesson...I'm not getting in another 5day vehicle after my experience. In fact, my experience with 5day means I'm so anxious at getting in a car now I'm set back months, not to mention the money I've wasted. When I do feel ready to get behind a wheel again it will not be with this company. I'll be taking normal lessons, at a reasonable rate. 5day didn't save me time or money at all...it cost me financially, a weeks holiday and above all it cost me my confidence.

Positive experience: Just spent a week here and it was great, passed my theory first time and now waiting for my practical test date. I was lucky to have a really good instructor. However, I feel that without experience driving beforehand this course will be quite hard.

Positive experience: Excellent theory tuition - went from 0 theory exprience to passing with flying colours. Useful driving tuition in large chunks to allow quick progression towards the correct standard. 4 hours of driving can be intense though with little break.

Fantastic experience: Had a great week with the 5day team; complete beginner (only two hours of driving experience around a year ago). Very nervous and anxious behind the wheel but my instructor was brilliant and helped me through all of that. Although I don't personally feel confident enough to book my practical test, I certainly feel a hell of a lot closer to that goal. The theory side of the training was great also, but as with all homework, you must be prepared to put as much effort in at home as you do in the classroom! I passed with flying colours after worrying that I wouldn't! Would definitely recommend for other beginner drivers as the staff are really friendly and tailor the training to suit your needs.

Positive experience: I went to the Leeds 5day driving course. Credit where it is due, the course prepares you really well for your driving theory test. You don't experience as much driving as you think you will for the price you pay for the course. You get about 4 hours per day. Even though I did pass first time when I eventually took my test, given the circumstances, I think it was down to my own capabilities than anything else. My instructor in general was good and put me at ease while I made potentially dangerous mistakes on the road. However, there are a few things that need to get addressed. He was late on more than 1 occasion, frequently late back from lunch, and I lost an hour of driving as he had to attend a practical test for a student booked from a previous week. During one of my lessons, my driving instructor was more concerned about his broken new phone linking to the Bluetooth in his car than paying attention to the road while I was driving. This made me very uncomfortable and nervous as I was not confident driving at that stage. As for the 'show me, tell me' questions instead of going through them with me and demonstrating the answers to me as he should have, I was pretty bemused when he asked me to youtube them instead. Despite all of this, at the end of the 5 days, I had intially rated the course highly, because the course got me to a good standard for my theory and honestly, my overall experience was not too bad. Unfortunately, I had to change my review to 3 stars due to the stresses that came afterwards with my practical test booking as arranged by 5day. My practical test was booked on a date that was 2 weeks away, which normally would have been fine with me but unfortunately, it was also booked on a day that I had another important commitment and 5day were not co-operative - in either changing it to a nearer OR further date, nor to a different test centre. The only option they gave me was to cancel it all together. So I used my own initiative, logged on to the government website, and manually got the test centre changed to a local one in Edinburgh (I travelled from edinburgh to Leeds specifically for the driving course). I then hired a dual control car which I had never driven before on roads that I have never driven on or seen and passed first time. Overall I think the course is okay and ofcourse everyone's experience will vary but it is not for everyone. It worked well for me despite what I have mentioned above because I am okay with concentrating for long periods of time and pick up things easily. If you are easily distracted or need lots of practice before picking things up, this course may not be for you.

Fantastic experience: pleasent, and helpfull before this course i failed my theory twice, this course give me the ability to pass my theory on the first try and pass my test second time round but from start to finish it took me 6 2 week.

Fantastic experience: I came to the course fairly nervous, however i was warmly greeted at the door and made to feel at ease straight away. Having already passed my theory test i didn't get as much out of the theory sessions as others, however, it was still good to brush up on a few things. Driving for 4/5 hours a day felt very tiring at first, but by the end i really felt the benefits of an intensive course and would recommend to others.

I was wary of these intensive courses as I didn't see how you could fit everything into such a short space of time but Simon's way of teaching had me driving around well by the end of day 1.

The classroom sessions were very detailed but easy to understand, Maddeha was very nice and easy to get along with. In terms of my practical course I had an instructor Stuart who was exceptional in every aspect. From the cleanliness of the vehicle to his user friendly instructions he made me at ease with something that seemed so foreign to me initially. I'd reccomend this course to anyone providing they have had at least 5 hours experience in theory and practical prior to it. Just as there is a lot to learn in such a short time.

Fantastic experience: The course overall is very good at preparing novice drivers for there practical and theory tests.However,if you haven't yet done your theory test but you feel quite confident you may consider doing theory test before attending as almost 3 hours of each day is spent looking at theory work.The practical driving instructors are amazing and my instructor(Theresa) Was exactly who i needed in order to bring my skills up to a good enough level while also maintaining safety.I was consistently challenged with different scenarios and in 5 days learnt more than i could of in 40 with a regular instructor.So if booking this course again i would definitely try to get Theresa.
