Fantastic experience: Had struggled in the past with driving schools but Andy has been great. He remained calm and clear when giving instruction. Explained everything in a way that was concise and easy to put into practice. I was very nervous for my test initially but was given the confidence and passed first time. Fantastic experience: I would like to recommend Phil and Paul from Cowley’s as the most patient and experienced driving instructors. I was absolutely terrified when I started lessons due to being involved in a car crash previously. With a lot of patience and care from both these brilliant instructors, today I passed my driving exam. It was my first attempt, and I had 2 small driving faults. Very thankful to have met them, extremely pleased with the result!

Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience with Sean as my driving instructor. He was brilliant at picking up on the aspects of driving that I was struggling with and tailoring his lessons to suit my specific needs. A very calm and practical instructor. If you're someone who really struggles with test nerves and the mental aspects of driving, I cannot recommend him enough. He set me up with such solid driving experience that I was able to pass my test even though I was super nervous. I've failed multiple tests before but passed the first test I took with Sean as my instructor. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I requested a female instructor and they replied same day with availability for me to start in the next couple of days. My instructor Joanne was so so lovely and understood my anxiety around starting to learn how to drive again at the age of 27. She made me feel so comfortable and soon my confidence was up, and with her help i passed my test first time a few months later. Life changing!!! Can’t thank her enough and totally would suggest using them to a friend. Thanks again

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful experience! Joanne is a phenomenal instructor. I was directed to her as I have additional needs linked to health conditions both physical and mental, meaning I required a female instructor who was patient. She was patient and so much more; kind, always incredibly calm, took time to learn the ways in which I learnt information best, gently encouraging and honest. Above all she maintained an unwaveringly high level of professionalism throughout our time together.

Fantastic experience: After many many years of stopping and starting, and always chickening out on the test, I finally bit the bullet and decided now is the time. Cowleys set me up with Matt, who was able to keep me relaxed, safe and in control. His calm and firm manner and ability to teach knowledge and practical skills meant that when the time came, I was able to finally pass my practical exam with only 1 minor. I cannot recommend Cowley’s & Matt enough. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: If you get the chance to, I would 100% recommend choosing Matt as you’re driving instructor. I managed to pass my practical driving test with only 2 faults due to Matt’s effective teaching techniques. Matt’s teaching was extremely effective for me because of the way in which he allowed me to answer my own questions. If I was still confused, he would then take the time to explain each detail in good depth. I have learnt so much from Matt and he has made me a really good driver. I would definitely recommend getting in touch with him through Cowley’s as he is an extremely nice individual who clearly knows how to successfully teach. He’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning to drive with Cowley's School of Motoring. My instructor, Elaine, was incredibly helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. I started learning to drive because I thought it was a necessity, not because I enjoyed it. I now really enjoy it, and can't wait to get my own car. The lesson prices were the best in Exeter, and the app functioned very well, allowing me to book lessons with ease at times that were convenient for me. Overall, a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend.

I went with Cowley’s and had Andy as my instructor and what a bloody bloke he is. He squashed any fears doubts ect I ever had. Made me feel at ease and confident within my driving. Fantastic experience: As an slightly older learner, I had built up alot of worry about driving. I had learnt with a more assertive instructor with a manual gearbox but I was getting nowhere. Learning in an antomatic with Elaine's calmer approach I found it alot easier. She always remained calm and explained things really well and gave me the confidence to pass. I would hesitate to recommend Elaine to anyone wanting to drive. Thank you so much for all your help and support Elaine.

Fantastic experience: Honestly!!! My experience has been so rewarding with Sean.. He has been extremely encouraging and supportive. When I joined Cowley’s my goal was to have 2 lessons and take my test , funny huh. Then SEAN told me I was not ready.. I am so glad I listened to his judgement and followed his instructions. One thing about Sean, He would leave room for you to still make your own decision but how when He is your instructor and sees your faults. All in all I would gladly recommend SEAN to anyone. Fantastic experience: Hi! I just passed my driving exam today (first take). My instructor is Phil and he is really awesome. I had driving lessons before with 2 different driving schools but it was really different when I started with Cowley’s. Phil has the strategies how to understand the road and the manoeuvre. He is strict and will definitely teach you the right way to drive which I find really helpful. I can’t thank him enough for supporting me, giving me options on delaying the exam and positive feedbacks besides all my struggles. He did not give up on me when I was really stressed. Fantastic experience: Can’t rate highly enough. So professional, patient, relaxed and adaptable. Our son progressed so quickly under Phil and enjoyed every minute! Really understood different learning styles and how to get the best! A first time pass!

Negative experience: Don't answer the phone or call back. Ask you to leave a message either by phone or WhatsApp. Read your message and don't reply despite regularly being online. Can't comment on the teaching as didn't get that far. But here's a 1 star for shocking customer service

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend Cowleys school for any learner driver especially for anyone who is anxious to learn. I had Sean as my instructor and I passed first time, he was very patient and never got frustrated if I made a mistake and always helped me to improve my driving he also encouraged me never to give up.
