Fantastic experience: Amazing driving experience with 1st Castle with my driving instructor David Robinson! Made every lesson enjoyable and really helped me gain my confidence on the roads. Passed first time with only a few minors with Dave.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Steve Pearce enough. I had a bad experience with an instructor at another driving school, but Steve’s way of instructing makes you think and really understand your mistakes, so the lessons stick. He’s incredibly patient, explains everything clearly, and helped me fix bad habits I’d picked up before. On top of that, he's got a great sense of humour and always made me feel comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for him—he really went out of his way to help. Thanks to Steve, I passed with just 2 minors! If you’re looking for a driving instructor, Steve Pearce’s your guy. I couldn’t recommend him enough—thanks so much!

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if I could. Neil seemed disinterested, bored and is quite frankly a rubbish teacher. Spent 72 quid driving up and down a deserted Goring road for 2 hours with someone who offered no constructive critism or help. Don't waste your money and get someone engaging and helpful. Absolute toot. Spent most of the lesson staring into the abyss and offering no help what so ever. AVOID.

Dear Richard, I am sorry to hear you were unhappy with the service you received from our instructor Neil. We take any complaints and criticisms seriously and endeavour to put matters right if we find we are at fault, hence the hundreds of 5 star reviews from past satisfied customers. We do have a complaints process: 1) Discuss your complaint with the instructor. 2) In the event your instructor cannot resolve your complaint then to contact ourselves so we may look into the matter for you. 3) If still unresolved you may contact the DVSA complaints department and will be happy to provide their address as ALL of our instructors are regulated and licensed and therefore answerable! You did not complain either to Neil or ourselves and resorted to social media as is your right. We also wish to exercise our right to reply. We discussed your complaint with Neil and he fiercely denies your account of the lesson adding that you had a rather inflated opinion of your driving standard and you appeared to take offence when he tried to correct some basic observation faults such as the need to check your mirrors and carry out a right shoulder observation check before moving off, Either way this sounds like it is simply a clash of personalities which we could have easily have resolved with an alternative instructor who you may gel with better as we are all different, and probably at no cost to yourself as we want you to have a good experience. In conclusion, Neil has worked within the company for over twenty years and has achieved hundreds of test passes, many of those were first time! We also have a team of thirty plus other instructors who put their hearts into the job they love so any non constructive criticism aimed at them is completely unjustified. Fantastic experience: I don't think I could have asked for a better instructor than Alan, from the first phone call I got from him, I knew the lessons where going to be fun as well as educational. Every lesson felt like a goal to be achieved, and Alan certainly let's you know when you've aced it to his standards. When I failed my first test and I was upset, he came up with the battle plan to get me past my failings, and thanks to that I passed a month later and with only 2 minors. I hope il see him on the roads in the future, teaching new people as well as he taught me. - The Adam
