Negative experience: UPDATE | REPLY TO SOHEL'S RESPONSE I spoke with Sohel on the phone on May 30, 2024, during which he acknowledged the issue and apologised but then stated he would not remove my photo unless I removed my negative review. I have already emailed him (two times) at the email address he listed below for written confirmation that all of my personal information has been deleted from online platforms as well as from his phone and any other electronic devices, but he has not replied. Under the GDPR statute, he has 30 days to respond, as per the ICO guidelines. If he does not provide the written confirmation within this timeframe, I will proceed with making a formal complaint to the ICO (a data protection regulator) and will also file a complaint with the DVLA/DVSA on June 30, 2024 (at the 30 day mark). I take data privacy very seriously. I can confirm that I was a student and have evidence, including screenshots of the call made on May 30, 2024 (which I also have a recording of), as well as screenshots of the violation showing my photo on his Google listing (posted two years ago). At the end of my test, I specifically told him I did not want my photo posted anywhere online because I am a very private person and instead offered to write a positive Google review so he would not post the photo, which he agreed to (he didn't claim me as being a fake reviewer then). Despite this, he posted my photo along with my certificate number online a few months later. This is a severe violation of privacy, and it is inappropriate to post personally identifiable information online without the individual's permission. This was highly unprofessional and deceptive of Sohel. Instead of denying the review as false, Sohel should take ownership of his mistake and learn from this experience. If Sohel continues to deny this, I am prepared to post screenshots of the phone calls, email exchanges, and the recording of the phone call, with personally identifiable information removed, of course. *** ORIGINAL REVIEW*** I am extremely disappointed and angry with Sohel's Driving School due to a blatant disregard for my preferences and privacy. Despite explicitly informing Sohel that I did not want my photo posted online, he went ahead and uploaded my photo without my permission to his Google Maps profile. Shockingly, this photo has been online for two years without my consent!!! Sohel insists on taking a photo to commemorate the moment you pass your driving test, but it feels more like a trick so he can have photos to use for marketing his business. As someone with sensitivities about having my photos posted online, this experience has been highly distressing. It is unacceptable for a business to ignore clear requests from their clients, especially regarding personal data and privacy. I have formally requested the removal of my photo and personal information from all online platforms and devices, but the damage to my trust has already been done. I cannot recommend Sohel's Driving School to anyone who values their privacy and expects their preferences to be respected.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test in August with 2 minors faults. I started to learn to drive with Sohel, he is a professional driving instructor with wonderful experience and great patience and advice. He gave wonderful guidance and helped me at all times and never shouts. I am really grateful for having him as my instructor until I could no longer learn from him no more due to a situation that we both had no control over, but I can tell you now, I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn driving with him and you won't regret it.

After changing driving instructors several times, finally I found an excellent one. Sohel is a very professional driving instructor with enormous experience and great patience. He will model how to do something with words and with mini car figures to show you the positioning of the car. He explains how to use reference points and will always contextualise learning so that you know how to pass the test. He takes you on multiple test routes so you have awareness and familiarity with the area. I passed with him the first time.

Negative experience: Absolutely rubbish service! Avoid at all costs, he took 1-2 months to reply to my whatsapp messages so I can book lessons although I had paid cash in advance, avoid avoid avoid!

Fantastic experience: Passed today first time with 1 minor with Sohel. To be honest I cannot recommend more, very very patient and detailed in the explanations, covered all exam routes and he is very attentive to his clients. He makes mock tests before and he reassures you about your level and tells you when you are ready to go. He makes sure his clients are very calm and very confident with the test, also very honest about the number of lessons you need to take, if you don’t need anymore he will tell and not just make you waste your time and money.
