Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience with Bradley's Driving School! Coming from Italy, where road systems are quite different, I had no prior driving experience. My instructor, Ken, was incredibly patient, professional, and thorough throughout the 43 hours of driving lessons. His guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence and skills I needed to pass my driving test on the first try! I highly recommend this driving school. Fantastic experience: Ken has taught me and 2 of my children to drive, the latest just a couple of weeks ago. We all passed first time with minimal minor faults. I knew nothing at all about cars and driving but Ken is patient and explains everything fully so you can understand what is expected of you. He's also a great bloke. Negative experience: *Update* he has given me a full refund and apologised so I appreciate that. First of all, I didn't like ken's tone he was cold and had little to no personality, I had to ask his name as he didn't introduce himself (the guy on the phone stated I wouldn't be having ken so that threw me off from the get go), even when I stated my nanna was in hospital, he didn't bother engaging in a conversation to see if she was ok and went on being harsh to me even with this fact in mind. Although he was knowledgable in certain aspects that doesnt excuse his rudeness and his manner (or lack thereof). he is not reassuring and is quick to criticise your driving almost incessantly, stating that I was damaging and way too forceful on the gears when in fact it was because the car, which is a mini has an almost toy like feel to the gear stick which accentuated how hard it looked when I was changing gears. He was constantly making anecdotes like: how many gearboxes have you gone through, I bet your parents are a nervous wreck in the car with you and I thought you said you were a good driver etc. He said this in an undermining and mocking tone almost. Even if he was joking it made me feel uneasy and stressed. I absolutely would not recommend Bradley's Driving School as it has made me feel worse about my driving than when I started.

Fantastic experience: Ken is the best instructor you can find in Durham. He got me through the test in my first attempt in Durham with zero driving faults. I had classes from many other instructors before moving to Durham but I have to say Ken was the best of the lot. He makes the whole thing very simple and logical. The best is his sense of humour. He is an absolute gentleman. He finds out your mistakes easily and identifies the areas where you can potentially make a mistake and equips you to mitigate this. He made the whole thing stress free and put me at ease before the test. I would recommend Ken to anyone looking for manual driving lessons in Durham.

Fantastic experience: I totally recommend Bradley's Driving School. I chose it because of its good reviews. Although I have been driving for 22 years, I needed to have some sessions to get used to driving in the UK and the roads before my driving test. Ken shared his considerable knowledge and skills and improved my driving and familiarity of the Durham roads. He obviously cares about his pupils and wants them to succeed. He has a very useful animated app and a gallery of very useful pictures to teach you everything. His YouTube videos are also an excellent resource for learning about driving on the local roads. Ken is very detailed and nothing is left to chance when he is preparing you for the test. You will not find a better instructor! He's topnotch! Thanks to him I passed with only 2 minor faults. Fantastic experience: I have taken his 30hrs course. I highly recommend it. As a Mexican, I was used to drive on the other side of the road, and rules here were completely different. Plus it was my first time driving Manual. Ken was very patient, provided great advice, it makes you feel safe. Furthermore, the course is hard, but this is good because the real exam becomes a piece of cake. What is more after his course you feel confident enough to drive anywhere. Not only covers the basics but he goes beyond that and you hill learn more advanced skills. I cannot think of a better way to learn.

Fantastic experience: I 1000% recommend having driving lessons with Ken! I passed first time with him with 1 minor fault after 30h of lessons over the course of 7 weeks! Having done ~40h of lessons back in 2016, failing one test and not getting back in a car for 7 years, I was pretty nervous and full of bad habits. Ken was the most patient and relaxed instructor I've met. He's a very honest man who will not be afraid to point out any silly mistakes you make but always takes the time to talk things through and straighten any flaws out. I really enjoyed his teaching style as well as his sense of humour. His mock tests are extremely valuable to do and prepare you for the real deal (and his YouTube videos with quality editing are fantastic). Before I started learning with Ken, I had extremely poor driving skills, but Ken had patience and understanding and I could see significant improvements lesson by lesson. The work he does has to be applauded, as he is simply brilliant and the very best about. I must say that you do have to have thick skin because Ken will say it as it is, especially when you’re driving is poor, however, he means well. To give some perspective, within three months, I went from 14 minor and two major faults in a mock test to passing with two minors. Don’t bother wasting your time with amateurs. Fantastic experience: I had the best driving experience with Ken Smith as my instructor and I passed first time! Ken was amazing at helping get rid of the bad habits I picked up from my previous instructors. He took me through the basic skills like moving off slowly, which is something I have always struggled with. He is so patient and has a lot of experience, which is reflected in his very high success rate (85%!). I especially found the mock tests leading up to my test of great value because I knew exactly what to expect. Ken has made sure I am now safe and confident on the roads and I cannot thank him enough for all his help! He even dedicated a lesson to motorways, which a lot of instructors do not cover with their students, and so I now feel ready to take them on by myself! Fantastic experience: Let me just say that I had a previous driving instructor in London for close to a year and I have miserably failed my driving test three times while with her. Then I booked another lady and she seemed more interested of helping me pass my test but I had to move to Bowburn where I found Ken. The first thing he identified was how poor my driving technique was and I was always on edge to not stall as I always did due to my poor driving technique. I was so stressed the entire time. After only few lessons with Ken my driving improved significantly. I relaxed and what do you know after another few lessons I pass my driving test and I am now a qualified driver. Ken is an outstanding tutor. He really knows what he is doing. He explains everything so well that I felt like fool paying a whole year to someone who thought me only how to start the car. Driving two years with a wrong technique and all the bad habits that comes with it is not an easy thing to correct but with Ken’s help I overcome all this bad habits that I don’t even remember them anymore. I feel much safer behind the wheel as well. Ken is such a gem I strongly recommend him. If you care about becoming a good driver and pass your test the first time Ken is your guy. Fantastic experience: Kenneth is an excellent instructor. He is clear, methodical and knows his job inside out. He is highly professional and a real gent. His high pass rate truly reflects the quality of his work. He was my fourth instructor, but with his expert teaching he definitely made sure he was my last! I was a nervous learner, prone to making mistakes not always because of a lack of skill but just because of nerves. I still managed to pass first time with only 2 minors thanks to Kenneth's expert and patient coaching. I owe him so much more than the money I paid for the classes. Fantastic experience: Ken's a brilliant instructor, my friend recommended him to me and another girl, all three of us passed first time. I was taught by him for 24 weeks, or just under 6 months. He's experienced and professional, and he understands how to cater his lessons to different types of drivers, I really really enjoyed the lessons, I hear a couple horror stories here and there about some instructors but you're garanteed smooth sailing with Ken. I also never felt that I was in any risk behind the wheel, he's relaxed but extremely aware of surroundings in a way early learners can't be. Passed with a clean sheet this morning!!

Fantastic experience: Eee man where can I start! Ken is such a brilliant, supportive, caring, reassuring and patient driving instructor! I found him through some friends from school who had previously passed with him and thought I’d give it a go and I managed to pass first time on 08/12/22 with 1 little minor in 35 hours of lessons plus 25 hours of private practice. I’d 100% recommend Ken for anyone who is learning to drive in the Durham area! He reassured me countless times that I would pass which went a long way for my doubts and worries about the big day. With adequate practice and regular, detailed feedback on my mistakes, I was able to work my way towards a 1st time pass, and with a clean sheet at that! Still a bit surprising but I should've known that when Ken's your instructor, it's definitely a possibility :) Learners in County Durham are truly lucky to have Ken around and I would absolutely recommend him if you're looking to pass your test 1st time. Fantastic experience: Ken tailored my training to meet my needs. Previously driving in my country (on the opposite side of the road) with loads of bad driving habit, Ken addressed these and practically re-wired my brain! Training was so thorough it made the test feel too easy! I quite like that he answered all my questions giving the knowledge and skill to pass at first attempt, and hopefully for a lifetime of safe and efficient driving.

Fantastic experience: With Ken as my driving instructor, I passed first time after 3 months of lessons (with lots of time out for holidays!!) and no out-of-lesson practice. I was very nervous to start driving as I’d had no prior experience, but shortly after beginning my lessons Ken had helped me to feel confident in my abilities. Ken would always be sure to spot any mistakes and help me correct them with lots of practise, and would focus lessons on any issue areas I had. I could pretty much choose when I had my lessons so definitely felt like I was getting plenty of practice per week. Lessons were not only informative but really fun - I’ll definitely miss them! Fantastic experience: I would travel over from Newcastle for my lessons and I can say without a doubt it was completely was worth it. Ken is miles better than all the driving instructors I've tried in Newcastle. He is dedicated, patient and thorough. I knew I was in safe hands each drive and would come away knowing I had learnt something new. Fantastic experience: Thanks to Ken, I passed my manual driving test the first time today. I have been driving what seems now quite lawlessly in Asia for almost 20 years, I couldn’t believe how difficult it is to pass the UK driving test. Ken repeatedly grilled me on all the rules and I believe I will hear his voice in my ear every time I drive from hereon. Fantastic experience: Paul Eilles, great instructor. great communication and the rest, i passed my practical driving test in durham which before starting me lessons with paul i had never been there before on foot or in a car. What can I say, I passed first time with Paul as my mentor and the methods used, saw me learn the rules of the road extremely quickly. From road positioning to awareness of other road users and more. I couldn’t be more thankful to Paul, a good mentor and a very nice genuine bloke. Comes highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Ken was an amazing driving instructor, I came to him with zero knowledge of driving a car past what you need to know to pass your theory and he helped me ace my test first time, we had some issues around Corona and my test being push on but Ken managed to find me cancellations within the first week of coming out of lockdown.
