Fantastic experience: I couldn’t ask for a better driving instructor! When I first started looking for instructors they all turned me down saying they were busy and had no availability. I started to lose hope but found Sajid online and messaged him. I got a very prompt response and he was very understanding of the fact that I was very scared and anxious about driving. On my first lesson I was already driving around town and he made me fell safe and comfortable. Throughout my learning journey he never gave up on me, he was always patient, always provided constructive feedback, he was always on time and was always honest. I was so lucky to have him as my first and only instructor and I couldn’t have passed without him! He truly roots for his students! Fantastic experience: I CANT RECOMMEND SIJAD ENOUGH! When I found sijad I never imagined I would pass. I was struggling to find an instructor, I had been scammed by previous instructors, and was being told that I wouldn't be able to get a test for at least 6 months. I was feeling stressed, helpless and unconfident with driving. I found Sijad online, sent him a text and he arranged a lesson for the next morning! I couldnt believe it! He had me driving that morning straight away which really helped with my confidence! Sijad is really kind, supportive and encouraging. He puts you at ease immediately and makes you feel relaxed. I valued that he remains calm and patient when you make mistakes and doesnt get annoyed at all. He's also very flexible with when you want lessons and very reliable - he was always on time and didn't cancel a single lesson. He listens to what you want, what you need help on, and you work together to make it happen! I started with Sijad on July 2nd and he had me a test booked in my area by the 27th! I passed first time! Fantastic experience: When I was looking for an instructor I heard from my colleagues that some of them are rude, they don’t appreciate your little progress or they would just criticise you all the time which makes you loose confidence in your own self, fortunately I found Top Gear Motoring School in my web search, I contacted them and got the answer straightaway. Mr. Sajjad is one of great mentors I have met in my life. Initially I was making a lot of mistakes, would panic sometimes but my mentor kept on giving me more confidence and before my test he gave me great confidence which made me pass my test in first attempt. I would recommend this school to everybody who is looking for good skills with a great mentor.

Fantastic experience: Got to be the best driving instructor! Kind patient and great communication. My son passed his test first time after just 5 lessons. I can’t thank you enough.

Negative experience: Wasn't going to post a review even though the following are standard practices with this driving school: 1. Picks up other learners in the last part of your lesson, you drive home & then the other learner jumps in the driving seat. Yes very convenient for the instructor but many instructors don't do this. Ring round other instructors & ask if they do this? 2. If you ask or allow the instructor to book the test for you (or he has block booked tests & gives you one of those slots) you will be charged £100 for the test (£62 for the test & £38 for his markup). You will also be charged £100 for hire of the vehicle for the duration of the test. A lesson is £35 for 1hr. A test is less (usually) than 1hr - so where does the almost triple hourly charge come from? It isn't due to his insurance - if that is what you are told. Again, ring round 10 random instructors and ask what their test charges are. Partly my own fault for not getting the T&C's all up front. I let all this slide - as my son passed on his 1st attempt and getting a driving instructor in mid 2022 was hard work and many seemed to be price gouging. Then I bought my son a small 1st car (nothing antique) and the reality came home hard. 1. The instructor has "clutch assist" enabled on his car and therefore does not teach handbrake incline\hill starts. That's the "old fashioned" method. Does any car with clutch "assist" exist that a newly qualified driver can afford to insure this side of 3K? No such car exists. Yes, "clutch assist" will get you a test pass quicker, but it will instil a false sense of confidence. When you go into the real world - and a car you can afford to insure, i.e. without "clutch assist" and try a hill start: try moving your foot to the gas from the foot brake and bring up the clutch to the biting point almost instantly (a hill start without using the handbrake), the only thing you will end up doing is exchanging insurance details with the car you just rolled into. This is an advanced technique on a car without "clutch assist". Most certainly not something to be taught to learners, albeit with "clutch assist". 2. A student will have no idea how to navigate a spiral roundabout. There isn't just Chain Bar, Dudley Hill and other roundabouts are spiral. 3. Will you able to park in a car park space - no chance. Thankfully my son has not had to exchange insurance details as there was no one behind him when the "taught" hill start technique failed miserably. So now, I'm teaching him how to navigate spiral roundabouts, handbrake hill starts, parking in car park spaces and other things. What exactly did I pay for, with all the lessons? A test pass - yes. Real world driving skills - no. "Caveat Emptor" Edit for reply: You should really Google what "Clutch Assist" is on a car. It isn't where the examiner (or instructor) uses his clutch pedal to assist the driver. As for driving in Heaton - if you could have him drive to Apperley Bridge, The University and other areas far from Heaton DTC test routes to pick up your next studends, i.e. for YOUR benefit - why couldn't you have him drive to other areas for HIS benefit for things like spiral roundabouts? As for invaluable knowledge - I would have preferred critical knowledge like being able to navigate spiral roundabouts and being taught incline\hill starts with a handbrake as opposed what was easier for you - i.e. Clutch Assist incline\hill starts. Obviously you will need to Google what Clutch Assist is.

Fantastic experience: “Nearly a Year later review” The best instructor around! I passed with uncle a year ago in October 22 and I couldn’t thank him enough. I managed to get a cancellation date on the Thursday for that weekend on a Saturday which was in heckmondwick (40 minutes away) and I had no instructor available. I messaged top gear school of motoring explaining my situation stressing and he responded the same night with a solution which he carried out flawlessly. He turned up 2 days later on the Saturday morning 1 hour before my lesson, he then gave me a mock driving test, took me around the route I’d be driving and then let me use his car for the test itself. Which I passed first time. he explained what I needed to watch out on that I wasn’t doing in the mock test. He gave me a confidence boost before the test and then waited until I had finished. Definitely recommend to friends and family or anyone learning to drive.

Fantastic experience: I had a test already booked in before I started working with Sijad at Top Gear SOM. He is incredibly patient and calming. Felt at ease at all times and his knowledge of the test routes is top class. Although experienced behind the wheel, I had some areas to work on and tighten up and after only 5 hours of lessons, I passed first time with just 2 minors thanks to Sijad’s guidance. HIGHLY recommended to anyone of any skill level, you will not regret choosing Top gear SOM!!!

Fantastic experience: What can I say. One of the best instructor in UK. I got lucky with the test date and I only got 2 days to prepare. I used to drive before but not in UK. He just took 4 lessons and that's it. He is so calm and knows how to teach. I'm really glad I got to know about this Top Gear in the short span. And in the first attemp, I cleared the test.
