Fantastic experience: I did my C1 training with the LGV company. I found that they worked around me and was very efficient with the time frame I needed to have my test within. The staff that dealt with me were amazing especially Alfie who guided me through everything I needed to know and checked my progress along each step, along with Steve my instructor and mickey. I had a fab experience with these who were very supportive along the way, I passed first time! I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to complete the C1 course. Antonio has, since that first call, been available pretty much every single time, which in today's UK service norms is for me very special service by a key player in a forward looking business. Imagine that, ring through and speak or ask to speak to Antonio and you speak to Antonio. He is always positive, encouraging and knows his business and importantly, how to look after his customers. He helped me when getting the provisional licence got delated and calmly told me not to worry and it would work out soon and soon it did! Then service notched up another level when I passed by Theory and needed to get going on the practical training. I called Antonio, and amazing things happened; within less than 24 hours Keira who works with Antonio, had arranged this practical training for the following week and rearranged the CPC training - all rapidly confirmed by text and email within the hour. A huge thank you to Keira and to Antonio for excellent and uplifting service - LGV should be very proud of two colleagues who know the meaning of excellent customer service!

Fantastic experience: I have taken the C+E fast track HGV course. I was speaking with Nick Lake, I was impressed with how he dealt with me throughout, i was unsure on my first enquiry, never once he pressured me and understood my feelings and explained all my doubts. Nick Lake was brilliant with me throughout the whole process. Very quick to answer any of my questions throughout. He also WhatsApp's me directly for any further advice. It was very easy to deal with the company during the whole process from start to finish. Kiera Gordon, was very helpful and checked in frequently to see how the training was going on. She took care of booking all my, theory's and practical's test. All i did was provide her a list of dates i wanted, and within that day i was given the dates. It was so simple and easy to sort out. I passed my HGV test, with an extraordinary experience from the LGV training company!! Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: Name Gurmeet Singh. First of all , THE LGV TRAINING COMPANY IS NOT A TRAINING COMPANY, they will find you a local training provider in your area , who will charge you way less then you pay if you book them LGV. Just don’t fall into there trap in the beginning when you get call back from sales team for your enquiry you make online. They will give you all big dreams over the phone about getting you a job as soon as you pass LIKE I WAS GIVEN DREAM ABOUT WORKING IN ASDA BY who never replied back to my email when I asked him about the job he show me dream about in the beginning after I passed my license. But once you done everything, all you get back from them is CV TEMPLATE AND A COVER NOTE AND FEW LINKS of Apps like INDEED CV LIBRARY AND ETC where they will ask you to apply yourself. Anything goes wrong during your training like happened with me on my exam day the examiner called in sick and my test got cancelled so I have to beg them, send them few emails for book another date for my test. Until last working day of my training is due to start the sales team ( ANTONIO) called me maybe 10 times for spend more money on some pass protection when I refused to take it at first time he offered me that. They will just do all the things they can to make you spend more money. So just don’t fall for them, and just go directly to your local training provider directly because end of the day you will be trained by them anyway.

Positive experience: Nick Lake from LGV has been brilliant throughout the whole experience and I definitely can't fault LGV's enthusiasm and drive for their candidates to succeed. Nick was also helpful with explaining how everything works and getting me in touch with the right people. He also checked in at every stage which is also a nice touch. Sadly though there were a couple of points I did find frustrating. Firstly, while discussing payment for the course I asked if finance was available, which they said yes no problem, great, and were flexible about how I wanted to pay it, however, what wasn't discussed at the time or explained to me was they did not want to book me on the course until the whole payment had cleared. So In reality it wasn't proper finance and I would only receive the services after the entire cost had been paid. Understand why they do this but it would have just been good to know this before making the first payment. Another payment frustration came when getting a call from LGV just a week before the CPC module to ask if I wanted extra protection to do a retake if I failed at extra cost. I had already taken out extra retake protection and was not aware that did not cover the CPC as well, I see other reviews have also said this so I guess this is a technique they use to get more money. So I didn't appreciate the hidden costs. I have only just passed the C+E qualification so have yet to work with LGV for their aftercare services such as job searching so I will come back and edit when that's happened.

I have had one contact throughout - Sam Hieke - who has answered every query, organised every part of my course, and is generally a really nice and helpful guy :) Can't praise him highly enough - he has made the entire process from start to finish very simple. Top bloke and top company!

I was provided with excellent customer service, allowing me to start my theory for a small amount of the cost of the course. I was able to ask questions and talk to Nick whenever I had issues. The company stayed in contact with me while I was waiting for my DVLA medical to go through. Overall I would recommend LGV Training Company for anyone who wants good customer service and the privilege to ask any questions you need to.

Negative experience: AVOID, AVOID, AVOID This has been a terrible experience from the start to finish. After having done a bit of reading and exploring companies that offer the LGV cat C +E licence. I stumbled across 'THE LGV TRAINING COMPANY' Upon first glance it looked professional and organised. I made an enquiry and straight away i was bombarded with phone calls after phone calls from their sales team. I thought as like most sales this was normal. I spoke to NICK LAKE who although sounded friendly over the phone, via email was extremely pushy and forceful in trying to get you to sign up. I placed a deposit for the course with the expectation i could use a finance scheme as promised. This was not the case and was told i would have to pay the full amount before any training begun. The amount does not include medical fees either, as you would expect, paying over £3000 for a course. I had to book the medical my self and then send off all the paperwork. The only thing provided to me was a booklet i already received in an email. After having passed my theory, the company then asked for a call to let them know. I did as stated and then received no further communication. All i got was an email asking if i was still interested in the course. After having explained i was, NICK had secured his money and was a happy man. Placed onto a course, i was initially told it was an intensive 7 day course. This turned into a 6 day course and dont let them fool you into thinking it will be a full day. I completed just under 4 hours of driving a day. Expecting a break then more driving, this was not the case. HUGHES DRIVING SCHOOL were allocated for this. The lack of organisation and effort from the company itself was poor. Instructors telling me they werent getting paid enough and making inappropriate comments when in the cab. I was emailed about the course being cut down and there was nothing they could do. I then had my CPC exam which i passed and this took a whole morning, so no driving on the friday. I was then informed my reversing test was on the Wednesday and i hadnt even stepped foot in an artic yet. I had roughly 2.5hours of reversing and this was the first time even driving a lorry of that size. After clearly failing on the wednesday, i was informed i would have to pay another £750 to do the reversing and final test again. From that point i decided to no longer carry on and i have now lost out on a large amount of money. Both of these companies only have money in their mindset and do not care about their clients. I was offered another reversing test as goodwill but would have to pay for the hire of the lorry again, thus making the company more money. I opted for the monetary value of £40 which is a kick in the teeth.

Negative experience: The main reason I went for these guys was because they said they help you find work once you have passed. This was not really the case at all. All they did to help me find work, was very slightly tweak my CV. By "slightly", I mean it. All they did was add 'Valid CPC & Tachograph Card' onto my CV and then wished me well. It's been two months since I passed and I am no closer to finding a job than I was before I even held my class 1 license. Nobody will hire me with no experience and I have no contacts within the industry, nor knowledge of how to get around this obstacle - Something I thought this company would help me with. The training itself wasn't conducted by this company, but instead was outsourced to another company over an hour away from me, which I had to commute to every day. The company they sent me to was awful, where I had a very aggressive instructor who gave me no feedback to anything I did and spoke to his wife on the phone for the majority of the day. I feel like I passed my tests through pure intuition and playing a truck simulator for 10 years. I feel like I've wasted a few grand on a licence I may never even get to use. If I ever do manage to find work, I'll have forgotten everything from my course anyway, so the licence will basically just be a ticket saying "I paid for authorisation". I knew it would be difficult finding a job with no experience, but I paid for this course at the promise of support - Which I never received. From the sounds of it, they made it seem like they'd be using contacts to get your foot in the door... Not just slightly tweak my CV. The only positive stuff I can say about this whole thing, is the fact that the theory study material was fairly helpful and the ladies in admin were friendly and polite.

Fantastic experience: All the people I dealt with at the LGV Training company were excellent, Nick lake who helped me throughout the entire course was extremely helpful answering all the questions I had about the course, everything went very smoothly in booking training courses and tests, which made it easier for me to revise and not stress out as much.

Negative experience: Used these guys around early 2022, I was sent to a completely different training company local to me who these guys must pay to train people I only assume. That company was downright awful, I was being told to cut in front of people, ignore road signs and the trainer was extremely hostile for no apparent reason. I failed my lgv test (my own mistake) and when trying to rebook, “the lgv training company” couldn’t fit me in coincidently until just after my other tests expired (such as the reverse test). Meaning I’d have to pay the full amount a second time

Fantastic experience: I am going onto my practical now and so far the experience has been great. Payments are flexible. The lines are always open if you need any help or have any questions. Nick lake has rang me after each step to see how things went and to get me started on the next step. What it does is book your testes at extra prices. And they up sell. They want your money. Nothing else. There are better companies online for much cheaper prices that offer more benefits. Fantastic experience: My experience with GS driving training company has been an amazing experience, I would like to thank my instructors Ben and Helen for being patient and understand with me throughout these 4 intensive days of training. They made sure I had a full understanding of what I need to do and explained it in ways I am able to understand. The banter with my instructor made me feel at ease and they were very friendly. I am glad and would highly recommend this company as they are keen in making their trainees pass on their first try. I would like to thank the whole team again for an excellent service and the helpful tips and feedback.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experince with them. Nick was main person who dealt with my case. What I was amaised that you just sit back and relax because you dont have to book anyting they deal with it. I know that price might scare you off but it is worth getting in to this industry.

Positive experience: Got my be licence 3 months ago and getting it with them, I couldn’t complain one bit, but the part after where they help you find a job is poor, sent me 3 links which all just sent me to the indeed Home Screen and that’s was the help done.

Positive experience: Inverness experience: currently doing CPC. Fleet looks nice, price seems elevated, but reviews are great, so I gave a go. Excited! Materials provided for Module 2 were really good with practice case studies, three weeks awaiting time for DVSA test - a bit long, but it is what it is. Let’s crack on! Called Nick, said I’m ready for module 4. ‘No worries, mate. Someone will get back to you soon.’ After 5 days I checked in to see if there’s any progress, then I gave them another 2 days. After total of 13 days waiting I started considering other companies, but Their refund policy chained me with them. Today they told me that in 10 days someone will let me know about my module 4 date that will be some time in a future. So 23 days of uncertainty to learn that the term will be… December? Effectively the excitement about the job fades and uncertainty creates stress beyond measure. And C+E job adverts are there… Edit: This review resulted in me being called by Callum the very next morning. He seemed compassionate and three days after this review I have my mod 4 certificate. 3 stars feels generous after the experience I had, but again my mood about it was a build-up created by Royal Mail strikes and DVLA that delayed my progress (5 weeks!; 4 weeks accordingly). This company happened to be at the end of my rocky road of licensing endeavours. Next to that I learnt that this is the busiest They had in a while, so I give them a credit of forbearance. Room for improvement? Fact that I was stationed in small city of Inverness was a factor. The Company could've taken initiative of offering tests in nearby cities, what I suggested in the end. Or give a distant, but any date. It's the uncertainty that was corroding.

Fantastic experience: The Lgv company was I great help throughout my training and signing up to them. Nik Penny has been for helpful with info and keep up with update with information and things that I needed to do and complete. And want to thank the whole on the LVG team.And especially Nik Penny. I’m pleased to have passed my lorry test.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic communication and support all the way through the process. Nick Lake and the team have been amazing at sorting out my CE training to fit around my work commitments and has always responded to questions and queries very promptly. The training materials provided for the 3 theory tests was great and really ensured I was well prepared for them. I am very happy with the service I have received so far and they are now looking at getting my first HGV job sorted to meet my requirements.

Negative experience: Do not use. My situation changed and I tried to refund. Had only had a medical and they offered me £359 back when I'd paid over £2800. If you like myself have had money taken off them for a refund report them to the competition and markets authority as this is illegal.

Fantastic experience: Strongly recommend this company to anyone wanting to learn to drive HGV. The professional and caring approach by Nik Penney has been second to non all my questions and worries have been dealt with and sorted and Nik has made me feel totally relaxed in achieving my licence. This is a highly professional and well run company and the staff (especially Nik) make the whole experience well worth doing.

Fantastic experience: My experience with LGV was very straight forward. I spoke to one of the agents and told him what I needed and he organised everything for me. I then received another call from one of he's colleagues who then organised my course. I was put on the perfect course with a excellent trainer who explained and taught me all I needed to know about my subject efficiently.

Fantastic experience: I used these guys for my training and can highly recommend them. Nik Penny has been my contact through out the whole process and has been excellent. He has been knowledgeable about the process, helpful when I had questions, and patient when I required time to digest and think about things. The source material has been clear, concise and easy to use. If you want to get a HGV licence I highly recommend these guys.

Negative experience: Avoid all they want is your money shocking customer service. I was sent to a training company called Hughes very unorganised apparently sitting in a garage while the lorry was getting fixed was part of my training and cutting my lessons Short due to the lack of organisation was part of my training I Was robbed of training hours no refund offered just passed from pillar to post I was promised the world to start off with and Soon as theres been a problem my so-called coach, won’t answer my calls just emails back and forth with a very unhelpful customer service advisor asked to speak to management and apparently Katie is the top dog yet couldn’t resolve my issue

Positive experience: It has been a great experience working with LGV training especially working with Nick. Most of the time when a customer has enquiries he is there for you however it has taken while to get training which resulted to do training outside West Yorkshire which costed a lot of time, money and effort.

Fantastic experience: If you’re thinking of booking your HGV driver training through these guys then I say go for it! Calls are handled promptly the team, especially Naz Saleem who was with me from day 1, were brilliant !! I didn’t have a clue before I started and Naz walked me through each step, clearly and concisely so I knew exactly what to expect. They booked my medical for me, advised me on my CPC then found me a driver school locally who again were brilliant allowing me to pass my HGV Class 1 (C+E) first time with only 2 minors! Started my training on Monday, I had my licence by Wednesday!! What more can I say! 5**** service!

Fantastic experience: Took the hassle out of the whole experience and got me passed within a few months. This company let you know what paperwork you need, sort your theory dates, organize your practical training etc. I was speaking to people who were learning through the government bootcamp and it took them around a year to get through, I started in late August and was qualified by the end of November.

Negative experience: If you want to become HGV drivers, avoid this mediocre company as much as possible. I have been with them for 8 months during the entire time of the my HGV CLASS 2 Training without having received any support. My luck was that I passed all the theory exams excellently studying on my own at home during my spare time, I received no help and explanation from them to concentrate fully on the 3 hard exams I had to face.. .they were just interested in my money. I took my driving test on December 5th, and I failed. I Paid £500 quid for pass protection wanted by me, and they rebooked me for 3rd January at switch Island. unluckily, wanted me to catch Covid 7 days before the exam, I was sick in bed with High fever and cough, I didn't had any strength and energy to do the re-test again. Desperately I contacted this company to see if it was possible to reschedule the date, they firmly replied no otherwise I would lose the Pass protection (£500 quid) and to take the re-test again I would have to pay another (£500 quid) as I Explained always money reasons for them, and not my health, and this is one of the HGV Training companies that they come to talk about "Health and Safety" when I was forced by them to retake the driving test completely unsuitable for my health conditions. I failed again, because by my health reason ("for Covid) I wasn't fit enough to re-doing my test. I walked away from them, and I contacted other HGV companies, I explained what happened, and they told me that the exam could be postponed due to COVID. This was one of my terrible experiences with them, which I don't want to repeat again, I hope this review can help someone not to fall into the same mistake that cost me dearly both in money and health

Fantastic experience: Signed up with the LGV training company. They told me that they would organise everyting from theory test through to the actual driving test and that is exactly what they did. All I had to do was turn up when and where they told me to. First class company. Passed my test 1st time and now they are looking at getting me a job. Brilliant....

Negative experience: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! It is great to see so many good reviews so they must just pick and choose who they will help. Nick Lake was amazing at first until we paid the fees! I would not recommend this company to anyone. We were told the theory test would be booked within 3 weeks and the training not far after. This was absolute rubbish! We paid in August 2021, theory test in December 2021. We had to chase the company continuously then said we would do the training anywhere in the country. We were booked in February 2022 but due to the weather, couldn't do the test. Bearing in mind, the company terms and conditions state that they will work with you to find a suitable date, this was not done. We informed the company numerous times that due to work rotas being set 3 weeks in advance, we would need 3 weeks notice. Since February, they offered 4 dates, 2 of which was 48 hours notice and 2 with 5 dates notice. We continued to chase the company for a suitable test date to then be informed that we needed to pay more for the test. Which we agreed to pay and a date booked in. As we both booked the time off work, we were informed that we had been offered two dates for 2 tests, which we hadn't. The final communications had conflicting information regarding dates and test and also ended with them responding to another complaint by someone else. I would not recommend this company. Take your money elsewhere and safe yourself the frustration. In the 18 months with this company, we dealt with 6 different people who knew nothing about what the other had been talking to us about. Avoid!
