We provide motorcycle lessons in the Cookstown and Dungannon areas. We offer motorcycle training for cbt's and also lessons for those looking to do their full bike test. At Twist of the Wrist rider training there are 2 fully qualified instructors, Robin Reid and Ian Hall. We both are regulated by the dva, and are approved motorcycle instructors. We offer training to the novice and also to the experienced and we have a great facility in Cookstown where we conduct most of our training. We are friendly instructors who care about those who come to us. We enjoy meeting new people and hearing of their journey of how they got to be involved in motorcycles to the point were they are taking up the challenge of learning how to ride. Call us anytime.

Fantastic experience: Having only experienced trials and mx bikes- I was a bit nervous about getting my road test. Straight away Robin put me at ease- his experience and professional approach had me through the CBT/ Off-road and Road test in no time. There were usually two learners at each lesson- which proved beneficial as I was able to learn from someone else also. We were given the choice of two bikes to learn/ practice on- both of which were presented in great condition. I have no hesitation in recommending Robin to anyone liking their motorbike test.

Fantastic experience: Robin is a great instructor, I would say relaxed but very thorough. During the scheduling of the lessons he always managed to accommodate me.He invited queries, questions and feedback, he would even pull in and go through it until I was happy then move on. I found Robin to be a gentleman and also a 'bit o craic'. If you want to pass your test ,stress free, Robin's your man!

Fantastic experience: Excellent mentorship from Sir Reid.. passed my large bike Mod 2 at 1 take with only 2 minors. Very detailed training sessions. Shows you all the must know abouts

Fantastic experience: Recently done my full test through Robin and I highly recommend him. Very communicative and lessons where very valuable to me both in the off-road test and on road. The lessons where very enjoyable and productive, very glad I choose him to go through the course with.

Fantastic experience: Robin is a straight to the point instructor but has a great approach to it and works with you to achieve your goal. He can be firm but at the end of the day he has a job to do and you want to pass your test. I passed my test with a clean slate first time a robin was there through it all and was so supportive. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I want to say a massive thank you to Robin! He explains everything clearly and straight to the point. I did my cbt with him and then he got me through my test! We were able to arrange lessons for times that suited me. He is really friendly and will let you know when you have done well and what you need to improve on! I would recommend Robin to anyone! Negative experience: I heard he was a great teacher and came highly recommended. However, in my personal expernce, he made excuses every time I tried to join as a new learner. Initially, I wanted to do my CBT, he said he was too busy and only took on experienced riders for doing their tests. After getting my CBT elsewhere, he told me to practice for a month and he'd take me on. When I passed my Module 1 elsewhere, I wanted twist of the wrist to do my module 2 in cookstown. However, he blamed my failure to contact him earlier for CBT and refused to take me for the Module 2 test. Unfortunately, he didn't follow through on his promises and consistently made excuses.
sorry i have no recollection of you at all. i have mo messages from you, anyone who comes to me they text me there name and i will get back to them and arrange something. so nothing from you. then tonight you called me, and told me you had been to 2 different instructors. and you wanted me to do the last part of your test, and i said, i dont take on someone else’s students, and to finish it with your instructor . i explained other reasons why i could not take you even if i wanted to. i spent 20 min on the phone, trying to help you, and i give you advice and the name of insurance companies.
also telling lies saying i would take you on after you done your cbt with someone else is a lie i dont take on someone else’s students as i have said before. because of this you have got upset and decided to blame me and leave negative comments, because you tried to do it your own way and it has back fired on you. i have no regrets on not taking you, anyone of my students who come to me are treated with the greatest respect and i take them through the test and look after them from
start to finish. you will not get this from me as your not my student. i don’t know your name or who you are but all the best with your test.
Fantastic experience: I want to say massive thank you to Robin, he was able to take my son last minute for his CBT test this morning. My son said that he was very professional, extremely helpful very easy to talk to, his way of teaching was extremely easy to understand. I would definitely recommend Robin to anyone and everyone that is looking to take their CBT.

Fantastic experience: Robin explained everything perfectly, always came across positive when trying to make sure you where riding safely. Had my CBT mod 1 & 2 passed first time within a month. Easy no hassle lessons. Recommend to everyone

Negative experience: STAY CLEAR! Has been known to mess students about! Booked my on road test with him and took my money, no issues. Cancelled all my lessons leading up to the test with very little notice (2hrs notice in cases). Left me the NIGHT BEFORE my test with no bike, no lessons and no way to get my money back. Was very rude on the phone when I called to try and resolve. Proceeded to shout, swear and change his excuses. I asked around and found out that he has been know to do this. STAY CLEAR of this man!
