Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of taking motorbike lessons with Stuart, and I just have to say, he was fantastic! He has this amazing ability to break everything down into simple, manageable steps, which made learning to ride feel less intimidating. Stuart was patient and encouraging, always ready to answer my questions and provide helpful tips. He really took the time to make sure I understood everything, and that made all the difference. It was not just about mastering the bike; it was about building my confidence and being safe on the roads. Thanks to Stuart, I now feel comfortable on a motorbike, and excited to keep improving. If you're thinking about taking lessons, I can't recommend this place enough. Oh, and we had a fun little surprise during our lesson when we spotted a miniature horses! It added a lighthearted touch to the day.

Fantastic experience: Stuart is absolutely amazing. The training and advice is he gives is so clear and helpful. He’s always happy to answer questions, and genuinly wants you to become the safest and most confident rider possible, rather than just getting you to the pass standard. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: Stuart responded promptly to my initial enquiry and I booked a DAS course to obtain my full motorbike licence. Despite not being a motorcycle rider, Stuart gave me the advice required to pass the mod1 and mod 2 tests. After an initial hiccup on my first mod 1, the weather was atrocious! Stuart arranged a short additional training to show me that I had all the skills to pass. 2nd attempt resulted in a pass. I then took the mod 2 in Salisbury and passed first time. I would definitely recommend Andover rider training and found Stuart to be encouraging and very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Went for manual cbt training, after stalling 3 times with no instructions, they forced me onto a automatic ped.

Fantastic experience: Stuart made me feel totally at ease whilst carrying out my CBT course on Saturday. It has been a while since I was on a Scooter, but he was very informative, calm and patient and my nerves soon went away. He is a great guy for the job and I won't have any hesitation in going back there in 2 years time . Thanks Stuart

Negative experience: I had two attempts with Stuart last year to pass my CBT, having never been on a motorbike before. The instruction was not really suited to me - I wanted to learn on a geared bike but there just wasn’t enough space or time to embed the basics of machine control before other elements were introduced. I said I just needed time to get my muscle memory for the throttle and clutch but in such a tiny training area this wasn’t possible. I was put onto an automatic but I had lost my confidence at this stage so didn’t go out on the road on either day. I had to pay full price each time. I have just completed my CBT elsewhere over 2 and a half days which suited me so much more and gave me the time and space to practise and embed the basics before moving on. Stuart is very personable and obviously knows his stuff, but this place is not really suitable for complete novices like me who need more practice than a couple of hours before going out onto the road.

Fantastic experience: Today I passed my DAS full cat A licence with Stuart at Andover Rider Training I first saw the great reviews on ART before checking their website. I sent an email registering my interest for the DAS course, having only ridden 125s in my late teens and haven’t touch a motorcycle in around 10 years since. Stuart was great, he called me and discussed my experience and invited me for a trial ride on a 125 before committing to any course plan! I then booked in a four session DAS course, of which the price was very competitive to others in the area and around Andover - to be fair the best price for the course including bike, insurance, gear fuel and time etc. the first full day on the 650cc was great starting with clutch control through to road riding. The second, we rode to the test centre in Greenham where we got to practice on the Mod 1 test area! This was brilliant, practising on the area you would be taking the mod 1 serves better than say a car park or school playground like some other rider training academies for offering for more money! The third day we rode to the same test centre to complete the mod 1 and the fourth was the day of the on road mod 2 test! Between all of these Stuart was fantastic at tutoring and coaching. This including him showing and commentating on the routes and skills he was teaching but also him observing us and proving feedback. He picked out strengths and weaknesses, to which he coached me appropriately to the point in such a short space of time I was at a point of riding safely in preparation for the tests The bikes you train on are well balanced, and great to learn on. I was at first nervous of riding a bigger bike but actually it was so much easier than riding the 125 he lent me for a day to practice on! (Which again was a great part of the service with Stuart at Andover Rider Training) All in all, he taught me the skills and techniques for both the mod 1 and 2 of the test, with the most competitive pricing and I couldn’t recommend him enough to other riders both inexperienced and experience looking for the DAS, CBT or other courses they offer!

Fantastic experience: Stuart is the most amazing, patient and chilled dude I could have ever wished for to do my CBT with. He made me feel like nothing was too much trouble and even when I made mistakes he gave me the confidence to learn and do again. Even when I dropped the bike and he was so reassuring and calm. Anyone doing their CBT around the Andover area, I would highly recommend using Stuart. I'm one very happy lady passing my CBT today ♡ Thank you so much ♡

Negative experience: Stuart has no patience. Going to Newbury bike to bike as they are happy to teach a novice !

Andover Rider Training

Hi Leigh,
can you please let me know what date you came in for training with us? I can't find a training record for a Leigh Smith in the last 12-months, so struggling to work out what happened on that day. I am keen to understand what happened and would be grateful if you could mail me at [email protected] with what the issue was, so we can try and resolve this.
Many thanks,
Emma

Fantastic experience: Okay, it's official - Stuart can teach old dogs new tricks. I rocked up to see him a few months back and he turned me from some ageing "hoonster" into a decent rider. Believe me, many would not have taken me on - I was that reckless. So, what's so good about Stuart? Well, firstly, he won't mess around and sugar-coat the feedback if he knows there is something that needs working on. Secondly, you just know that he is a brilliant rider and that whatever he says is God's gospel to biking; it's a respect thing. Then when you go out for a ride the instructions he gives are so clear, so precise and it all just seeps in, like osmosis. I mean, he can be riding out front and yet sees your every move - I swear he has eyes in the back of that helmet. So, in summary, look nowhere else if you want the best instruction around; indeed, if you are wondering about making the journey into Andover from further afield (like I did) then do it. You will not regret it. Oh, he makes a good cup of tea too!

Fantastic experience: Stuart always gave expert advice to me and helped me through to completing my DAS. Always good banter and experience, even in heavy rain.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't ridden a bike for 30 years and since living and working in the area and commuting regularly between the hospitals I decided to do a CBT. I was a bit apprehensive because i thought my balance on two wheels would be poor (which it was) but the guys soon sorted that out and by the end of the day I was confident. I still need more time on a bike before I do my full licence and will be using ART again as I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks Guys, see you in March.

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT having never ridden a bike before and then a few months later went back to do my DAS. James and Stuart are both absolutely brilliant instructors who really know how to make people into the best riders they an be. Thoroughly enjoyed learning from these guys and they did such a great job teaching me I even managed to pass my Mod 2 first time!

Fantastic experience: Superb! Genuine and passionate. I had never been on a motorcycle before,so I was a complete beginner. By the end of the day I felt confident enough to ride on my own but I was aware of where I need improvement. I can't recommend these people enough. Thank you ART.

Fantastic experience: Having past my test at 17, riding for a year and calling it a day shortly after.. I recently, 6 years on had an urge to get back on a bike. Andover Rider Training provide the 3 hour 'Return to Riding' refresher that I desperately needed! After a shakey start, I walked away feeling empowered to hit the road again! Great staff, quality bikes and training designed and focused on your needs! 10/10
