Medway Motorcycle Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Both me and my son done our cbt's together back in October I think. They knew Frank and myself had never even rode a motorbike before, but they were great in Sittingbourne. Very encouraging and we enjoyed the geared bike session so much. Both passed cbt with ease and look forward to booking my big boy tests with them. Maybe Easter time. Thanks to the team. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, I will pass this on to the troops, and we will see you soon!
Fantastic experience: Done my cbt on the 21/12/24.It was just amazing. Was given the time to learn explained every process extremely well. Definitely coming back to book for my full license
Great review, thank you!
Negative experience: Scammers book you up take you out in torrential weather then say you have failed and have to pay to re book because you don't have enough road expirence
I'm afraid you're mistaken, we don't have you listed in our customer database and nobody by the name of Jackson has trained with us in the past three months. If you are posting this uninformed review for someone else, please ask them to get in touch rather than get someone else to do it who was not there and therefore doesn't know what went on. For obvious data protection reasons we cannot discuss anything with anyone but the name on our bookings, and I suspect that might be a waste of time anyway. Unless of course you're a qualified instructor, in which case, would you like a job?
Negative experience: Avoid it. Completely awful and disrespectful staff new riders not welcome and joking and laugh on any mistakes. I was with you few years back. My name shoud be in your book but im bot expecting to say otherwise. I was new rider and your guys didnt stop laughing at me and what i am going to do, i wanna be a big boy and take a proper bike or ride with girls.
I have no idea who you are and you do not appear on my customer list.
However, if you are the chap from last week who thought their zero knowledge of the Highway Code is acceptable, but you are using a different name, please feel free to find a school that will completely overlook it and your threats and pleading for the instructor to break the law and just write you a certificate.
Negative experience: Totally unhelpful, phoned up today to inquire about completing my MOD 2 as I’ve moved area and the guy on the phoned said “sorry don’t take anyone from other motorcycle schools sorry bye” then hung up the phone. Doesn’t sound much like a professional business.
Thank you for your review based on nothing at all. No, we don't have the room and have had so many bad experiences with poorly-trained students we made the decision not to take them on anymore. I'm sure you can Google another school who won't be so picky but based on this, I'm glad it won't be us.
Negative experience: Worst experience. They just need money by adding on lines that “This is not allowed” need to book date again by paying money extra. Think twice before enrolling in this. Don’t pay the full amount once so that you can save that amount even
Boots. Simple, if you wear boots as you were told then no problem. The confirmation email is very clear on that. Should you choose to ignore the things on the email, there is nothing we can do.
Fantastic experience: I did my CBT with Tia on the 29/07/23 and I had a really good time. Tia is an excellent instructor, made me feel welcome, was thorough at talking through about the bike and how to ride safely and was very knowledgeable. However, it does state tea and coffee available on the website but there wasn’t so make sure you take plenty to drink. As for the toilets @ Sittingbourne- not for the faint hearted lol
Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT training with Tia on the 15th April. Had a great day. Tia was a brilliant trainer, laughed all day but with serious knowledge and experience. Couldn’t do enough for all of us on the course that day. Very patient! Thank you for your help! And hope to be back soon for a full license! Thanks again!
Fantastic experience: I had the best day and Tia was fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Tia saw I was nervous and getting myself worked up as I was on a manual motorbike and the other two people was on automatic. Once Tia helped me to relax and find my feet again it felt like I had never been off a bike for 17 years Tia is a really good instructor and I learnt so much too compared to my other cbt test that was done 17 years ago at Gillingham.
Fantastic experience: Took my CBT on the 30th with Dave, couldn't have been happier with the experience, very knowledgeable and made the whole day feel calm and safe but very informative, equipment that was offered on the day was in good condition, if I could give 6 stars I would
Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT with this company (2/9/23) and was very happy with the service they provided was very informative and made me feel comfortable while being on the bike for the first time. The instructor (Dave Richard) made the concept of gears and how to ride straight forward, easy to understand and then put into practice. Would very much recommend him and the company to others. Will definitely be back for my full licence with them.
Thanks, see you soon!
Fantastic experience: For years I wanted a bike shop finally fine my CBT and had such a great day, learnt more then what I needed to complete it. Instructor was very clear with explaining everything, next year going back again to do my A1,
Negative experience: This company's cbts in Sittingbourne are absolutely awful for new riders. They are £150 not the "from £100" as listed on their website. I took a cbt here a few weeks ago as the only new rider. The other two trainees were an experienced rider renewing and one that had been failed before (for not being able to do figure 8s?? Would have been very easy to have spent more time with him on his first cbt to be able to do this). From the 5 hours I was at the centre, I spent approximately 40 minutes being allowed to 'practice' riding. This time involved up to 6 attempts at each part of the training, with long pauses in between. Each attempt was treated as a test that we kept failing. The instructions before and during each part were insufficient for a new rider. The instructor spent the majority of the course chatting casually with the more experienced students and on the phone. As well as this, he continually interrogated a more experienced students for any negative aspect of the training centre he had used previously and kept asking for us to review them negatively on Facebook (Phoenix Motorcycle Training). I improved immensely with each 'turn' and should have been able to complete the cbt in one day. However, as soon as I showed any improvement from a complete novice, we were rushed onto the next part. Due to the lack of actual training, I was unable to safely continue onto the on-road training. While being told that I should go home, the instructor continually asked me to describe honestly how being asked to go made me feel and if I would be rebooking my cbt with MKMT. My very polite answers to the same questions were ignored every time and it felt as though I was being provoked into an argument. I emailed MKMT describing the poor service above and was told that its all lies or just a joke. And they also admitted that they only allow 3 hours of off road practical training which is NOT the norm for cbts. All new riders should avoid this company at all costs!
Fantastic experience: Second time I've taken my cbt enjoyed both times, many thanks first class tuition
Fantastic experience: My son completed his CBT training today and have to say the whole experience was first class! My son did a taster session a few months ago then CBT today, would highly recommend both sessions, instructors are extremely knowledgable, friendly and patient - couldn't ask for more
Fantastic experience: Would like to thank Mid Kent motorcycle training for the care, support and dedication. I used them initially 2 years ago for my CBT and again today (17/03/2019) for my CBT renewal. The instructor Anna is very good, she explains everything and gives excellent advice. The company themselves are great and will always try and accommodate you. I would highly recommend them for all your motorcycle needs/training. 10/10 Thank You
Fantastic experience: My grandson is on cloud 9 over his day doing his CBT today ...thank you so much for your advice and patience. ..off to the bike shop for us !
Fantastic experience: The best motorbike shop around. Great customer service, from all of the staff, knowledge of bikes, clothing etc is second to none. Mot testing and bike repairs all done onsite, everything under one roof. Brilliant.
Fantastic experience: It was great fun doing the course! The instructors were funny and very patient. Do recommend!
Thank you. Nice to get real reviews instead of fake ones!
Negative experience: Felt so under pressure done very well on my CBT until the instructor made me feel so nervous am very disappointed and wouldn't recommend
You ran a red light and straight-lined two roundabouts without stopping - what else did you expect him to do but abort your roadride? Carry on and keep his fingers crossed that you make it through two hours alive?
Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT (25-02-18) Mid Kent Motorcycle. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience today. My first time on a road bike and my trainer was patient and knowledgeable to help me get on the road before the midday cut off. The instructor was a very professional, friendly and experienced. Their expertise helped me gain confidence and understanding to be able to complete the course and pass. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend using MKMT. - Joe Fish
Thank you, I will pass it on.
Fantastic experience: I did my CBT in Sittingbourne with this company I informed them that I have never driven a motorcycle before and they were very helpful with getting me through the course it was just me and this other lad that attended. It was snowing very heavily and the instructor asked would we still like to go out on the road or reschedule for another day me and the other lad decided to get it over and done with while we was there and the instructor was very patient and helpful would definitely recommend these guys
Thanks! Nice to see real reviews from real customers!
Fantastic experience: I did my CBT with Wayne on Christmas eve. He was very patient, while at the same time being very thorough with his guidance. He was quick to spot mistakes that I was making, and always offered tips to make my bike control better. I would recommend Mid Kent and Wayne in particular, and have done to my personal friends.
Many thanks, we seem to be getting a few fake reviews so it's good to see real ones!
Fantastic experience: After having completed my CBT elsewhere and wanting to do my DAS asap I spoke with Paul who was very helpful and managed to fit me in at very short notice due to a cancellation. I then received a half day of training for Mod 1 and 2 with Woody. After this we came to the conclusion I needed a further half day which was very helpful. In his approach to the training he was very patient in the areas where we needed more work and gave excellent feedback. Extremely thorough in his explanations to riding and road rules but careful not to over complicate the situation. Would not hesitate to recommend MKMT to anyone looking to complete training. Thanks very much Paul, Woody and the rest of the team.
Negative experience: Thankyou for your reply when I phoned to book I did explain to you that I have never been on a bike and you did not reply to what I had said you was taking about another client that had turn up in shorts and trainer I felt like your trainer had no time for us because we needed more time then the boys I will be speaking to DVSA about the CBT training thanks for the number thanks Samantha bond xx
It was made very clear when the booking was made that it is not always possible to master the geared machine in a single CBT session especially if you are nervous about it, and the cost of the return. You were also given 35 minutes of training alone, without the two lads on mopeds doing anything at all but watch you. And after I'd heard everything, I offered for you to come back for free. What else could I possibly have done to resolve this whole matter than what I have done?
Negative experience: Avoid not any good at all.Not possible to ride a bike from scratch in the time.Have to be road ready by 12.30 or you will be expected pay for another session not really the purpose of cbt training
I did think this had been resolved after two hours on the phone yesterday. Unfortunately there is no guaranteed CBT 'pass', something you were made well aware of when the booking was made.
I'm sorry we weren't able to sort this to your satisfaction, if you wish to take it further please contact the DVSA CBT section on 0115 936 6544.
Negative experience: Came here from a recommendation, admittedly, this call was made on a Sunday at 1PM, however I would not expect such appalling conduct from anybody and he should have just allowed me to leave a voicemail. After being impatient on the phone, I said I'd check the dates which I'd be available and after he thought I hung up I heard him badmouthing me to somebody else in the room! Would recommend C. White instead
