Fantastic experience: Done the CBT 3 Years ago with Dave and to my own fault allowed it to expire. Renewed CBT in May, Mod 1 passed in June, Passed mod 2 in August. Fantastic experience: Never on bike before until I spoke with Dave and attended the CBT. CBT, Mod 1 and mod 2 completed under his guidance in 7 weeks. Dave with regards to an instructor was exactly what I was looking for, experienced, knowledgable and straight talking. No messing around with extra lessons etc always pushing you in the right direction while giving confidence and encouragement. Canny recommend him enough. So if your looking to learn regardless of experience on a bike, look no further than Dave.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Learn2ride Derry enough, Mr David Russell has helped me through every step in getting my direct access passed. Not only that, with his expert teaching ability I’ve managed to pass every thing 1st time in a really short time frame. Seriously, I was so apprehensive about learning to ride and he completely put me at ease always watching, giving advice and tips how to improve on everything I was doing and had me feeling confident and excited about getting on the road. He even went out of his way to give me night/ weekend lessons and changed his whole schedule to suit me, the man is seriously the best instructor about. Check out his YouTube channel and videos, you’ll see what I’m talking about. The man has a true passion for getting people on the road, riding a bike as safely and efficiently as possible. 10/10 rating from me all day long!

Fantastic experience: Dave was a god send when it came to getting through my test, I have always had a passion for and been a big time motorcycle enthusiast but Dave was there to give me the push I needed to actually get through my test, I was well looked after on multiple occasions and became good friends with him over the time I spent leading up to and passing my test, first time might I add. Would 100% recommend anyone looking to get on 2 wheels to hit up Dave, you'll have your test passed in no time.

Fantastic experience: Dave is an excellent instructor, a gentleman and a very patient teacher My weakness was the confined figure of 8 but Dave persevered and got me doing it and gave me confidence to pass it on the test. His lessons and advice go above and beyond the requirements needed. Dave's lessons are great value and his bikes are suited to any ability.

Fantastic experience: Dave is an absolute gentleman with the patience of a saint. He picks up on the smallest of details that really helps and sticks with you. Hes always willing to work with you anytime he can my hours at work where all over the place and he always managed to find time for a lesson. From never being on a bike to passing my full licence took me 4 months. And for two of those i didnt have any lessons as i got a 125 to build some confidence on. Hes always answered any questions ive had and gave me alot of advice when looking to buy my current bike. Cant recommend highly enough

Fantastic experience: Dave helped me pass my A2 license a while back. This marked the beginning of my motorbiking journey and Dave was there at every step of the way. From helping me to pass my exam, introducing me to my mechanic to even picking my motorbike up for me. I have since been travelling all over and just passed my full license recently with 0 minors, always keeping Dave's safety tips at the back of my head.

Fantastic experience: I started my training with Dave having no gear and no experience, but a strong desire to get my licence. He sensed that straight away and gave me enough push at each stage to book myself in for each part of the test to pass in time for the summer . I was a ball of nerves at times with overthinking and being so eager to pass, but he got me through all parts FIRST GO by keeping me cool and focused. A very thorough teacher and a really civil bloke, passionate about sharing knowledge and advice, really loves seeing people achieve and goes out of his way to see what riding faults or thinking habits you have that are affecting your progress and irons them out without ever losing patience! Couldn't recommend him enough getting the bike licence is still the best thing I have done and was a really enjoyable experience throughout..

Fantastic experience: Having not ridden a bike since I used to ride dirtbikes as a kid I was nervous about the thought of riding on the road, but as I was turning 50 this year I decided it was now or never and I desperately wanted to have that opportunity. Fantastic experience: I did a course with Dave for a full license in 2015. Dave was very patient and explained the various quirks of the off road stations which I was having issues with. Due to time constraint I eventually obtained my full license from a different test centre. An excellent instructor and highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Dave was a fantastic teacher! I had never ridden before and he helped me achieve something I had always wanted to do. Even after passing my test he helped me find my perfect bike and offered additional advice for further safety on the road towards advanced road safety. He even introduced me to other learners/recent passers and we went on ride outs together where we built some good friendships and helped each other become better and safer riders. Fantastic experience: I came to motorcycles late in life - 56 to be exact. I had on my bucket list to bike to southern Portugal to meet up with a friend. Not only did Dave teach me how to pass the practical and get through the theory on the first attempt, he gave me the confidence to take on my epic journey. I found his teaching style relaxed but also very direct. I never felt nervous on the road with Dave no matter what the weather conditions or traffic were like. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent instructor.

Fantastic experience: Dave took me from wobbling around a car park to riding around most of ireland with nothing but road knowledge and skilled experience. Definitly after gaining licenses for lorries cars and bikes one of the best educators out there as the cool calm amd collected ways that he teaches are great for all aspects of learning not just to drive motorbikes but to do it well and with confidence.

Fantastic experience: Dave is the most complete trainer I am aware of. He is dedicated to motorcycling and to complete training. He does NOT train students to pass a test, he trains them to be top drawer motorcyclists. Top drawer motorcyclists WILL always then pass their test and ALSO have the wider skills to make them more complete bikers. I .have on occasion closely observed his training and students. Having not been on a bike for over 20yrs i was a bit nervous about it. But thanks to the patience of Dave and his teaching abilities he got me through it in a matter of no time. Fantastic experience: I used to ride a motorcycle 40yrs ago then stopped when I became a dad. Always promised myself a bike when I retired, I didn't realise I needed a different licence etc. for the bike I wanted but Dave kept me right. He helped me through the CBT etc. and was always accommodating if I had to change lesson times or days. Dave's a genuine responsible bike instructor who will never disappoint you. He's good craic and I'd recommend Dave to all potential bike riders (no matter how old you are!) He'll get you thru your CBTs 1 & 2 no problem, I wouldn't be on my Harley without Dave's help. Fantastic experience: Did CBT, Mod 1 and 2 with Dave over the course of a year. In all that time he was always professional, always encouraging and always attentive to the little details that could improve my riding skill and safety. At one point I was ready to quit but he kept my spirits up and I eventually passed my Mod 2 first go! I couldn't recommend L2R enough. The man's enthusiasm for all things bike related is infectious. I even bought one off him the day after my test! Simply put, you will not find a better man to get you off to the right start on your new life on two wheels
