Fantastic experience: I can’t really add anything else to the many, many positive reviews that Andy already has. He, and the training he provides, is absolutely faultless. A misspent youth on motocross bikes helped me go from a provisional to full A licence in 3.5 days, but, importantly, this was only possible because of Andy’s recognition of my ability and suggestion that I had the necessary skills to be successful, not to mention his calm, measured, instruction. He wasn’t in any way pushy or persuasive, and at the same time didn’t insist I needlessly conduct extra training purely to make money. His training is clearly tailored to the individual need and is most definitely not just a ‘one size fits all’, revenue generator. He will only book you in for a test when he knows you’re at the correct level to pass, and also teaches some brilliant ‘real world’ tips that I still have going through my head whenever I’m in the road! An absolute class act, can’t recommend him highly enough.

Toucan is by far the best motorcycle training school around, not only for how excellent Andy is with his tuition but also Andy will only put you through your tests when he knows your ready and will try to save you money where he can not just take take take! At toucan there’s no charge for any kit borrowed and also a range of bikes to suit the individual which is an outstanding offer in my opinion. Andy has some great facilities and mirrors his training exactly to your tests so you’re not only ready but very confident and comfortable in what is normally a nerve racking experience. When you finish with Toucan you feel confident to hit the road alone on 2 wheels! Fantastic experience: Andy was a great teacher and gave me and Chris all the skills we needed to pass our mod 1 and 2 first time. He made sure we both were confident and took us through all the possible scenarios before the test. The bikes provided were also excellent! Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I booked to do my A2 DAS with Andy recently and passed first time! The course was structured as follows; Day 1 consisted of a basic refresher of the CBT aspects like U turn and slow riding. I did this on a 125cc bike but I'm not sure if that's always the case. 2 hour day charged at £80 Day 2 I moved to the larger bike (310cc I believe) and we did training for Mod1. We also rode to the test centre in Taunton for a little bit of Mod2 practice and Mod1 practice on the real test area. I found this really helpful come the test as I knew exactly what to expect, and was able to practice with the speed measuring device used in the tests. Day 3 was a small bit of Mod1 training in the morning, a ride to the test centre, and the Mod1 test. After the test, we did some Mod2 practice around Taunton where Andy took us round the routes commonly used by the examiners. Day 4 was Mod2 test day, we started practicing move offs, show me tell me questions, and pillion knowledge. We rode to the test centre and did more practice around the test routes. Then we went back to do the test! My only gripe is that Andy was not willing to take credit cards unless the fee was added to the total. I am aware this is not allowed by the payment providers, but I agreed to pay it on the premise that I wanted to keep him on side (i.e. I didn't want to damage the working relationship which could have negatively affected my training). The fee was 2.5% which does add up, so this was fairly frustrating. In general though Andy was a great guy to work with, he was knowledgeable and helpful with all aspects of the training. He was easy to communicate with via email and text, and was able to get me in with short notice which was great. He also was very quick to send other learners home if they didn't progress at an acceptable pace. I see this as a good thing, as it shows he knows what is required and doesn't waste the other learners time / hold them back. The equipment at Toucan was decent quality, though the helmet didn't smell the freshest (wasn't expecting it to be amazing). The bike I rode also had the service light on, but Andy assured me this wasn't an issue? Overall I would recommend Toucan, I enjoyed my time there and passed first time so I can't complain!

Fantastic experience: Toucan were brilliant from start to finish. They were able to get me out on lessons with them quickly and get my mod 1 & 2 tests booked and me pass them first time. They provide tailored training based on the individuals and do not just book you in for lessons that you don’t need which as a student saves you money and time while still feeling reassured that you are achieving a high standard. Fantastic experience: Andy at Toucan is a fantastic instructor with excellent communication and a methodical, clear teaching style. Thanks to Andy, I was able to complete CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 in a week. Toucan training center has excellent facilities which enable full, realistic Mod 1 run throughs. The motorcycles are meticulously maintained and more than fit for purpose. Toucan also has good kit available to be borrowed if you require it as I did. I have been uttlerly impressed thoughout my training with toucan. Andy went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable and ensured I knew what was expected of me to progress. He is also a font of all things on two wheels with a motor, and is happy to talk though kit and equipment for those looking to get started in the world of motorcycling. Thoughout the last 4 days I have spent on the road, I have never been left wondering which turn, speed or direction was next which is testament to Andy's ability as an instructor. Many thanks Andy!

Fantastic experience: I have recently done my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 training and tests with Toucan via the direct access course and I must say Andy is second to none. Highly professional and very very good at training and getting you to understand what is needed to ride the correct way and ultimately get your licence. I am very pleased with the level of service I recieved and the price is very reasonable also compared to others. Also you get to practice your Mod 1 and the DVSA test centre prior to doing your test which other instructors aren't keen on! I also found the other instructors at the test centre respectfully knew Andy and his level of training which was, lets say, very comforting and i knew i was in safe hands. 10/10. Very highly recommend. Very very pleased customer. Once again, thanks Andy.

The training days were interesting, fun and, above all, very informative and useful. The training site works very and allows you to build confidence gradually. The training was structured very well and time was spent focussing on the areas that required more improvement. The way Andy built my skills over a few days was perfect and enabled me to pass Mod1 and Mod2 first time. I can see why his pass rate is so high, his method works! I could picked several other schools closer to my home but am very glad I chose to travel a little further afield for my training, plus Toucan are very competitively priced.

Fantastic experience: Amazing training by Andy, helped me so much to gain my A2 license, went to a few motorcycle schools before for different reason and none are as good as Toucan. got me booked in for my mod 2 super quick and he was trying to get me in even sooner. Great person to be around and a great trainer. really inviting atmosphere and will go over everything which you need to improve on. cannot fault toucan at all. if you want to gain any motorbike license,. this is the place to go. I would recommend to anyone to go here.

Fantastic experience: I’ve recently completed an Intensive training course with Andy at Toucan and I’ve got to say what a pleasure it was. The standard of training recieved is quality, of which enabled me pass both my Mod 1 and 2 first time round. If you’re looking for a training school, I could not suggest Toucan enough.

Fantastic experience: Passed both Mod 1 & 2 first time following 4 days with Toucan. Can’t speak highly enough of the training I received from Andy. Not only from his technical knowledge and experience. But also the fact he took us to practice at the test centre prior, which really helped settle the nerves and made me feel very confident for when the real mod1 test came. It would appear no other training centres utilise this method. Which for me, is a big miss. Likewise, Andy prepped me for rare scenarios that could come up in Mod 2, which believe it or not, did come up. Without this I would have undoubtedly failed. The bikes are great, and it was an enjoyable 4 days.

Fantastic experience: Recently passed my mod 1 and 2 test and it is all thanks to the top quality training I received at Toucan motorcycle training. Andy has lots of experience and he will do whatever he can to give you the best chance of passing, even if that means adjusting the fork height to help with your weak points. The bikes and gear are well maintained and easy to get comfortable with. Andy's training sessions are almost exactly how the tests are so you will not be surprised by what examiner asks you to do. Overall would recommend Toucan motorcycle training to anyone who is looking for comprehensive training and wants to do there test knowing every aspect of what there being tested on.

The school provided an exceptional learning environment that allowed me to gain the skills and confidence needed to safely operate a motorbike. Fantastic experience: Call it an early mid-life crisis, but I wanted to get my full A licence at 41 years old via DAS. With very limited riding experience I called Andy. The following week I had my CBT and some 'big bike training' in the bag and on week 2, I passed both MOD 1 & MOD 2 first time and just 2 weeks after making the call I'm big bike shopping. I can't believe I spent 18 months procrastinating before calling. Andy is experienced, easy going, patient, encouraging and knows his stuff. He is also able to relay his knowledge clearly at a pace which is manageable and unrushed (while also not dragging it out unnecessarily). If you're unsure whether or not to call Toucan, the right answer is Yes! pick up the phone you wont regret it. I seriously doubt you'll find a better instructor!

Fantastic experience: Andy is professional, pleasant and accommodating, tailoring the training to your needs. I was looking to upgrade my A2 license to a full A license after a lazy seven years of restricted riding. I spent a half day practicing Mod 1 & 2 riding prior to a full day with some more Mod 1 practice first thing, followed by the test. Then a couple of hours Mod 2 riding around the test area prior to the second test in the afternoon. Both tests passed first time, testament to Andy’s training. His equipment, bikes and facilities are top notch and reflect his passion for motorcycling and effective training. To top it off, he was competitively priced and offered the best value for money for my requirements. I can’t recommend Andy’s services enough.

Fantastic experience: What can I say. Fantastic training I can't fault them. Passed my motorbike theory test and toucon motorcycle training got me in within a week and passed first time on my mod 1 and mod 2 Andy is a fantastic instructor. Very calm and exsplains everything very well. I can't honestly say it's the best training I've ever had. The bikes are very very well maintained. Even on my training I was riding a brand new bike. Thank you again toucon motorcycle training all I can say is you are fantastic. Anyone who asks me about training I'll be sending them your way 100%. Fantastic experience: I came to Toucan off the back of these 5* reviews, so it's only fair I add to them now I've seen why. I think it's fair to say that if any training centre can get you through your test, you're going to give them a good review, but there's more to it than that. I arrived at Toucan as an inexperienced 125cc rider with confidence issues and some terrible braking habits. After just 2 full days of training I was confidently riding a 700cc Yamaha MT-07 to the test centre. That in itself is testament to Andy's training style but the secret ingredient was the Saturday training at the test centre! You can ride around cones in a car park as much as you like but nothing will prepare you for MOD 1 like practicing exactly where you're going to be tested (with all important speed trap!), which is a privilege not offered by most training schools. When Andy says "You ride like that on Monday, you'll pass MOD 1" you believe it! I knew every mistake that I could be marked down for and what to avoid. Stats speak for themselves and Toucan rightly pride themselves on their pass rate, so if you're not ready you'll not be forced to a test (although if Andy says you're ready, trust him!). On test day, following MOD 1 we took a ride around all the potential test routes, identified those sharp bends, difficult junctions and possible problematic areas so by the time MOD 2 came around it was 35 mins of the same just without the commentary, by which time "Look ahead, plan ahead" echoes around your mind like a mantra anyway! The bottom line, if you want to pass your tests and feel safe and confident on a big bike, stop searching, Toucan Motorcycle Training is the place to come!

Fantastic experience: Andy is a great instructor, friendly, professional and a good laugh. This coupled with the modern bikes and great training area means that he has a great pass rate (I passed mod 1 & 2 first time) he doesn't charge you for more training than you need once he's assessed your ability and he trains you to a standard that makes the tests feel somewhat relaxed. I message Andy on the off chance he had a space for a CBT and in the end went for the whole package (DAS) after speaking with him. He is a very patient and firm instructor who wasn't afraid of ironing out my old habits when it was need and trust me it was! I can't recommend these guys enough and if you're thinking about going for any instructions in motorcycle training then give Toucan Motorcycle Training a shout. Fantastic experience: Well where to start... In my line of work as a Royal Marine, it's all about professionalism and the finer details. These boys (both Andy's) have gone above and beyond with their rider coaching skills. I feel so lucky to have had Andy teach me how to ride a motorcycle aswell as feel safe during the process. To give you an idea, the last bike i had was a 50cc 14 years ago. Andy got me through both my MOD 1 & MOD 2 in just 4 full training sessions with a few minors combined. If you are thinking about CBTs and the DAS training, look no further..These are the boys you should choose without a shadow of a doubt. After doing my CBT with a local school two years ago, I looked elsewhere to do my A2 and I'm so glad I did. Andy is a brilliant instructor and instilled me with confidence in my own abilities. I went on to pass both my MOD 1 and MOD 2 first time, and after watching the other schools instructors and students I'm glad I looked elsewhere! At first I didn't think I'd need all the training that Andy had proposed, but my advice would be to take his advice on how many lessons you need, he knows his stuff and he wasn't wrong! Andy's incredible knowledge and passionate approach to motorcycle training made the whole experience a joy and I am very happy with the quality of training I received. I cannot recommend Toucan enough!

Fantastic experience: I took my training with a friend for our full motorbike licences (Direct Access). Andy is very calm, patient and professional in his approach and took us from riders with limited experience to quickly, having the skill for both of us to pass both MOD 1 & MOD 2 first time. Whilst the drive is there to get students to pass first time, it is not at the expense of cutting corners and we both came away feeling we had received thorough training with each stage and requirement being clearly explained. Having asked Andy about his interest in bikes and the number of bikes he has himself, it is apparent that he is a true motorcycling enthusiast that wants to see many more people enjoying motorcycling, but doing so safely. I would highly recommend Toucan Motorcycle Training.

Not only does he make it his purpose to get each of his students trained to a very high standard, but also through both tests at DVSA in Taunton. None of it was easy, but I've been trained by a pro! All transactions very straight forward, educational atmosphere and the Yamaha MT-07s are a great choice training bike.

Fantastic experience: Aged 54, last rode a bike 30 years ago. Tried a taster at a different school before finding Andy at Toucan. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. Went from a novice rider to completing A2 license within roughly a month, all the training was of a high standard, delivered at a good pace and flexible enough to suit my needs. Andy was polite, professional and a great instructor throughout whilst being realistic when it comes to how ready you are for a test. Overall a great experience delivered for a good price and look forward to going back again to complete DAS for a full license!

Fantastic experience: As a 54 year 'old dog' with no previous experience I approached Toucan Motorcycling Training for a CBT to DAS course. From the outset I was greatly impressed by the professional communication and set-up. The bikes equipment and facilities are first class with plenty of space to find your feet. Andy is a hugely experienced, first class instructor who puts you at ease whilst carefully assessing your training needs. The course was perfectly paced for my aged ability and I passed my CBT, MOD 1and MOD 2 tests first time. More importantly I feel entirely confident and safe going solo, all thanks to Andy's patient and precise instruction. Plus it was great fun despite the weather and nerves! Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Toucan because Andy is an excellent instructor, he's patient, friendly and very experienced. He takes pride on what he does and simply put - he cares. Andy got me to pass both tests first time round but more importantly he taught me how to be safe and confident on the road. Toucan is excellent value for money. There will be cowboys out there that will promise to get you through the tests for a little bit less money but it will work out more expensive and demoralising if you don't pass first time round... In my opinion, this is a once in a lifetime experience so it makes sense to be under the wing of a reputable instructor that does not cut corners, provides you with top quality equipment and has a good training ground - it is a lot easier and more enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: Andy is a cracking instructor, with no big bike experience he got me through my cbt,mod 1 and mod 2 in around one month. I am now fully qualified and I feel very comfortable on a big bike. Andy is very patient and very good at making you a safe and competent rider. I would definitely recommend him as a training instructor. And he makes a nice brew too. The training ground is nice and big. The bikes are very well maintained and a pleasure to ride.

Fantastic experience: Little bit late leaving this review. Completed my CBT with Andy in May 2018 followed by some further tuition on a geared bike. I passed my Direct Access bike test in full in September 2018. While it did take 2 attempts (my fault) to pass my Mod2, I was extremely happy with the patient teaching that Andy provided. I hope to go back and have my Advanced Riding training with Toucan in the future.

Fantastic experience: I had completed my CBT with another company but as a result of no availability I had to find another centre. This was a blessing in disguise as Andy and the Toucan family were the best. From start to finish it was a pleasure and Andy turned what could be a fritening experience into a really enjoyable one. Other companies may rush you through but actually found it better value, more enjoyable and more beneficial learning with Andy. I was able to pass Mod 1 & Mod 2 in the same day confidently and felt 100% supported and ready. You can cut corners and you’ll fall short on test day, I didn’t and credit Andy 100% with this. Fantastic experience: Brilliant service - Definite recommendation! I completed my progressive access licence from an A2 to an A licence with Andy and I could not be happier with the service I received. We completed the required training in a timely manner. I was riding the MT-07 which was great for me because I'm not the tallest person you'll meet and the bike was great and has ABS (making the mod 1 a little easier). As I had an A2, ironing out faults and so on is important and I felt confident on test day. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the amount of time spent on the bike on test day (£160). Also, Toucan has access to tests which you are not able to book so make sure to check with them before booking as you may get a test much faster! TLDR; Great service, great price, great bikes and great instruction.

Fantastic experience: As a complete motorcycle beginner I went to see Andy at Toucan to get my A licence via the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) which included CBT, MOD1 instruction and test, then MOD2 instruction and test. I did it all on their beautifully maintained bikes and used their crash helmets, jackets, gloves and boots. The day’s CBT course was taken on a Yamaha YBR125, and for the MOD1 and MOD2 I chose the 689cc Yamaha MT07 which was an utter delight to ride! I really can not emphasise too much how professional Andy’s instruction is. When I started I was useless - even trying to change gear with my right foot I was that new to motorcycling. He took personal interest in me and made sure I was ready for the test before we rode to the test centre, where I passed both modules first time. This is a very important point because some training schools do precious little, then just escort you to the test centre and wish you luck! Andy even books the test for you. He also tries to arrange lessons to accommodate you, rather than just tell you this is when the lessons are, take it or leave it. Seriously, if you want to learn to ride a motorcycle properly then give Andy a call - it is clear that he takes real pleasure in helping people learn and learn well.
