Fantastic experience: I had an exceptional experience training with Ace. After a negative encounter with another school, they were incredibly accommodating and took me on, helping me secure both a training and test date for my Mod 2 in no time. Derek, hands down, is one of the best instructors I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Having trained with several others before, he stood out for his thoroughness and expertise. Despite facing a rather grumpy examiner, I passed on my first attempt, thanks to Derek's excellent guidance. I can't recommend this school highly enough – they truly go above and beyond!

Positive experience: I passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 with ACE, and I'd recommend their training for your Mod 2. If you're lucky enough to get Derek, he's an exceptional instructor who really cares about his students (he only teaches the Mod 2 training days). Come my test day it had been a while since I rode, and while the other student was out doing his test Derek could see I was visibly nervous and took out some of his own time to practice with me a bit more before the test (this was in freezing morning weather too). Derek is a great teacher, and, as I said, I feel like he does genuinely care, and knows how to teach. Don't bother with Ace if you're trying to pass your Mod 1, unless you already have significant experience. The training takes place in a children's playground, it's very short, and there's not enough room in the space to reach the speed for many of the fast manoeuvres the Mod 1 requires. And for some reason they only teach the hazard avoidance on one side. Fiona is a nice lady and person, but as an instructor I didn't feel she added much value. Tony brushes over the teaching, and I don't feel he really gave a crap if I passed or not. That said, he does listen if you try and ask him something. I needed a bit more guidance on my manual handling, and he took the time out to show me. Again, outside of being an instructor, and when you get talking to him over a coffee he's a really nice bloke. I'd still recommend Ace if you're going for your Mod 2.

Fantastic experience: Fiona and Tony both provided great training! I've heard great things about Derick too (just wasn't trained by him during the 4 days). They made learning how to ride and control a larger bike really easy to understand, and not at all rude or 'angry' about telling you how to improve (like I've experienced previously). They both kept a really relaxed attitude, taught clearly, cracked jokes, and made learning fun - really helping keeping nerves at bay in the process. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to do their CBT/DAS course

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend this school enough! Tony and Derek are great instructors! Very patient, friendly, can have a laugh with them and at the same time they’re very professional! Their instruction techniques and knowledge are top quality! They take you through the test centre routes to get you familiar and comfortable with the area. They also advise you of any potential hazards that may pop up so you don’t get caught out and also keep you safe throughout the whole course. Because of their solid tuition I passed my MOD1 and MOD2 on first attempts with no riding faults! I’d be happy to steer anyone towards your riding school! Also helps that the school costs are very reasonable and lower than other schools I found in the local area! Bikes are Yamaha MT07’s- Well maintained, very comfortable and very forgiving to ride. Fantastic experience: Completed my DAS (A2) at Ace motorbike training in Ewell, passed my Mod 1 first time and my Mod 2 on the second try! Derek was amazing throughout my whole time training, really knowledgeable in everything he’s doing and giving useful advice/tips on how to pass. Thank you to Tony for helping me on the day I passed my Mod 2 and thank you to Fiona for arranging all my modules and talking me through everything on the phone. See you in 2 years for my Full A license!

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t have asked for a better training school, I’ve gone from riding a geared bike once before to passing my mod1 and mod2 in a week. The routes they use are perfect for building your confidence and skill on a bike, the bike itself was incredible to learn on being a MT-07. A special shoutout to Tony for arranging my test and keeping me informed even whilst he’s on holiday! And to Derek who was calm and patient with me throughout, I couldn’t have got a better instructor. We done some amazing rides and I’ll forever be grateful. If you’re thinking about doing your license go for it, you will not regret it and you will be in safe hands with this training school.

Negative experience: I enrolled in the DAS Course at ACE Motorcycle Training and had a positive experience during my Mod 1 training with Derek. He was friendly, and we built a good rapport, making the training enjoyable. However, on the day of my Mod 2 test, I was surprised to find a new instructor, Tony, without prior communication. This was discouraging, and unfortunately, I failed my Mod 2 that day. Attempts to rebook were frustrating as i couldnt make the initial date they suggested. Despite waiting for a response sadly I did not receive any follow up. I eventually passed with another local company but would have preferred to complete the entire course with ACE. Mixed feelings about the overall experience.

Fantastic experience: I went with Ace Motorcycle training for my full A licence. Fiona and Tony were very polite and got me booked in and also special thanks to Fiona for the advice on heated gloves Mod 1 training was in the pouring rain with Tony but i still had a fantastic time, Tony was good fun but very informative, gave me good advice and constructive criticism. His methods work because I passed my Mod 1 with flying colours. I spent the next two sessions on the road with Derek, he was a pleasure to learn from and a very friendly and easy to talk to. He took the time to ask me and the other pupil what we'd like to work on before our Mod 1 exam but also gave us a very thorough road ride making sure we were prepared for the Mod 2. I'm pleased to say I passed my Mod 2 with with a clean sheet, no minors ! A big thank you to everyone at Ace motorcycle training, you made the whole experience very fun and informative for me and i am forever grateful for all your hard work. Fantastic experience: Completed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 with Ace and passed both first time. Fiona was very helpful and flexible when booking in my training and tests. She also gave me advice on what I could practice for the Mod 1 prior to the training starting which was a big help. Tony had great knowledge of the roads and explained all of the Mod 2 stuff very well. His instructions were clear and I understood everything he told me. Derek did majority of my Mod 1 and Mod 2 training and took me for both of my tests. He demonstrated all of the Mod 1 exercises clearly and gave me great pointers for my clutch control and rear brake use. He really made me feel comfortable and believed in me throughout my training which was a massive factor in me passing first time on both. Great instructors and a great riding school. If you want to pass go with Ace!!!

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 for A license thanks to Tony, Fiona and Derek - They are so good and patient that I feel they do this since forever. All 3 were patient, persistent and encouraging throughout the course. The bikes for training are nearly brand new and in immaculate condition. the Yamaha MT07 is a joy to train on. Ace Motorcycles dont train you to pass the test, but to ensure you become a better and responsible rider. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I chose Ace Training to put me through the direct access route to an unrestricted motorcycle license. At age 65, and having not ridden a motorcycle for well over 40 years, I thought it was going to be a challenge for Ace to get me up to speed in a short period of time. I really can’t praise Fiona, Tony and Derek enough! Their skill, knowledge, patience and determination paid off and I now have my full licence and a big smile on my face! Five stars is not enough for this amazing team of professionals and I will benefit going forward too from all the ‘self preservation’ techniques I have learned to go with my license!

Fantastic experience: Did my A2 with them and they were simply brilliant. Very professional and friendly, it was a pleasure to do my course with them. Derek was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire course. I met Tony on the day of my Mod 2 and he was also really nice. Amazing experience, you will not regret doing your courses with them.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service! I was able to complete my cbt on a geared 125 Honda and full licence on an xj6. I had plenty of riding time and support. I only contacted the team 8 days before starting the course and they were able to get me fully trained, confident and passing my test - with no issues in under 2 weeks. I couldn't believe their ability to provide spaces for completing tests and lessons!

Fantastic experience: Derek was a great tutor and was nice to meet Fiona and have a different perspective on the lesson before my Mod2. I fell in love with the Mt07 I did my training on and will probably end up buying one one day! Overall a very enjoyable and pleasant experience for a very reasonable price.

Fantastic experience: First time riding a geared bike and Tony And Fiona were both excellent. They were recconmeded to me by a friend and I would 100% recconmend them to anybody wanting to learn. They both took time to spend individual time with each learner and really helped build confidence. 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: Great experience all round - I did my CBT with Tony last summer and completed the set with my A licence last week thanks to Derek's expert tuition. Fantastic experience: Top level instructors. I passed my mod1 and mod2 first time thanks to the precise and pleasant riding training provided. The whole process was painless. I enjoyed the training rides on the MT-07 around surrey and the exam became just a smooth ride. Coming from London Chelsea it’s easy to reach in less than 30 mins.

Positive experience: Frustrated and let down. While I understand the covid19 pandemic has affected everyone, the lack of contact, and lack of information provided has been disappointing. I've tried so many times to get an update about when I can resit a mod1, and that was after trying for months to get a mod1 course! Once you actually get there Fiona and Tony and friendly and helpful, but the communication deficit leaves a lot to be desired - as per the months with no reply you can see below. It is now March and I have yet to have a response to a question I started asking in October last year. I will now be calling to request a refund because I'm done with chasing up.

Fantastic experience: Used Ace to get my 'A' licence and was extremely happy with their service. The guys that work there were all fantastic and it is clear that they are doing a job they should be. Tony's no nonsense, straight talking approach is exactly what's needed to teach a beginner how to start riding bikes quickly but safely. Tony has so much experience as an instructor and motorcycle enthusiast, that he is like a walking motorbike encyclopedia. I had complete confidence in him and it paid off as I walked away with a full licence and was able to enjoy cat 'A' motorbikes immediately afterward, safe in the knowledge that I had been taught by someone who knows exactly what he's talking about. I also dealt with Fiona several times, booking lessons, tests and asking advice. She was straight talking, efficient, professional and a right laugh to boot. Again, Fiona clearly knows what she's talking about and gives you confidence from the moment you come into contact with her. Derrick also helped me leading up to my Mod2. Now here is an example of someone who should be instructing/teaching. Calm, assertive and patient, with an ability to keep things light when you're at your most stressed. I'd say genuinely, one of the good guys and I'm so very grateful that I am now able to enjoy bikes as a hobby and as of a direct result of his tuition and experience. I passed quite some time ago and only today realised I never thanked the guys at Ace for their help getting me through my 'A' licence. So I write this review as way of showing my sincere gratitude for all they did.

Positive experience: Fiona and Tony are very good at what they do, I paid for a direct access course from them, passed my CBT as well as my module 1 which I am very happy about, they are really pleasant but after 6 months of waiting, continously calling them and leaving them messages they did not get back to me, I am disappointed that I had to seek my module 2 training and test elsewhere, they did get back in contact with me though and apologised profusely, I can imagine everyone in some way has been affected with the new world we are living in and it is hard. I would still recommend them even though I experienced a little bump in the road as they are very good instructors. Thank you both for all your teaching and help.

Fantastic experience: Never Too Old To Learn To Ride I can’t recommend ACE Motorcycle Training more highly. What a fantastic team. The instructors are professional, experienced, knowledgable, and make the Direct Access Course enormous fun. A huge ‘Thank You’ to Fiona and Tony. They taught me - a female, mature, apprehensive student - to ride a Yamaha MT07. I was out of my comfort zone but I absolutely loved every minute of it. My ability and confidence grew so much that I passed Mod 1 and 2 first time on the same day in Mitcham - the day before my 57th Birthday! I couldn’t have done it without them. I’m just sad it’s all over and only wish I’d done it years ago. I’m now looking forward to many adventures on two wheels with my husband when he retires - never too old! Fantastic experience: Great experience with Ace Motorcycle Training in Ewell! The whole team were very welcoming and supportive to ensure I was well prepared for both my Mod 1 and 2 direct access tests. I hadn’t been on a geared bike for almost 2 years (when I completed geared cbt) and the team got me test ready on a 600cc in just three days worth of training. Passed mod 1 last week and mod 2 today. Fantastic experience: Getting back on to two wheels after forty years was daunting. I booked my Direct Access with Ace Motorcycle training and they didn't let me down. Just finished having passed my Mod2 first attempt. Biggest thanks go to Fiona who had the patience of a saint with me, and I can't praise her highly enough. Fantastic experience: I spent weeks reading reviews and trying to find the right Motorcycle Training Centre, and luckily I found it with Ace Training. I did my CBT 3 weeks ago and I found Fiona and Tony exceptionally welcoming and nothing was to much trouble for them, they also made you feel like you had a one to one learning experience even with another 8 attendees. They were both very polite and accommodating, even for those where English was not their first language. I was in the same class as Ange Abdalla and witnessed went on, and unfortunately they were a danger to be on the road and both instructors were not rude and just told them what they didn't want to hear. Fantastic experience and I look forward to doing my Direct Access in the next couple of months. Keep up the great work Ace!

Fantastic experience: Tony and Fiona taught me from CBT to Mod 2 pass in 5 days over a 2 week period, all during the covid crisis!!! I had not really ridden a bike before but Tony made it easy throughout from day 2 through to day 5.

I was originally apprehensive about riding a 700cc bike but my brilliant instructor Derek, taught me how to manoeuvre this heavy bike around cones and through heavy traffic. Fantastic experience: Fantastic riding school. Great friendly instructors who made the whole experience of upgrading my licence easy. The lessons felt relaxed but constructive. Even as a A2 licenced rider who has been riding for 6 years, these guys were able to improve my riding further and get me through both modules stress free. I would highly recommend Ace motorcycle training to both beginners and those looking to upgrade there licence.

Fantastic experience: After a spell of 2 years without riding a bike I was reluctant to go for my full licence. I arrived at ace motorbike training and was immediately reassured by Tony who I met first. His knowledge and experience of riding showed and he passed it on to our group in a very clear and enjoyable manner. I spent the next few days riding around the area with Declan. I had such a laugh and my ability to control and handle a bike improved imencly under his instruction. Fiona was also super helpful in assisting me to book a suitable date for my mod 2. She noted the dates that I was free and called me up if they received a cancellation for the date. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend this training school.

Fantastic experience: I booked onto the 5 day direct access course having only ever ridden a motorbike in Thailand over 20 years ago. Firstly Tony was very helpful and picked me up and took me to the CBT training ground, by the end of the 1st day I had my CBT under my belt. From this point it was riding a motorbike to & from pick up point to areas of the test centre. Derek took over after my CBT and equally has excellent manner about him and is very patient. In honesty I cant compare ACE Rider Training to any other companies offering intensive courses as I didn't learn with others but what I can say is that the way each morning & afternoon session developed so did my confidence & ability allowing progression from a 125cc bike to a 600cc bike then a 700cc bike & onto winding country roads, faster A Roads and also duel carriage ways. Entering the Mod 1 test I felt confident as a result of the progressive training before and then a week later taking the Mod 2 test again felt very confident all totally as a result of the progressive nature of the training received. I would not hesitate in recommending Ace Motorcycle Training to anyone wishing to learn to ride a motorbike.

Fantastic experience: I very recently completed a Direct Access Course with ACE, and wanted to wait until it was completed to leave the most comprehensive review possible. The centre itself is an easy to find office in Epsom, and there is clearly a very high degree of organisation within the business. Where to meet, when and what to bring was clearly communicated in advance, alongside a great deal of information about what to expect on the course. I have no previous experience with Motorcycles, and all of my questions in advance were answered carefully and promptly. The first day was the CBT, which ran smoothly and was conducted by a very friendly and helpful instructor. The off-road section was completed in a private car park rented exclusively by ACE (so there was no one else around other than those doing the course). On the second day (the start of the Direct Access) began with a informative brief about the Module 1 test, where the opportunity to ask questions was always provided, followed by on-road instruction in small groups. The instruction itself was carefully scaffolded to ensure that knowledge is built upon knowledge; in essence, you are given the right training to move you to the next step, without being very overwhelmed. Each day you are moved onto a higher powered bike. This worked especially well for me (with no experience) as I was able to work up to the big bikes the tests are conducted on. I personally was a bit daunted at first at the speed of the course, but my concerns quickly dissipated. These guys are brilliant at getting you from a point of no experience to test standard in a short space of time. Because of the careful instruction, I passed my Mod1 with no faults, and the Mod2 with minimal faults. This centre is directly associated with Honda, so you ride on decent and well-kept bikes, and borrow gear that is of high quality. The centre will provide you with tips and tricks on where to buy clothing, and how to take advantage of discounts. As with all companies, there are spates of negative reviews, but I would urge you to take these with a serious pinch of salt - it appears that most of the negativity stems from not passing a test and holding the centre accountable for this. As someone with no previous experience, I can say firsthand that you are equipped with everything you need to pass the test perfectly. In summary, if you are considering any kind of motorcycle training, whether a CBT or further, this centre would be a very good choice. Fantastic experience: If you're looking around for a place to learn to ride, stop looking and instead give Fiona a call at Ace Motorcycles. I spent 4 days with them (their £599 direct access course) and completed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 courses without even a minor fault in either. I put this down to their excellent teaching, specifically Mick who, quite frankly, I wish I could pay to teach me other life skills. He was knowledgable and thorough in his methods and importantly always positive which made learning really easy. It's nice to pay someone and get a service better than what you expect and that is what happened with my time at Ace. The least I could do was leave a great review to in some way repay them for helping me get my licence.

Fantastic experience: i left my mod 1 and 2 very last minute before my theory ran out and with not much experience on the road so with thanks to Fiona and Derek , i managed to gain the experience and knowledge to pass both mod 1 and 2 first time in such a small amount of time perfect and professional teaching and fitted me in for additional training with no problems much recommended and professional instructors (5 STAR)

Fantastic experience: Luke who did my CBT but still remembered me a year later, when I returned to get my full licence with Derrick who has such a lovely manner, reassuring and firm at the same time, Fiona who takes no nonsense but a great giggle with immense insight, and Tony who even helped out with my old bike’s carburettor woes, what a lovely, knowledgeable and passionate bunch, I’m almost sad they were so efficient at getting me licensed up, I feel a safer rider and a little sad it’s all over!

Fantastic experience: I have ridden on a 125, 7 years ago and was not to sure if I could handel a 700cc bike. But Derek was really patient and was very professional to help build my confidence on it. Did my CBT with them aswell and I was surprised to learn alot of new techniques to handel the bike. Derek went through very important theories on how to ride on the road and made it fun at the same time. He took us nice and early to test center for MOD 1 and showed us how the test will go. He was really patient and gave us clear instructions through out the training. I spent so much time on the training bike that I went and bought the same model bike .
