Fantastic experience: Had my CBT on 16.11 with Mark as a beginner to motorcycles and riding a motorcycle. I was nervous and I was asking myself if I can really do it. But the way Mark explained everything and guided on how to understand the bike and its controls reassured me and I slowly started to enjoy it. I did not had huge expectations from myself but I really got better and better at it and my confidence went up because of Mark's continuous feedback on everything I was doing right or wrong. Understanding why I make a mistake was really useful. Being out on the road made me enjoy being on a bike and in the end I am sure I took the right decision to book my CBT with Shireoak. I have read many reviews before booking of other schools that do not really like complete new beginners, but this was not the case. If you are at the start of your journey like I am, I would highly recommend Shireoak and especially Mark. I will definitely be back for CBT renewal in 2 years or more lessons if I feel ready for the 'big bike' transition.

Fantastic experience: Mark was amazing. There was myself and another chap doing the training as he only does 2 riders at a time so that he can be that extra bit more thorough and spend more time with people who aren't so confident or have little experience. The other chap was struggling a little and Mark was extremely helpful with him and spent more time than normal people would have spent with him but did a great job. Fantastic experience: I started at Shireoak Motorcycle Training as a COMPLETE BEGINNER and, thanks to Mark's excellent teaching, I was confidently riding my new Yamaha MT125 in just two days. Mark's training was clear, patient, and very practical. He made sure I understood everything from the basics to road safety. His feedback was always helpful, making me a better rider quickly. The training was so effective that I've already covered 200 miles in 2 days on my bike :) Mark doesn't just teach you to ride; he gives you the confidence to enjoy the roads safely. Fantastic experience: Having had a truly horrendous experience elsewhere I was recommended Shire Oak from a whole bunch of people I should've asked in the first place. The day was the direct opposite of my previous farce. Mark was friendly, patient and knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions throughout the day... Even questions that weren't directly related to the CBT but about bikes in general. I was put at ease early, things were explained in a very clear and understandable way and he very quickly picked up on the best tempo of progress to suit my learning. All in all he turned a test (I know it's not a "test" ) day in to an actually enjoyable day and Shire Oak will be my first phone call when I'm ready for something bigger. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Having completed a CBT in the past, at another school, the experience at Shire Oak was night and day... incredibly thorough. Mark had a level of knowledge and experience that meant every section of the training covered the requirements but was equally tailored to me as an individual, by adding extra knowledge on top, to make me a safer and more knowledgeable rider whilst giving me tips for my MOD1 and MOD2 as that was my next steps. Mark is a people's person, patient and incredibly easy to get on with... making the day that much more comfortable, with an environment that is easy to ask questions and learn in. Would recommend this school 110%, you aren't taught to just pass, you're taught to ride safely and confidently beyond what's expected in the CBT.

Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT at the weekend under the expert tuition of Mark. Was nervous about it as I was a complete novice and an older learner. Although I have been driving for 30 years, bikes are a completely different challenge and I welcomed Marks patience in passing on his expertise in a very effective and calm manner. Really enjoyed the sessions and especially getting out on the road under close supervision. Never felt uncomfortable and always an eye on safe riding. Fantastic experience: Great place for my CBT I chose Shireoak because of its reviews. I had both Mark and Nigel instruct me and I must say their knowledge and patience was fantastic. They do all they can to not only teach you how to ride a bike but how to keep yourself safe while doing it. Would definetly recommend shireoak for your CBT.

Fantastic experience: Well I finally did it and passed thanks to the wonderful training and support from Alan and Max at Shireoak Motorcycle Training. I now have my mod 1 and mod 2 certificates after what has been quite a long journey for me. Never having ridden a motorcycle before, being a more ' mature' student and having not completely met with the right 'teaching style' for me at previous training school's, Alan and Max persevered with me where I sense other training schools I tried had felt frustrated and tried to rush me through the process. Initially, Alan's patience was put to the test at times as I struggled to feel relaxed and 'natural' on a motorcycle. However, to his and Max's credit, my confidence and enjoyment of riding a 650cc motorcycle grew, so much so that I passed my mod 1 on the third attempt and passed my mod 2 test today first time! It has been a long dream to get my classic Velocette motorcycle on the road in memory of my late dad who rode them in his youth. All I have to do now is remember the brake and gears are on the opposite sides!!! Thanks again Shireoak for everything and keep up the good work. Ian

Fantastic experience: Very good training school, exceptional. I did all my training with them from CBT (with Mark) up to Mod 1& 2 (with Alan). I've learned so may skills from both of them and I am really grateful. Do not expect an easy ride, they are both very demanding teachers. Fantastic experience: I live in Coventry so it's a bit of trek but it is well worth it in order to receive excellent training and advice. My good friend recommended Shire Oak. He is highly experienced and Shire Oak trained his lovely partner. He knows the team well. I remember my first conversation with Alan which was on the phone. I was tempted to do a crash course because I have driven for 30+ years and felt confident. However, with my friend and Alan's advice I made the right decision and learned over a longer period. Shireoak have guided me through CBT, MOD1 and MOD2. Everyone at Shire Oak is friendly. I've spent a fair bit of time with Graham on the phone who has helped squeeze things in, make them work and has also given me support. For me I am so glad to have invested wisely as it's not just about us - we need to think of our family. Love Alan's direct style which is exactly what I like along with some much appreciated banter. i wholeheartedly recommend Shire Oak :)

Fantastic experience: I was looking to do DAS for Full A license and spoke to almost every local training school. Decided to choose Sheiroak Motorcycle Training School. During the CBT (April 2021), Instructor Mark was very very helpful and professionally guided me through in a very friendly environment. I decided to continue my DAS with them. Paul was my instructor throughout the DAS, very nice and professional chap, focused not only passing through test but to make me a better confident rider. With his help and support I managed to Pass my MOD 1 (in April 2021) and MOD 2 (10th May 2021) in first attempt. I was totally lost when shopping around but read very good reviews for them and found them totally worthy. I would definitely recommend these guys at any stage of training if you looking to be a good confident rider. Yeah, the administrative communication had some lacks and it was bit hard to get in contact with them but if you get on it and chase them through its not a problem.

They’re all very approachable and knowledgeable and having started as a non rider, have made the whole process a very fun journey ! Fantastic experience: I went from complete novice to passing my CBT confidently in 4 days. They offer an additional 2 hour lesson before you take your test to teach the basic fundamentals of riding and this really helped me to develop my skills for test day. On the day of my CBT I had great on the road instruction, the guys pride themselves on developing safe riders. They I can't wait to go back to start learning on the bigger bikes. If you want to pass and feel safe whilst learning this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend these guys enough.. I started my lessons in May of last year in preparation for my CBT. Due to the level of thorough training I received I was totally prepared for my CBT. Now a year later they are continuing to support me in preparation for my Mod 1. I can't fault the service I have received.,but to the staff it's not just a service they provide. It's the constant support you receive to enable you to be the safest, confident and competent rider you can possibly be. I have had positive experiences with everyone. Neil has helped me enormously recently and I find the way he delivers the lessons is just perfect. The right balance of humour and encouragement, and still managing to get the job done. Fantastic experience: A little late in posting... I passed in November 2019! I found Shireoak Motorcycling Training to be excellent. I was trained mostly by Paul, but I found all the instructors to be excellent. Took my CBT and my full licence with Shireoak with a year between them to build up my confidence. Paul is very patient and genuinely wants you to pass as quick as possible, but at the same time wants to see you do it safely. Getting the money off you was never the main objective, the objective was seeing you pass and pass safely! I rode a KTM Duke 125 for a year after passing my CBT. Now I am riding a Kawasaki Z900RS, so a big step up! Tea and biscuits were good, with a slight stray to the cafe next door for a full breakfast! Thanks to you all! Regards Dan

Fantastic experience: If I could give this place more than five stars, I absolutely would! My whole experience with Shireoak and its instructors has been phenomenal. Paul has trained me from the very beginning - seeing me from my CBT, all the way through to the successful completion of my Mod 2. The training is differentiated and tailored to indiduval needs, enabling progression at an appropriate pace for each individual. During my training, I was always made to feel relaxed and at ease, and most importantly confident of my own skills and ability. Paul is an exceptional teacher who is empathetic, patient and has an evident passion for his students' learning. Paul will not just teach you the basics of passing a test - he will teach you lifelong, invaluable skillsets which a safe rider should encompass.

Fantastic experience: Excellent motorcycle training...Paul is absolutely brilliant he is a natural at teaching people to ride a motorcycle properly,so knowledgeable. He is so patient and calm when he teaches you..Got me through my mod 1 and mod 2 1st time and within a couple of months.. Because he trains you to a such a good standard it makes the test seem easier.. I looked around when trying to find an instructor and i am so glad i went to shire.. The reason was the reviews and it soon became apparent why they have such good reviews. The whole team are brilliant only had my lessons with Paul but the rest of the team seemed just as professional and skilled. Even the ladies that work there are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much for them if they can help you(Kellie and Lizzie). Fantastic experience: Being older in years I struggled with my CBT but Paul with his expert tuition and experience helped me through it step by step. If you want to learn to ride a motorcycle, go no where else. The guys at Shireoak MT are professional and experienced to deal with any situation but, also make you feel welcome and comfortable. Fantastic experience: What an experience from start to finish. I started by taking my CBT, passed first time, Theory, passed 1st time, 3 lessons later on a Kawasaki 650 as I was taking direct access , ready for mod 1 , passed 1st time, 3 lessons later and ready for mod 2, again passed 1st time. The staff at Shire oak are spot on and will always advise the best way to go, they even put 2 lessons in 1 as I was capable on a 650 saving me around £65.00. They also worked round a knee operation I had but still kept me on track. The instructors are clearly very experienced and very patient and understanding and always go the extra mile to explain clearly where you are going wrong. I couldn't help notice that these guys have received a 1 star review which surprised me and after reading what was mentioned I could easily relate to what the car driver was saying. During all lessons I had, I never once felt I was not in safe hands, even when Paul moved across me to block car drivers that were trying to squeeze into a gap which would have caused me to have to break hard and reduce my breaking distance and also come between myself and an instructor that I pretty much needed to be close to in order to follow instruction. In my view and the fact that I was actually on that ride the instructor did absolutely nothing wrong , in simple terms Paul could see a potential danger and put himself into a position in order to protect his students and as already mentioned I always felt safe and protected. Some might think that I would write this review just because I am happy to have passed, however as I am a senior operations manager as a profession I know quality within the work place when I see it and believe me if I felt threatened at any time within my learning journey I would definitely say. If you are thinking of taking your bike test I would highly recommend these guys. Spend time wit the office team to work out your plan and then go for it, you will no regret it. Fantastic experience: I remember Shireoak Motorcycles being on the Annex years ago, came here almost 10 years later to find the same great staff running the business. The instructors are very informative and helpful and the lessons are reasonably priced. They are extremely accommodating for those who work shifts which was a real bonus. They also offer additional help when you pass, Bikesense and Advanced if that's you're ticket. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get out on two wheels! I went from never being on a bike (as the rider...) to full direct access licence in just over 3 months!

Fantastic experience: You couldn't find better training than at Shireoak. These guys are brilliant instructors and don't just teach the basics to get you through the test, they actually teach you how to be a good and safe rider after you have passed. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: So far Yvonne and the trainers at Shireoak have been amazing. Very patient and undsrstanding on every level. Three weeks ago I'd never set foot on a motorcycle, now I am confidently riding round on my 125 having passed my CBT with them and I'm now well into the training for my Mod 1, booked for mid May. I was a nervous wreck when doing my CBT and even more so doing my DAS but they are so friendly and make you feel at home when going on lessons... Fantastic experience: Did my CBT as a first time rider on Saturday with great instructors. All staff that I met were friendly and welcoming. They take time to watch your skills and give you advice on how to improve. Will be using for Full licence training Thanks again, especially to Mark and Nigel for getting me through the test.

Fantastic experience: Having never ridden a bike in my life, I was advised how good Shireoak motorcycle training was. And I couldn't be more happier the instruction was clear and I was shown everything I needed to know They even loaned me all the gear and bike Yvonne was great made booking and paying easy Paul gave me a two hour assessment to set me up for my CBT,and the following week Mark took my CBT I felt at ease riding on the road for the first time ever and really enjoyed it All the people who work here are highly knowledgable and made me feel confident Obtaining my CBT at the first attempt got say I am still buzzing and would use shireoak motorcycle training in the future maybe sooner than I thought I would Thanks guys keep up the good work and high standards

Fantastic experience: After failing my Mod 2 elsewhere I was pointed in the direction of Shireaoks and from start too finish was no disappointment. They always endeavoured to work around my hectic work life and very responsive If I needed too make a lesson change. Paul was straight to the point and quick to put flaws right in my riding, molding me into a better and safer rider, not just teaching me the quick way too pass. Thanks again everyone at Shireoaks!

Fantastic experience: Shireoak were fantastic from start to finish and really glad I found them. Having already completed my CBT and theory I was taken out with Paul for a handful of lessons, he has a great approach to teaching, giving constant reminders and information. Having bike experience before Paul had me in for my test after 3 or so lessons and I passed my mod 2 with 0 minors so he really knows how to teach! A pleasure to deal with (and ride!) Fantastic experience: What can I say, having not ridden a bike for over thirty years I thought its time to get back in the saddle. I initially spoke to Yvonne who advised me about the course and legal requirements, her friendliness and professionalism encouraged me to book my course straight away. I only had one trainer, Paul, who took me through CBT, Mod 1, and finally Mod 2. I cannot fault this guy, he teaches you things without you realising (very clever). He makes the training both enjoyable and thorough. Update is I passed all my courses without any minors, and cannot recommend this training centre enough. Not only did they get me through the licence but i made some new friends along the way, just awesome thank you guys. See you soon .

Fantastic experience: Great training , learn how to ride a bike not just how to pass the test !!. Instructors are a laugh making it easy to take note of the information you are being given and react to it so learning is easy.

I used a few different instructors who were all superb adapting each lesson to the students requirements. Fantastic experience: Great group of instructors at shire oak, all very knowledgeable and friendly. Good emphasis on riding techniques and safety too! Was a breeze to get a full license whilst training with them. I managed it doing lessons mainly on Sundays and they will always do their best to squeeze you in weneva you’ve got some spare time for a lesson, very good at getting you booked in for a test as soon as you’re up for it too. Fantastic experience: An Amazing Bunch... A big thank you to my Teacher/ Trainer Paul, what a man. He was even giving me instructions on the way back from the Test Centre, after I passed my MOD 2. :-) A big Thank you to Yvonne and Alan and Mark, who contributed to my training. I'm just so glad that Paul wasn't my Test Examiner, or else he would have failed me!!!! His expectations with all his students is sky high and he demands us all to learn and perform to the highest standards which were seen at the Shireoak Motorcycle Training School followed by all the instructors. They are all so friendly and genuinely want to teach proper skills necessary for safe and enjoyable motorcycle riding. They are all very patient and pay attention to detail, when it comes to Assessments prior to MOD 2 Tests. They meticulously formulate a riding training plan, designed for the individual's strengths, and focus deeply on their weaknesses and keep going over those issues, till they are confident in their students to let go and to ride it out with the examiners. Thank you all. I had a wonderful time with you while it lasted and enjoyed ever minute of riding the beautiful Staffordshire region with my trainer Paul. Fantastic experience: Best around, from the min I arrived to the min I got my licence nothing was to much trouble, very friendly staff and they are not after your money like most places and have your safety at the top of the list Bikes are all in excellent condition and easy to ride. I traveled over 15 miles to get to them and recommend to anyone in the West Midlands. Paul really does know his stuff and what he don’t know about bikes and teaching is not worth knowing. I arrived not been able to ride a bike and 2 months later I have my full licence says it all really keep up the good work and please go and learn with them best in the buisness

Fantastic experience: One word: Exceptional! With a background in RAF fast jet pilot instruction, very rarely do I offer such glowing endorsements. However, it is thoroughly warranted in this case. I trained with Paul at Shireoak and can only offer overwhelmingly positive feedback. Paul's instructional technique and instructional manner were of a standard I've rarely seen. I observed him instruct a range of students ranging from the 'confident' type who needed 'pushing', to those who were a little more 'timid' and needed a different instructional style to coax the best out of them. In every case, it was clear that Paul was 'all over it'! He is clearly a Motorcycle instructor who is at the very pinnacle of his profession. I should also give a very positive mention to the rest of the Shireoak office team, who were always positive, friendly, encouraging and full of humour.
