She’s unbelievably patient, kind, warm and made me a far better driver. Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend SDDA and Helen enough. I was by no means a confident starter when it came to learning to drive, however Helen made starting out such a comfortable and encouraging environment. Helen is nurturing, supportive, and patient - while also pushing you to reach your full driving potential. Despite the stops and starts due to the national lockdown, I have made great progress in my driving and I only have Helen and her ongoing support to thank for that.

Fantastic experience: Helen is absolutely amazing! After a really bad experience prior to coming to SDDA, she was the only one who gave me my confidence behind the wheel again. Very professional, calm, competent, she cares about her students as she wants them to do well. Never forces anyone to do anything they're not comfortable with and never adds any extra pressure on. Always makes sure that you get the whole lesson and she is not cutting you short. All round its just a great experience to be driving with Helen and I'm so grateful that I found her.

Fantastic experience: Since I passed my test in 2017 I have recommended Helen to everyone who so much as mentions doing their driving lessons. She is patient, kind and encouraging. I never once felt "told off" if I made a mistake and I always came away from my lessons with a smile. Absolutely top notch driving instructor who creates the most friendly and relaxed atmosphere in her car. Cannot recommend Helen enough!

Fantastic experience: Helen is the best instructor I could have ever wished for as a beginner learner. She is so patient, kind and makes you feel so at comfortable behind the wheel and I feel so at ease during her lessons as if I’m driving along with someone I’ve known for years. She will never push you to do anything until you feel ready and is always so comforting if you ever get anxious/upset during a lesson or when trying new things. Could not recommend her highly enough, one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met and an incredible driving teacher with tons of experience. Every lesson is so much fun and I’m progressing so well because of her. 10/10.

Fantastic experience: I was really nervous about learning to drive and took quite a while to chose an instructor. Helen was professional from the start and spent time finding out about my work commitments and how she could fit around that before we even booked a lesson. She is a very calm and patient instructor, she made the lessons fun and worked hard to build my confidence without making me feel I was taking too long to get the hang of something. I would highly recommend Helen and Surrey Downs Driving Academy!

Fantastic experience: WHAT A FANTASTIC DRIVING INSTRUCTOR, Following a nasty car accident a few years ago I have struggled with nerves and my confidence hit rock bottom.I never thought I would end up in the drivers seat again learning to drive.Helen is a superb teacher.She is very very patient,nice natured,but remains professional.Each day on the road brings new challenges and although I still have to take things in small steps she fills me with the confidence I need to carry on.She never gets angry or gets impatient, and for the first time i've managed to laugh at my mistakes instead of get upset about it.For me its like having my mum sat next to me and I love it.If anyone needs a lovely,reliable driving instructor then Helen is definitely the Lady to book with. Im soo pleased I re-started my lessons with her.

Fantastic experience: After being let down greatly from my previous instructor who was unreliable and generally quite grumpy, my confidence and trust was torn to shreds (once bitten, twice shy etc...). It was a stroke of luck or perhaps divine intervention that I found Helen at The Surrey Downs Driving Academy. As I rapidly approach my test date, Helen continues to be a dream to learn with. Her warm and friendly attitude has helped reassure me that learning to drive is fun. With a relaxed and chatty, yet professional attitude, Helen provides clear guidance and instructions so you quickly learn to know what to do and when.
