Fantastic experience: I really don't know where to start but I never met a person like Duncan, not only as a instructor but also he is really a good person. Even though I was struggling with my driving skills he is so patient and very encouraging which lead me to pass my driving test If you guys are looking for a best driving instructor I would recommend to go with Duncan and I am sure you will reach you goal successfully ....

Fantastic experience: *First attempt pass, 5 driver faults* If you want a driving instructor who is professional, knowledgeable, supportive and has patience in abundance, you can't go wrong with Duncan at Drive Calderwood. After a horrendous experience the first time I tried to learn to drive over 10 years ago, I approached Duncan with plenty of nervousness, trepidation and a lack of confidence in my ability. For various personal reasons, my learning period was approximately 18 months (60 hrs or so). During lessons, instructions were clear and reasons explained. I felt safe and that I was making progress, at a pace that suited me personally, but was pushed where needed. If I needed to pause because I felt overwhelmed, that was ok. We paused and then continued. It was clear that Duncan was invested in the individual student learning journey. I was as prepared as I could be for my test, as we had completed mock tests previously and run through show me/tell me questions. We had also discussed what happens on the day. On the day itself, we had a chilled drive around Craigshill and then it was up to me to demonstrate what I knew I could do. I passed just over three weeks ago and the fantastic feeling of having that freedom is still settling. I'm incredibly proud of myself for the achievement and also very thankful to had the opportunity to learn with Duncan at Drive Calderwood. If you are thinking of learning to drive, either for the first time or maybe you're coming back to it after a while for whatever reason, I would 100% recommend Duncan at Drive Calderwood to help you with your driving journey.

Fantastic experience: Duncan is an incredible instructor who was highly recommended to me by a friend who also had a great experience with him. He is proffesional and punctual yet also created a friendly atmosphere where I wasn't afraid to ask any questions. Whilst safety was always the main priority, he gave me space to make my own decisions on the road and if something went wrong he always stayed calm and composed, giving me clear guidance and constructive criticism. He made me feel confident in my driving abilities, pushing me just the right amount in every lesson to ensure I was making good progress. On the run up to the test date, he ensured I felt more prepared by doing several mock tests, marking them fairly and giving me extra practice in areas I was more anxious about. Thanks to Duncan's clear teaching style, patience, and genuine care for the success of his pupils I was able to pass my first time with no faults!

Fantastic experience: Duncan is one of the most amazing people I've met. He was not only a driving instructor but was genuinely there for me when I was stuggling. At the beginning I had no hope for driving as my anxiety was out the roof but over the months he helped me so much. He was kind, patient and went the extra mile. Him and my partner worked together to get me a test date I didn't know about it so I didn't have enough time to back out. He had much more confidence in myself than I did and that really helped. Fantastic experience: I passed my test with 2 driver faults on the second attempt. I started lessons in September 2024 and I passed a week and a half ago. Duncan is a really great instructor, I would recommend him to friends and family and for anyone who wants to pass their driving test

Fantastic experience: Every lesson was packed full of practise, he always asked me what I wanted to do and planned the lesson around it. Always felt at ease which a lot of my friends struggled with during their lessons so very happy that I never had to deal with that. always ensured safety came first and if something happened we’d chat about it before continuing. Before my test he ensured we got plenty of practise doing mock tests etc and marked them fairly. I really struggled with anxiety which caused me to fail my test the first time but the next time he made the test day feel like a normal lesson which really helped with anxiety. Overall a really nice guy and really good instructor. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Duncan is a best tutor who made me safe and relaxed during the lessons. He is highly professional and punctual and provides constructive feedback periodically. Completely utilised the 1.5 hours of driving lessons in a profitable way (without any unnecessary chit chats). He was happy to answer the driving questions even during out of hours. He planned each and every lesson in a way to address the areas wherever I lacked confidence. I passed and now got the freedom to drive independently. Fantastic experience: would highly recommend duncan as a driver instructor. As i managed to pass first time with him. he’s very knowledgeable with the rules and regulations about driving on the roads. Any questions i had he answered very clearly and explained in depth about certain manoeuvres i had to do on my test. Overall would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had a bad experience with a previous driving instructor so was very anxious about getting back on the roads again, but Duncan created a relaxed environment and was very encouraging and supportive when it came to my driving. Each week I became more and more confident at driving and I couldn’t have done it without his support. On the lead up to my test he was certain I would pass, and I did indeed pass FIRST time!! Would highly recommend Duncan to anyone, he shows a genuine interest in helping his students and wants to help build confident drivers!

Fantastic experience: I got Duncan's reference from a friend of mine and I am really glad I chose Duncan as my driving instructor. He is the best tutor for anyone who wants to train themselves on a manual car. His encouragement and patience from day 1 made me comfortable and confident. I would recommend him for anyone who struggles driving anxiety. He made me so calm throught our lessons, if he hasn't been such an amazing instructor I wouldn't have cleared mg test in first attempt.

Fantastic experience: Duncan is a great instructor who I highly recommend. During my time learning to drive, I felt I was able to make regular, solid progress and picked things up much quicker than I expected. This is largely down to Duncan’s calm nature and patience as well as his clear and concise teaching style. Duncan was always very encouraging but also realistic and did not shy away from giving constructive criticism when required. Due to this, I was able to pass my test first time with only a couple of minors. In addition to the above, Duncan was always very punctual, and extras such as the TotalDrive app were a great way to track progress. I highly recommend gohello driving.

Fantastic experience: Having failed my test twice about 6 years prior, I found the prospect of getting back behind the wheel a little daunting - a feeling that was further exacerbated by difficulties in finding an instructor at all. Duncan was absolutely brilliant on all fronts, he was able to accommodate my schedule and took care to modify his approach to teaching based on my experience level and tight turnaround to a test date I had previously booked. While he was honest and upfront from the beginning that it might not have been possible to get me test ready in such a short time period, he was also determined to do what he could to push me to get me to the necessary standard. Any criticism or correction given was always fair, constructive, and explained in full. I feel that he judged my personality well and recognised how best to motivate/encourage me whenever I started to get frustrated with myself. I also appreciated that he would consult with me on how I felt our lesson time would be best spent, so that I had a say in the learning process. Thanks to his patient and no nonsense approach - I was able to sit and pass (with only 3 minors!) my test without having to reschedule. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome, but even if I hadn’t been successful I would have continued with Duncan as an instructor regardless. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough!
