1st Gear Driving School

Fantastic experience: Late review as I passed over a year ago but Derek was a very good instructor and I passed first time easily.

Fantastic experience: At 51 years young I passed my test today 1st time with 3 minors and I would like to say a huge thank you to Will Smerdon, at 1st Gear Driving School, I never thought I would get past my nerves those first few lessons, but you pushed me slowly when I needed it and had patience with my mistakes, I can't thank you enough. You're an excellent driving instructor. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is learning with 1st gear. She is really enjoying it with them.

Negative experience: Not for nervous drivers or females. My daughter has been learning to drive with Will. Despite giving her 10s on assessments he kept losing his temper and shouting. He also kept criticising other woman driver's. He then cancelled her lessons saying the dynamic wasn't there going forward. Shocking waste of money. Would not recommend EVER.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my driving test today, had Harriet as my driving instructor. Would recommend her to any one who is wanting to learn to drive quickly, we had amazing lessons, thank you!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant instructor called Noel we went through everything leaving no stone unturned and I passed on my second attempt which wasn’t bad considering how hard it is to pass the test these days.

Fantastic experience: When I first started looking into driving lessons, I walked straight to NA DVLA test center 'cause it was only round then corner and asked about intensive courses. Dan, from first gear happened to be there, approached me and talked me through everything I needed to do. Although lessons did not continue with Dan due to complications, I don't think I could have asked for a better instructor starting out as a learner. Great character and definitely knows what he's doing. Cheers Dan

Fantastic experience: Brilliant! A large family means more than one driving lesson trauma for the brood so what a relief when we finally chose the right tuition and chose a driving School that demonstrated a friendly professionalism that surpassed all previous experiences. Well done First Gear... will definitely be sending the grand children your way soon!

Fantastic experience: When i first called 1st Gear School of Motoring they were very helpful and put me at ease straight away. My lessons were with an instructor called Graham Woodcock and i would recommend him to anyone for driving lessons. I passed 2nd time but that was my fault. A great driving school Graham was always on time and never cancelled any of my lessons. Cheers Graham. See you on the road mate.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended 1st Gear by a friend and I would recommend them too. The lessons went very well and I learnt to drive quickly. The instructor was a good laugh and good at his job. I live in Torquay but I know they have instructors all over Torbay and Exeter. Thanks for reading my review. Mark
