Fantastic experience: Alex is a reliable, experienced and helpful instructor. I came to him with only a few weeks until my driving test and he gave a guide to driving, as well as help me brush up and go beyond with my driving skills which helped me pass with only three minor faults, a good instructor in the Enfield area, would highly recommend.

Positive experience: Helped me pass my driving test first time, Alex is a strict teaching style, but he does teach everything you need to pass your test.

Negative experience: Your worst possible nightmare of a driving instructor, poor delivery of teaching met with patronizing and inappropriate comments - Do not book with him, a cow boy free lance driving instructor with no care or consideration for his students, be warned.

Negative experience: Alex is a very knowledgeable person, but an awful driving instructor. His style of teaching was rude and he didn't make me feel comfortable during the 2 hours I spent with him. He was making unnecessary comments and shouting at me constantly throughout the lesson.

Fantastic experience: Alex (Alexander Brownlee) is a very experienced instructor with true driving and teaching expertise. Alex was a "godsend", very proactive and knowledgeable. He was always punctual and professional. I certainly recommend Alex of the Eye Driving School. I am from Brazil (Vila Velha - Espirito Santo) and can confirm Alex does NOT dislike people from Brazil (and other countries). I read a negative post about xenofobia from a compatriot and want to say Alex is not xenofobic.

Negative experience: Xenophobic instructor. I contacted him and asked about availability for driving lessons. He said just because I'm Brazilian he wouldn't accept me as a student.

Negative experience: I had an assessment lesson with Alex and although he is a very knowledgeable instructor with lots of experience, he was patronising in his teaching style. I found it to be an uncomfortable experience given the inappropriate comment he made about the length of my skirt and the generalising statements he made about female drivers and women in general. I would not recommend, especially to female learners.

Fantastic experience: Alex is a great instructor, very clear methods of how to do things perfectly, especially manoeuvres. He is always on time and available even at short notice and even provides all pupils with a booklet of everything you'll need to remember to pass your test.

Fantastic experience: Well... Where do I start after passing with Alex first time at around 40 hours with him? He is an extremely experienced instructor. He is a qualified bus driver van driver etc you name it he can drive and teach you how to monouver everything! I had two instructors before him. Both one hour lessons that I didn't like the vibe of. One too soft. The other absolutely crazy shouting down my ear for no reason.. ALEX, in many ways, is the middle... He does shout. He does get angry. But that's becuase he is incredibly knowledgeable and knows how correct driving aught to be. THERE WAS NEVER A QUESTION THAT HE COULDN'T ANSWER AND EXPLAIN TO ME PATIENTLY PAYING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE INDIVIDUALS LEARNING ABILITIES. You have to trust him full heartedly and he will pass you first time! He is incredibly methodological in that his methods of monouvers are thorough. AFTER 10 hours I never got a monouver wrong!!! Except for parallel parking becuase I hated it and was easily confused. There isn't a stone left unturned with him he will build you up to make sure you are perfectly safe and that you will not make a mistake in the test. Just when you thought you got the hang of driving and fixed what he has told you hel move you on to fixing more things about your driving... Youl never go into a test without being fully assessed of your driving abilities and not knowing where you can improve. Stubborn... but amazingly brilliant. Very funny aswel all in all Rather old Fashioned. BUT JUST WHAT YOU NEED. THERE IS REALLY NO SHORTCUT TO LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE, I HAD TO LEARN THE HARD WAY. THANKS AGAIN ALEX

Fantastic experience: Alex is a very reliable, experienced and accommodating instructor. He is also very patient and shouts at you only when he teaches emergency stop :) highly recommended!
