Fantastic experience: I suffer from quite bad anxiety and my instructor Steven helped me overcome it and feel comfortable driving which allowed me to pass. Very friendly and outgoing 100% recommend

Positive experience: Disappointing experience. I first emailed in May to get my daughter’s name on the waiting list for lessons. Followed up again in July and was told they’d know more "in a week or so." I waited another two weeks, thinking they'd get back to me, but they didnt, so I emailed again, only to be told they can’t accommodate her at all, as she wanted a female instructor because she was extremely nervous. That’s months wasted when she could’ve been on another instructor’s list.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend these guys helped me and my step daughter get through our tests. Carnt thank dave and steph for everything they done for me and kacey. I wil be recommending them to everyone who asks

Fantastic experience: The most amazing driving school around. I’ve been having weekly driving lessons with Dave since before Christmas. From my first lesson, Dave has always been very friendly and understanding. He made sure I was comfortable in the car, explained everything about the car and supported me with anything I needed. When revising for my theory, Dave was always there to support me and ensure I was confident going into the exam. He was really reassuring and went over practise questions with me leading up to my exam. He made me aware of all the roads on test routes and we revised test routes every week. I completed multiple mock driving tests to ensure i knew what to expect and what I could improve on leading up to my test. After every lesson Dave would ask if I had any questions or worries which he would cover/answer before the end of the lesson. Dave was really helpful with specific stuff I struggled on, he would take time to explain in detail and make sure I felt more confident before the end of the session. I’ll deffo miss hearing about Dave’s theory’s, weird facts, tree knowledge and SINGING . Never change Dave . I couldn’t have done it without you. Sorry for hearing me complain about everything every lesson dave . I highly recommend Optimus drive. The team are all very friendly and supportive, not just of their own students, other instructors too! Thank you so much to Dave and all of Optimus drive for helping me pass my test !

Fantastic experience: Fantastic team, great communication from Dave and Stephanie. They went above and beyond. I explained our child (Robyn) had ASD and would be quiet at first but Dave was fantastic and patient. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: This is the Driving School you need. My daughter is ASD and has other issues and non of them were any issue for Dave or Steph. Their support and understanding was second to non and bent over backwards to help her through her test. Communication was fantastic if any issues arrived which was rare, and their constant, encouraging positive attitude with nervous drivers who have low self esteem, was outstanding. I cannot thank Optimus Drive enough.

Fantastic experience: If anyone is thinking of driving lessons, then this is the school for you.. the instructors are not just excellent teachers but such amazing people. Steph was my instructor and not only was she so patient but so genuine and caring.. I can not thank Optimus drive enough! 10/10 rating… Get those lessons booked now for an amazing experience!!

Fantastic experience: What can I say about this Amazing driving school I'm a 56 year old lady who would never thought would pass her test but Stephanie Longstaff gave me the confidence and had every faith in me and always encouraged me for someone that couldn even start a car she has done an amazing job with me lol and couldn't be more grateful and a big shout to her husband Dave as well yous are a brilliant team I will miss yous xxx

Fantastic experience: Optimus Drive, the clue really is in the name. I've been on the long road to passing due to several hurdles. After back surgery last year I could no longer learn in a manual (just one of the many hurdles lol) so I looked for Auto instructors and Optimus came highly recommended. I am SO pleased they did because I don't think i could have found better. Steph is the warmest, genuine (yet still very professional) most patient lady you could ever meet. I met her lovely partner (in crime) Dave too who kindly covered my lesson when Steph was called away for a family emergency. Despite all the hurdles Steph stuck by me ( they both did), encouraging me all the way. We got there in the end!!! Wow what a journey and I'm blessed to have met such amazing people along the way. Your help and support, encouragement and advice really will change my life and for that i am eternally grateful. Would I recommend Optimus Drive to everyone? Hell yeah I would! Fantastic experience: just passed my test with dave, what a legend. it did take me a few times to pass eventually, but the main thing which made me not give up was dave himself - he never gave up on me to keep me going ever. the amount of patience dave had with me was undescribable and i honestly couldn't have been more grateful. he always made sure I had lessons booked in and even slotted me on a saturday to make sure i had the lesson - he always did anything he could to make sure i never gave up. both him and stephanie was the best people to get my throughout this, and i couldn't have been more grateful to have been part of learning with these. i feel like i had honestly found the best instructors ever, and couldn't have wished for anyone better - i really am going to miss learning to drive. every lesson dave made sure that i was okay, and that i was safe to come out of the lesson feeling proud of myself and happy of what i've just completed in that lesson - and this happened every single one without a doubt, big smiles every lesson!! these are the best instructors around, there is literal no better - if you're thinking of learning to drive, go for Optimus Drive!! i have never felt more safer and happy having my lessons, they were and i quote "the highlight of my week"!! regarding price too, they are worth every penny of what you pay - they always make sure your hour or 2 hours are fully filled and got your money worth - they are so so worth it!!

His teaching style and friendliness really helps keep you relaxed when behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: After having a negative experience with another instructor a few years ago, my confidence was so low and I thought I'd never be able to pass my test. But I started lessons with Dave towards the end of last year, and from the get go he encouraged me to push myself and helped me build my confidence, and was always completely calm and understanding with me. I couldn't recommend him more as an instructor :)

Fantastic experience: After having a bad experience with my first driving instructor I found Optimus drive, they have an amazing booking app system and Steph (my driving instructor) was the most down to earth person ever, she made me feel at ease when taking my lesson and boosted my confidence, I don’t think I would have ever passed if I didn’t have Steph by my side so massive thank you to her, would 100% recommend this driving school to anybody! Fantastic experience: Passed my test with Optimus Drive. Steven, my instructor is the best. He is ever so encouraging, honest and works with you to create an individual plan. Steph is like the master planner. She helped organize my lessons with Steven and was able to get me a date for the practical driving test. You guys are truly the best and highly recommended.

Dave is super supportive, and patience instructor. Got me through me test first time. Made sure I went into my test with all the knowledge I needed. Fantastic experience: Dave from Optimus Drive helped me after years of putting off doing my test. He was clear and friendly in his communication and helped me get rid of a lot of test failing habits that I had, while never making me feel silly or nervous. After doing my lessons with Optimus Drive I was confident enough to take a test on the other side of the country, at short notice and pass with no driver faults. Thanks again Dave! If I could give higher than 5* I would!

Fantastic experience: Would recommend optimus drive school of motoring to anyone I possibly could. Such high level of professionalism. Relaxed, friendly and motivational tuition. On time and never dropped off earlier than should be. If test ready they help with mock tests, learning test routes and will attend/take you to centre on day of test. Very reasonable price and one of the cheaper schools in consett.
