Fantastic experience: I am so over the moon to have passed my driving test yesterday! I came to Nottingham to start university having done a decent number of driving lessons in my home city. I am based in Sutton Bonington because of my course, and it was a nightmare trying to find an instructor that was available and would come out anywhere near SB. Jim came to the rescue and I started having lessons with him around August. He is so patient and calm, mixing genuine praise and encouragement with kindly delivered constructive feedback. Each week we picked something to work on and I quickly felt myself become really confident with little details I had struggled for weeks to grasp back home. The best thing about his teaching is that if I faced a lesson that I really struggled with, for example one week I struggled with the really windy, narrow and congested roads with lots of pedestrian crossings around West Bridgeford, he would take me back there the next week and we’d work on what I found difficult again and again until I felt super super comfortable and confident about it. Although it was daunting to have to face something that I found scary, getting the chance to correct what I had done wrong and get lots of experience with Jim in the car means I am feeling all the better about driving on my own now. Jim is really fantastic. I really felt he was rooting for me the whole time. He is very genuine, down to earth cared about how I was doing every week and I looked forward to every lesson. Thank you Jim!!!

Fantastic experience: Jim is a true master of his craft. He is professional, patient, and personable. I felt incredibly safe and respected under his instruction. His explanations are clear, he is excellent at diagnosing areas of improvement, and he gives you the confidence to do better. I particularly appreciated his use of technology. He uses a mobile app to help you keep track of your progress, and he uses a tablet during lessons to help explain practical driving theory. He also always gets the basics right: he is punctual, he maintains his car in good condition, and he keeps to his diary schedule. I’m glad that I learnt to drive with Jim. I passed my test first time. Notts Driving School is worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Jim as a driving instructor to anyone! I had previously had lessons with another instructor and didn't enjoy my learning experience and decided to try again a few years later. I found Jim online and he replied promptly. He is very organised and fit me in every week for a two hour lesson. I looked forward to my driving lessons and I felt that each week I made improvements. Jim is very friendly and focusses on the positives and never makes you feel bad for your mistakes which really helped me with my confidence over time. He has some really good methods to help you to remember the manoeuvres too which I have since taught other people I know! In conclusion, choose Jim!

Negative experience: Avoid, lacks professionalism and commitment. We spent over £2k on lessons, our son failed his second test and we literally never heard from Jim again.

Fantastic experience: Jim is an outstanding driving instructor and I'm very grateful to have found him and Notts Driving School through a friend. He's incredibly patient and creates a learning environment which is perfect for learner drivers. I left my previous instructor for Jim, who has played a crucial role in helping me pass my practical test in a short space of time. Jim is unbelievably patient and very constructive with his feedback rather than getting agitated or being aggressive. Rather than telling you off for a mistake, he let's you know what you did right and then tells you exactly where you went wrong, explaining it in detail. He has a front and rear view camera installed in his car that is constantly recording, which makes learning from your mistakes through watching the footage so much easier. Furthermore, Jim goes above and beyond to make sure you are ready for the road post-passing your practical test. I remember we went on a drive to Newark, where I learned how to use the dual carriageway, even though it is something that isn't assessed on the test. That goes to show how committed he is to ensuring you're a good driver, beyond the minimum of getting you ready for passing the practical test. I honestly couldn't recommend Jim enough. Top class guy and an amazing instructor that has helped me improve so much within the 3-4 months I've been taking lessons with him.

Fantastic experience: Jim has been a fantastic driving instructor from start to finish, even though the coronavirus pandemic and has been taking all methods to make sure that I have had a safe learning experience in his car. His teaching is of a very high standard and ensured to work with what I needed in order to be able to pass my driving test the first time. I would highly recommend Jim to anybody who's looking to learn to drive manual in the Nottingham city area.

Fantastic experience: Notts Driving School was great from the get go. As soon as I tried to get in contact with them, they got back to me the next day and took me on immediately. I had Brian as an instructor who was patient and kind but did let me get away with being inattentive or dangerous. He ran me through everything I needed to know and let me take the time to learn properly everything I needed to know. We moved up and up building up my confidence and learning at a rate I felt challenging but I was happy with. He was vey clear on what he wanted me to be and to do. He also reminded me that the skills I was learning weren’t just to pass the test but they where to make me a safe driver on the road. Over all A++ and a pass first time!
