Fantastic experience: Ian is the best instructor around! I have had two children pass first time with him, both with clean sheets!! My 3rd child has just started lessons with him and I would not use anyone else! Ian is very patient and calm and puts the learner at ease straight away. Most importantly he produces confident, safe drivers, thoroughly equipped to deal with today's busy roads. Thank you so much Ian, you really are the best in the business!!
Aww thank you Julianne, I’ve really enjoyed teaching Ruby and Sam to drive . At least it shows they both know how to drive well and confidently. They can see and understand other drivers faults and know how to respond to the situations effortlessly.

It didn’t take long for you to get stride of things , you have a good head on your shoulders for driving Charlie, I’ve absolutely enjoyed each and every one. Always listened to everything I said , biased with your mum so she knew your weaknesses . This all went towards your splendid pass you must be very proud of . Zero faults on your driving test , even the examiner said it was a pleasure to ride alongside you .

Fantastic experience: Excellent and outstanding diving instructors i recommend to everybody always have done. I passed my test 1st time with Jay but started with Ian both teach exactly the same very patient and calm even if i paniced. Will tell you what you need more practice on and wont go over the same thing if you are good at it. Great with more nervous people too x

Fantastic experience: 3 years 4 months ago I passed my test with Prima, I had 2 instructors before this for 10 years prior.. I would recommend these all day long. First time pass with 3 minors. Best company to be with for your driving lessons. So easy to get on with the instructors aswell. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Passed 1st time!! With only 2 minor faults. Ian was very calm and patient during every lesson. He talked me through everything thoroughly during each lesson which helped me to understand quicker and learn quicker. Fantastic driving school *****

Fantastic experience: Much recommended!! I had Ian as my instructor. Every lesson he was extremely patient as i was such a nervous driver. We always had a laugh which made every lesson enjoyable. I passed first time with only a few minors. I honestly couldn’t recommend a better place to do driving lessons. I felt so at ease and feel so confident in my driving. Ian use to highlight on areas that needed a slight improvement and talked me through each stage in which we would go over them and practice them until it was perfect. Once again thankyou so much for all your help!

Fantastic experience: *⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Prima Driving School is the best!** If you’re looking for the Yoda of driving instructors, look no further than Ian from Prima Driving School! All three members of my family have managed to snag their UK driving licenses under Ian’s expert guidance. I mean, seriously, almost half our street has learned to drive (and passed) thanks to Ian! But here's the kicker: if Ian can get my wife to pass her test, he can literally get anyone through! Prima Driving School is the best choice for anyone seeking a laugh and an exceptional driving education. Ian’s the real MVP on our road.

It’s been a fantastic experience Kyle , every lesson you’ve worked hard to try and achieve a goal set . Always with a great atmosphere within the car we’ve systematically gone through the syllabus and ticked off the boxes. Look at what you’ve achieved a clean sheet ! Negative experience: My daughter had a terrible experience with the instructor Ian . She made an error ( nothing serious ) during a lesson and he screamed at her for it and even swore at her . She was crying that much she asked to pull over and he said no . Eventually when he let her exit the car I had To go and find her crying at the side of the road . I was disgusted and Ian just kept telling me she needs to listen to corrections more . He was rude , unprofessional and behaved in a manner that should have seen some sort of disciplinary action . Response to Ian’s message below - The sheer unprofessionalism of your response speaks volumes . You are referring to my daughter who was legally still a child when she was in your care . You were paid for a task and that was to teach . Not all children learn the same and as a person in trust you should be adaptable. You should not belittle or slander children on line this is disgraceful. You did so the things above and a simple appology would have been sufficient. I found my daughter ( a child can I state again ) on the side of a road sobbing during on of your lesson. This is not acceptable regardless of her level of learning or understanding. Can I state that just a few weeks later following a change of instructor she passed her driving test with ease ?
I had tried every technique possible under the umbrella of instruction of possible driving tuition available, your daughter couldn’t communicate in any way at all from the very first lesson to the last . On the very last lesson your daughter was given the instruction to make a right turn 3rd exit at the next roundabout. She approached it as per normal then emerged and decided to steer the car to the 1st exit left with a heavy goods vehicle already in the left lane emerging at the same time . I had to then steer the car once realising your daughter was going in the wrong direction into the side of the lorry it was a close call! I ruptured a tendon in my right hand moving the wheel across to the right . . In all the lessons I found your daughter to be dismissive of instructions and rolled her eyes on many occasions when asked to park on the left after making an error in her driving. When asked on any occasions to explain how she could improve her performance I’d get a wall of silence .All other pupils explain what they should have done and shows a knowledge of the candidates understanding , your daughter I found to be rude and disrespectful rolling her eyes up in her head . I found you her mum oppressive dismissive and arrogant. . It’s a totally different story when it comes to other candidates. You’re the odd one out !! I wonder why that is ?
Fantastic experience: My daughter Emily passed her test first time with Ian after 5 months of weekly two hour lessons. Ian is a very friendly patient instructor who Emily thoroughly enjoyed learning with.

It shined out on the driving test his knowledge of how to treat each challenge that came toward him with a descriptive overview of the rules . Negative experience: Doesn’t deserve the 1 star. Terrible instructor, thank god I’m an advanced driver & instructor or the would have been a big accident in Risley today. Neither the instructor or student were observing and accessing the conditions ahead. Do your kids a favour and look elsewhere
Considering you were out of your car in you open hatch with your drivers door wide open you were considered a parked car ! My learner not myself so your wrong in your analysis saw you as an obstruction saw to overtake you but then you ran back to your drivers door after slamming your boot and became a monster trying to hit my learning vehicle frightening my learner driver into braking and stopping then you moved off hailing abuse and obscenities out of your open window in a monstrous manner. After my pupil composed themselves and managed to move away you’d reached a bus stop and exited your car and ran out into the road to hit my learner car for no reason other than rage .hurling abuse and threatening us . Not a nice way to be is it ? You should be ashamed of your behaviour and attitude toward learner drivers. Just because he was going to overtake a stationary vehicle with its driver not in the car . You looked broken down.
Fantastic experience: My daughter Niamh had Ian as her instructor. Where do I start? From the minute Niamh began her first couple of lessons I knew we'd chosen well. Ian would message me with advice for Niamh after a lesson if she'd found anything particularly tricky. When she got her own car, he took her out to see how she drove that then called myself with some pointers in order for me to help her too. Ian was always on time, fit her lessons around college times & made Niamh feel at ease (she was extremely nervous.) The night before her test Niamh had a wobble, Ian kindly called her (after a quick txt from myself) & talked her through a few things. Niamh passed 1st time & all that was down to Ian, he certainly knows his job inside out. Niamh talked so much after each weekly lesson not only about what she'd learnt from Ian that day but also about the conversations they'd had which again put Niamh at ease. Would highly recommend Ian to anyone wishing to learn to drive. Thanks again Ian from Niamh & Ange

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! I took more lessons than what "perceived" as average, I know I am nervous. My instructor Ahmed has always made me feel welcome and gone to great lengths to explain everything down to the most minute details rather than just saying "you do this cos this is how its done..." I passed my second time, this was only down to making daft mistakes having let me nerves getting the better of me - Ahmed took time to address everything I was unsure of after my first attempt and Voilah! I am now a happy owner of a UK licence :D I don't know anyone from the top of my head, but if ever learning to drive comes up in conversation I will recommend Prima without a second thought:) Thank you!!

Ian was great at fitting in lessons around her college and work commitments, in the last two weeks on the run up to her test he has found extra lessons for her and as a result she passed first time. Fantastic experience: I had Ian as my instructor and I couldn’t of asked for anyone better! I have bad anxiety but Ian was so patient with me all the way through my driving learning journey. If you’re worried about a particular route he will take the time to incorporate that route more into your lessons to help build your confidence up. Ian is big on making sure you get value for the money that you’re spending. He won’t encourage you to go for your test until he’s 100% sure that you’re ready ensuring you aren’t paying to sit the test over and over again. Alongside his many years of teaching, Ian has a good knowledge of helpful apps to further your learning of the rules of the road and the Highway Code. If you’re unsure of something on your lesson, not only will he keep practicing that area until you’re confident but he also makes some videos that you can look through outside of your lessons to help you. Will forever recommend Ian, there really is no one better!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend prima to anyone looking to drive. Ian is extremely knowledgeable, very easy to talk to and very informative. I was very nervous at first but Ian rapidly brought me out of my shell and ensured I was confident behind the wheel. Would recommend to anyone looking on how to drive!!

Fantastic experience: Passed first time with no minors, Ian was top draw, couldn’t of asked for a better instructor, he made my lessons really enjoyable to the point I actually enjoyed going on my driving lesson, which I know a lot of people find hard, Your guaranteed to have a laugh every time you step in that car he’s also very professional and will make sure you’ve covered everything to give you the best chance on your test, he covers all the different test routes and also puts you in challenging driving situations which I found really helped come my test as I was prepared for anything! Negative experience: Very time wasting and unprofessional way towards teaching, getting more personal by asking lots of questions and talking more than practically teaching.. I spent £1.5k and didn’t even take me to the test route. Rude instructor
I have investigated your allegation of time wasting and it’s come to light that no matter what your instructor said about consistency of using the routine mirrors signal position speed (brake gear) look. You had different ideas of driving without it showing no consistency in you construction of approaching different types of junctions. This is the recommended and approved method set down by the government agency the DVSA the body of which you will be examined. He said you didn’t try hard to comply with this . And basically spat your dummy out because you demand you go for test . It’s not up to you if you go for test it’s our responsibility to ensure that the pupil examiner and car are safe on the road and it’s your responsibility to be at a standard required, not to make up excuses for your failings . I’m very sure the public would like it if you were a safe driver ! It’s not a rite to drive it’s earned and it’s a major responsibility. Your instructor has more than one pass each week every week consistently throughout each year . I’ve taught for 34 year and have a high grade I’ve had 56 passes in 35 weeks I too come across people that struggle to learn and yes many questions are asked so we can ascertain your knowledge and place a fuller understanding into your knowledge. I think we have all heard the saying .” You can walk a horse to water but you can’t make them drink “. The problem is yours failing to listen and do . Your instructor has said that your not ready for a driving test, you haven’t reached the standard required. You’ve only put this poor review on here because your angry at being told that you need to comply with his teaching and you choose not to . That is your foolishness.
