Fantastic experience: I passed first time on class one thanks to Merlin. I had an amazing instructor called Paul who taught me everything I needed to know and a few extra tips. He’s good because he actually listens and tries to explain things in a way to make you understand what’s needed to be understood. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Merlin. Karen Nicholas my HGV Class 1 trainer was the best trainer I could have hoped for. A badass, handbag swinging, no nonsense, good humoured, grandmother with a background in education, a steady reassuring tone and over a decade of practical HGV driving experience. She really knows her subject and her pedagogy is on point. She steadily builds your confidence in the driving seat, rapidly identifies your weak spots and bad habits and scaffolds so you can iron them all out. She never shouts (unlike other instructors out there), and knows how to push you to perform at your best. She really cares and works hard to make sure you pass. As someone who has worked in education I can hand on heart say she is a gem. Keri Yates worked tirelessly to help set me up with my dates for all my training and exams and was always there to talk to along the way, in the good and the bad times. Considering how much pressure I imagine she is under, she does an absolutely blinding job. It really felt like she cared about my journey and she was there celebrating every milestone with me over the phone. Thank you Keri. I would also thank Zoe Chinnick who was there booking all my exams in liaise with Keri. A big thank you also to Chris Joyce, and Neil Perry from Merlin for conducting my 3A and my Mod 4 exams respectively and to Colin Whitworth for training me in prep for my Mod 4. Lastly a big thanks to Richard Crabb in recruitment for scoring me a job at the end of it all. I was one of the lucky ones who came across from Systems Group for the government Bootcamp and can’t thank Merlin enough for helping me secure my qualification. It couldn’t have all come at a better time. Thank you Merlin. ✨

Negative experience: Class 1 waste time and money . 1 Year full course . No support from administration. No check documents for a Exam .

A big thanks to instructor Andy Pickle for the help specially on the 3a exam. All Instructors and examiners at Merlin Academy are very professional, experienced and helpful. Fantastic experience: As an apprentice of some age, I did my C+E Mod 3A and Mod 3B with Merlin academy. My instructor was Andy "Pickle" Hayward. Andy was probably one of the most patient yet thorough trainers I have ever had. He tirelessly put me through my paces even though the area was new to him. I failed my first attempt at Mod 3A, but that was my own doing as I froze half way through. But the next day and a couple of phone calls later I passed it. 4 days later I passed the Mod 3B. Merlin Academy and Pickle in particular, a massive thank you. I would recommend them any time.

Fantastic experience: Currently on the HGV C1 Driver Apprenticeship Scheme and I must admit on a personal aspect I have learnt hell of a lot and without a doubt I am going to learn more; from having no knowledge regarding HGVs other than the pure passion of driving one to now understanding driving time directives to full vehicle checks! I recently passed the C1+E test coming straight from a B License which was a challenge but with the clear guidance and training I received so far I am nothing but grateful. Massive thanks to Driver trainer Andy aka Pickle and Sir Chris my current tutor plus extending it to the rest of the Merlin Team Coming on this apprenticeship is the best thing I have done, at times challenging but I am looking forward to see the path it paves for me - Pure Excitement!

Negative experience: Not recommend at all . I have paid for 24 hours training. First 12h it was driving local included training to get you ready for the 3a test( reversing into the bay). The instructor don't give me any tips when you should turn the wheel to try go into to bay when other driving academy provide more help ,the only instruction I had is saying turn just about now . When I was asking him what is mean he couldn't give the answer. Through all course I had 3 different instructors all have been said different things . After I pass 3a test learning from YouTube how to do it, I have just around 6 hours in city where was my practical test was (Peterborough), because is take one hour to get to Peterborough and one hour to go back . Today I don't pass my test coz the instructor get me confused , he said on the roundabout you don't have to use indicator when you turning left or straight . After the test I had asking about this and he said he don't say any thing like that( but that was another driver seat next to me and he confirmed that ) parently he mention the mini roundabout . The second serious I had we got two lanes , one is straight and another one is I turn right , before the test he told me I need be on the straight line to turn right coz the trailer can hit the car and this was another serious . The company have big mass in office , the don't answer for email . Is take them to book retest around 7 weeks which is not acceptable . So if you looking to waste your time and the money go for it . Good luck

Positive experience: Just completed my five days of DCPC course ONLINE Very informative and enjoyable would like to say this was perfect to do from home and a well run course. Perfect interaction and well put together . First time I’ve done this online ad by far it out ways being done in the classroom Thank you to everyone involved in setting this up
