Fantastic experience: Martin was patient and thorough in how he teaches going into lots of detail on each part, especially when I had a question. At the start of a lesson he would ask if there was anything specific I felt like I needed to focus on that week and incorporate it into the drive. On test day he reassured me when I started to get anxious, which then helped to to stay calm and pass first time!

Fantastic experience: From having not much confidence when I first started driving with Martin he has helped me to become more confident and he has the best patience, and he run though it again, again and again till you feel confident. He has taught me so much and I am very grateful for each lesson I had...he has helped to pass my driving test. Thanks so much :)

Fantastic experience: Martin is a brilliant instructor, had 2 or so years of lessons with him. His ways of teaching are fabulous and he shows patience. Was always very calm and really helped to break things down if I wasn't quite grasping something. With his knowledge and great skill as an instructor I passed first time. :)

Fantastic experience: I had stroke June 2022 late last year I was thinking about driving again(with the doctors say so). I contacted Martin Ashford for some refresher lessons. He is so calm and his knowledge of the roads is remarkable. He made me feel at ease getting used to the hand controls and left foot accelerator. I would recommend Martin to anybody that has a disability because he really listens and he wants the best for you.

Fantastic experience: My husband had a stroke a year ago. He had to do a driving assessment to resume driving and unfortunately failed it. Afterwards we found Martin and arranged some lessons with him. He was very empathetic and his philosophy was to assist in becoming independent again. He was calm, kind, reassuring and reliable. My husband passed his test today after the lessons with Martin. We would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: After failing my manual driving test around 8-9 years ago, I was quite apprehensive to start lessons again, but I decided to try automatic instead. I couldn’t recommend Martin enough! He was very calm and patient, gave clear instructions and explained things in different ways, and used different approaches until I fully understood. I ended up passing my automatic driving test first time with Martin with only 1 fault. If you're looking for automatic driving lessons, I definitely suggest going to Martin!

Fantastic experience: Had a very good experience with Martin, he is knowledgeable and competent driving instructor, giving you clear instructions and does not get frustrated if you ask the same questions all the time, I did about 20-30 hours with him until I felt confident that I will pass, and surly enough passed from first attempt

Fantastic experience: Martin is an an amazing instructor - He is kind, patient and very supportive. He has a friendly disposition and fantastic temperament. I enjoyed every one of the lessons we had together and he helped me build my confidence exponentially. I had previous driving experience as I am a US license holder so we worked through polishing up general driving, starting afresh with my manoeuvres, and mastering my biggest fear...roundabouts! I am so thankful that Martin found time in his schedule to help me learn and to achieve my pass this morning with only 2 minors! He had faith in me when I had very little in myself. Fantastic experience: Martin is an absolutely amazing instructor. He is a very kind, supportive and patient instructor. He has got amazing teaching methods and is happy to explain things in as many different ways as you need, since everyone learns in different ways. I am so glad that I chose Martin as my instructor, as I would not have passed my test without his teaching and reassurance. I failed the first time, due to nerves, but Martin soon had me feeling a lot more confident and he kept assuring me that I could do it, and I was able to pass with only 1 minor. Fantastic experience: Martin was recommended to me by my now Wife who also passed with him. Martin was a great instructor who was very patient with me transitioning from Auto to a Manual car. He Tailors lessons to your needs but happy to pick what is best for you if required. Very patient and supportive and open to any questions when needed. Highly recommended. I passed today on my first attempt at the practical test.

Martin is highly professional, but also very friendly, and put me at ease from my first lesson with him. Fantastic experience: Martin was the perfect instructor for me. He took it at a pace I was comfortable with, was always courteous, and pushed me to pass first time with no faults. Working full time wasn't an issue either as Martin works into the evening and on weekends.
