Fantastic experience: I started lessons with Matt last July after leaving my previous instructor, who had a habit of encouraging me to book my test, then pulling the rug out from under me a couple of weeks before it. Not just frustrating… it was a total confidence killer. I felt stuck in a cycle of false hope and self-doubt. Then came Matt. Calm, patient, no drama, no games. From the start, he made me feel like I had a clean slate. He pushed my test date back until he knew I was fully ready, and to be honest, he was more sure of me than I was. He kept that belief in me going right through to the day of my test. And the result? I passed first time with him. Just two minors. Still can’t quite believe it. If you want an instructor who genuinely knows what they’re doing, builds your confidence properly, and somehow makes lessons feel less like torture and more like actual progress, Matt is your guy. Fantastic experience: I had a few lessons with Matt as I passed my test years ago but was nervous about driving on motorways. Matt was great and really helped me to gain confidence. He was very patient and tried to understand where the lack of confidence/nervousness came from so that he could try to fix the route of the problem. He was very patient and explained things really well. I did my first solo drive on a motorway today and felt calm, something I thought might never happen!

Fantastic experience: Matt is an excellent instructor. I was really nervous when I first started learning, it had been about 17 years since I’d last had a driving lesson, but Matt put me at ease straight away. He is very good at reading people, knowing and understanding where I was at in my process, being very patient and encouraging me to push through my nerves and believe in myself. He’s also a lot of fun to be around and has great banter :) Matt helped me pass first time and for that I’ll always be grateful. I would 100% recommend Matt to anyone. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: Good luck finding a better instructor than Matt! He’s incredibly calm, patient and easy to talk to which made me feel very at ease whilst driving, he allowed me to learn at my own pace never pushing me beyond what I was comfortable with. Whenever I made a mistake he made sure we talked about what went wrong but also let me know what I was doing right! Matt not only taught me to be a safe and calm driver but also a confident one he is an incredibly encouraging and positive person! I cannot recommend him enough especially to people who are nervous about driving. Thank you so much Matt!

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t ask for a better instructor. Not only incredibly knowledgeable with driving, but very knowledgable in how we think and learn. Make sure you are ready before putting you in for a test. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Negative experience: A couple months ago I enquired about driving lessons and I was told It would be around 1-2 months and I would be added to a waiting list. 2 months later I messaged them to for an update on how long I would still have to wait and I was told that he won’t be able to give me lessons due to my area not fitting with his other learners and that I should look for another instructor. He never mentioned this originally when I gave him my postcode. AVOID THIS PLACE ABSOLUTE TIME WASTERS!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I passed first time with 2 driving faults after learning with Matt for 9 months. He is a very patient and supportive instructor. He teaches you how to drive well and not just pass your test. I would definitely recommend him especially if you’re nervous about learning to drive.

Fantastic experience: Amazing instructor, I came to Matt with only 6 weeks to pass my test before having to go to uni, and he not only got me to the point where I was able to pass my test with no faults but was also looking 4 times a day to get me a cancellation in time.

Fantastic experience: Matt is a great instructor who is very thorough and has a really good approach to teaching people how to drive. I have had a few instructors before who have only ever taken me on the same set of test routes, however Matt made sure that we went all over, via different roads and in different conditions, into busy cities and tiny villages. This meant that by the time I passed, I was confident and am able to drive everywhere. If you are an anxious driver, Matt is also excellent at putting you at ease and finding the source of the problem. His approach is not just about teaching the technical side of driving, but also about working through the mental side which can cause so many issues for anxious learners. Overall, I'd recommend Matt 100%, particularly if you are scared of learning to drive, or if you feel that you are not receiving quality lessons with your current instructor/training school. Fantastic experience: Matt has been an amazing instructor, he has been outstanding from day one giving me the right feedback on how to improve my driving and knowledge on every lesson we went on. Matt is the most approachable person, he is also laid back but has a firm approach to teaching and he is also not pushy. On the day I had my test I had no nerves and this was down to the fab teaching method from Matt and this allowed me to pass first time.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't recommend Matt more, he made sure that i knew exactly what i was doing and prepared me for even the hardest test routes just to make sure. He never made me feel stressed out and helped me to calm my nerves meaning i was nothing but ready for my test

Fantastic experience: Matt has been fantastic since day 1 to the day I passed my test, he is super patient, friendly and so easy to get along with. Matt isn’t a pushy regimented instructor, he has a laid back but firm approach to teaching. My confidence on day 1 was next to none but thanks to Matt it has grown considerably helping me to pass my test first time.

Fantastic experience: We found Matt through a recommendation from another instructor that was full at the time. We were looking for an instructor for our son who needed someone patient, friendly, genuine and understanding of his needs being incredibly anxious. So glad we contacted Matt who was more than happy to come round and meet him and us ahead of his first lesson. Some of his anxieties were eased straight away after a chat and a cuppa. Matt has made our son feel less anxious not only about the huge challenge of learning to drive but also sitting in a car with who was a new person but now a year later has become a friend. Matt and my son have both worked hard week by week to achieve small goals enabling him to become a confident driver who passed passed first time. If you are lucky enough to get a driving slot with Matt you know are in good reliable hands, his dedication is second to none and you have the best chance of passing your test first time! Fantastic experience: Well what can I say about Matt, from the moment I met him to now I have passed my test he has been brilliant ✅! I would highly recommend him as a driving instructor, he balanced having conversations and breaks within the lessons as to not overwhelm me; finding things to talk about that we had in common. From the first drive I felt comfortable with Matt as a driving instructor, week on week he pushed me in order to gain my confidence on roads; working our way up from side streets to dual carriageways, roundabouts and now motorways . I never could see the bigger picture, however now it is clear that week on week I came on leaps and bounds in my driving ability; this was all thanks to Matt and his amazing dedication to having me pass my test first time. Matt made learning to drive fun, his bubbly attitude made lessons enjoyable and something that I would not dread every week. He constantly reminded me to not dwell on the negatives and have a positive mental attitude even if I had made a mistake. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt as a driving instructor, he is patient, understanding and all round a very friendly person. Matt gave me the confidence to believe in myself and prove that I can pass my test, I will certainly miss our weekly chats! Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Matt as a driving instructor. Matt has a special way about teaching, focusing on the positives and not just on the negatives/ improvements. I found Matt made his lessons challenging allowing me to fully developed the skills needed for pretty much any road i encounter. Because of this when i took my test and passed first time, i found it a breeze. Matt is very friendly and is very easy to get along with, couldn’t recommend him more.

Fantastic experience: Learning with Matt has been a wonderful experience. Matt is very patient and encouraging throughout lessons. He has the right balance of professionalism and added humour that instantly settles nerves and I immediately felt comfortable with Matt. He really cares about the achievements of his students and this shows in his dedication to exposing you to be in situations that will push you and take you out of your comfort zone, with the knowledge that he is by your side supporting your throughout. He adapts his technique to suit the learning style of the learner and I felt that the lessons challenged me the right amount without being overwhelming. Learning to drive has been one of my biggest achievements and I am so proud to say I passed with just one driving fault. I am so grateful for Matt's expertise and guidance with this.
