Fantastic experience: Patient and trustworthy. I would recommend Paul to anyone who wants to learn. I passed first time while working full time and doing lessons on my lunch break. I started driving lessons thinking I was never going to get the hang of some things as I was extremely nervous and found Paul calm, kind and comfortable to be around. He managed to slot time in to give extra lessons if I needed them and never got frustrated if I wasn’t picking up something easily. I can’t thank Paul enough for helping me build my confidence with driving and making me believe in myself. If you want a good driving instructor with patience and a good sense of humour who will boost your self belief, then choose Paul. ☺️

Fantastic experience: I recently passed first time with 0 minors after learning with Paul at A-Ok, he's an excellent and knowledgable instructor who's always willing to go above and beyond. I started out as a very nervous and anxious driver, but now feel confident and safe in my abilities. Paul was always on time, and is a very calming presence - even when we encountered stressful road situations. He has a great sense of humour, which took lots of stress and anxiety away. I would not hesitate to recommend learning with A-Ok, they are truly excellent.

Fantastic experience: Where do I start…… I’ll start by saying thank you to Paul without your help, guidance and encouragement I don’t think I would have passed my driving test today! With 2 failed tests and my confidence at a low you helped me touch up on my driving skills and bring my confidence back up to where I trusted myself again! We only had a lesson every 2 weeks from 31/12/24 but today I passed and it’s all thanks to you! You really are a fantastic driving instructor with pools of knowledge behind you! Fantastic experience: I came to Paul a few weeks before my test and he gave me lessons when he had a cancellation. I only got 3 lessons and then practiced at home afterwards and I passed my test with 5 minors! Paul is a great instructor, calm and clear with what he says and very patient with you. 10/10 would recommend.

Paul has been in my life stepping up to be my stepdad for over 15 years now, and is the most outgoing person, so easy to talk to, very patient and a very understanding instructor. he would always focus on me and ask which areas i thought i needed help with to build confidence which helped massively! he would use his own days off to give me lessons which i am very appreciative of. he also made sure to put in the extra hours before my test and i got the result i wanted. despite being my stepdad he was so professional and was always calm and collective no matter the day of the week. thankyou so much for your hard work and being supportive and so patient with me to get that end result, couldn’t thank you enough!

Fantastic experience: Paul was a very good driving instructor, who is very calm, understanding and patient with his pupils. This led to me passing 1st time with only 3 minors. He was understanding of having to miss occasional lessons, and would give plenty of notice on the very rare occasion he had to cancel. He was also exceptional through the covid period until present and his car is regularly wiped down and he always wears a mask.

Paul is a professional and calm driving instructor, and with his guidance I was able to pass my driving test first time. Moreover, Paul always went the extra mile to ensure I was test ready and even took me to the test centre on his day off. His overall learning plan is well structured, while on an individual lesson basis client-centred, never forgetting to ask what your goals are at the start of every lesson. Fantastic experience: Passed First time with only 2 minor faults! Paul was a fantastic instructor all the way through my lessons. I never felt as though a lesson was wasted, whether I had a good or bad drive Paul was able to analyse and give great constructive feedback on ways to improve or areas that needed more attention. As a complete novice Paul's approach really suited my needs. Extremely punctual for lessons I was never left waiting and very flexible when I couldn't make a certain day he would always try fit me in elsewhere. Highly recommend A-Ok Thanks Paul!

Fantastic experience: Paul is an exemplary driving instructor. I had been trying for a number of years to get through my test with no success, and he was the instructor who was finally able to help me pass. He is exceptionally patient and will happily tailor the level of support he provides to the pupil's individual needs. Paul is also very understanding of anxious drivers and offers helpful reassurance and debriefing when things don't quite go to plan. I would highly recommend him, especially to learners who struggle with nervousness behind the wheel. Thanks for all your help, Paul!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test with A-OK, Paul is a very knowledge driving instructor, giving pupils the option to learn from the new client centered approach, while maintaining a quality insight into the key areas to get you through the new structure driving test that came out in December 2017. Throughout my time with Paul he was very professional, punctual and made you feel like you was his only student with his great people coaching skills. He always maintained a great balance between learning and fun to help you retain what you had learnt each week. From the start I said I didn't want to rush things, so over the weeks we covered all the aspects of the old and new test standards and then I booked in for a test and passed first time due to Paul's detailed training. I would highly recommend him if your looking to learn to drive in York area.

Fantastic experience: I took a few refresher lessons; Paul is an outstanding instructor! Not only he is punctual and professional, but, crucially, he is also very friendly and considerate. Psychology and rapport matters and Paul has a way of making the pupil feel relaxed, focussed and confident, maintaining the highest of standards for safe and efficient driving. He is really patient and highly perceptive. He is extremely good at transmitting knowledge and makes sure that you are a better driver at the end of every lesson; with Paul progress is really rapid. I highly recommend A-OK.

Fantastic experience: After using some big named driving schools, spending a fortune and not even getting in the driving seat, i decided to shop around for a small local driving school, I met with Paul as i wanted to put on of our employees through there test, from the start he was very professional and very knowledgeable, my employee felt at ease with him and was soon driving around like a pro. Paul gives the full time, he is always on time and after spending a fraction of the money i had with (Bill Plant) my employee passed his test first time, i was so impressed with Paul i have recommended him to friends and family, my daughter has started lessons with him and soon my son, i have no hesitations at all in recommending A-OK and Paul ..... just brillant!

Negative experience: Never had chance to prove if he was actually a good driving instructor or not. Instead he didn't turn up, left 15 mins notice and a pathetic excuse that 'the car had just come out of the garage and he had other lessons to catch up on'. surely if the car had been in the garage, he would have been able to let me know at least the day before? Was just a good job I hadn't already paid!
