Fantastic experience: Alvat is a calm and patient driving instructor who is great at recognising exactly what aspects of your driving need the most work. As a driver with international experience, this really allowed me to adjust my driving to the UK and get to a point where I could pass the test first time around. He was helpful and flexible, and was always ready to give advice on driving in the UK, renting cars, and other useful topics for a new UK driver. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Alwat has great knowledge on Oxford tricky places that might come up in the driving test. Can gauge the weakness and strengths well and focusses on them. He encourages perfection, so definitely do much better than we expect in the exam! I passed with 2 minor mistakes. His appointment booking system is good as well & answers everything patiently. Fantastic experience: Alvat is an excellent instructor who helped me pass first time and massively improved my confidence. I highly recommend using Alvat as your driving instructor. Alvat taught me everything I needed to pass my test, and to become a confident driver. I came to Alvat after an experience with another driving instructor who had had a negative effect on my anxiety surrounding driving. Alvat helped me get over my anxiety surrounding driving; he built me back up and drastically improved my driving. He was always very understanding when my anxiety took over. Alvat has taught me to be a good driver and has massively improved my confidence. Now having passed my test I will go back to Alvat to do my pass plus course, which I want to do for the experience on motorways and reduced insurance cost.

Each lesson he adds enough new content to keep pushing you and making sure you’re continually learning, while still repeating and solidifying the important fundamentals of driving. Fantastic experience: I passed the first attempt!!!! I couldn’t believe it. Alvat was clear, concise and calm with his instructions and explanations. I asked him the same questions a million times and he explained patiently every time. Anytime I made a mistake, he would ask me to pull over when it was safe to do so and we would go through where I had gone wrong and what I should have done. This was so helpful to me. Most importantly he would commend me after every lesson and this helped build my confidence immensely. I am hugely grateful to Alvat for being genuine and for going the extra mile to ensure I did the best I can in my test. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Fantastic experience: So, I passed first time, with only four faults having never driven before! This was all down to his consistency, patience, meticulous yet no pressure attitude to mistakes and friendly, relaxed manner. I had so much faith in his expertise, and he made sure I had a lot of confidence in my own abilities that when it came to test day I barely felt any nerves at all. He not only makes sure you have all of the new 2018 test skills down, but others that you'll need to become a safe road user once you start driving independently (which won't take long with AKG!) In short, I highly, highly recommend Alvat, you'd be remiss not to choose him for any and all of your driving needs. In fact, I intend to contact him again for a few hours of motorway training in the future!

Fantastic experience: Book Alvat if you are looking for a reasonably priced, no-nonsense instructor. I passed my test first time after 41 hours of tuition (mainly 1.5h lessons) taken over 4 months. Fast, efficient and to the point.

Fantastic experience: I had a lot of pressure to pass my test and researched a fair bit before settling on an instructor. Alvat had some solid reviews so I gave him a shot, totally prepared to switch if I didn't feel it was going to be right for me. Right off the bat though I knew I'd made the right choice. Alvat is consistent and doesn't miss a trick. Once you've got the basics down he'll let you decide where you feel you want to focus and has great local knowledge meaning that he can quickly find a route or area that will help you in that particular set of skills. This means you always feel you're getting good value for your money and of course your time. He is serious when you need to focus, and can be more lighthearted if your nerves start to fray to take the pressure off a bit. He also has some great film recommendations :D

Fantastic experience: Being somewhat nervous driving in the past, I had taken lessons with other driving schools and instructors, and never progressed to taking the practical test, no matter how many lessons I took, it was difficult to shake the nerves. However, Alvat was instantly able to make me feel comfortable and confident at the wheel of a vehicle. Through his lessons I was given not just the practical skills to drive but the push to get over my nerves and take the test. He was always remained calm when I made silly mistakes, helping me understand the errors and how to ensure that I don't repeat them. Alvat is passionate about teaching and driving, it is evident from the moment you meet him and comes across in his teaching. Alvat was always able to work around my, quite busy at times, schedule and fit lessons in when I needed them, even on Sundays for little while, I really appreciated that dedication to his students. With Alvat and AKG Driving, I was finally able to take my test and pass it. And for that I give him 5 stars.
