Fantastic experience: I felt very confident going into my test, the tuition was excellent, precise and detailed and John is very calm and kind esspecially when I made mistakes. Talking through mistakes at the end of lessons allowed me to think and improve on my driving and allowed me to identify what I had done well.

Fantastic experience: John is a very calm and reassuring driving instructor that helped me return to learning to drive after a few years off. The lessons progressed well from driving around a set of roads to develop my confidence and built up to large roundabouts, using very short slip roads, and mock tests that helped identify where to practice in my own time and prepare for what the real test would be like, while allowing me to choose how much input I would like from him in dealing with road situations to gradually move towards full independence. I would highly recommend John as a driving instructor!

Fantastic experience: John is a great driving instructor, very methodical, patient and encouraging. I’ve personally had a complex experience with learning to drive due to starting university and various other unfortunate timing situations. John was my third driving instructor and helped me to rebuild my confidence and relationship with driving. He worked around everything I already knew and we adapted each lesson according to different aspects we needed to cover. I can confidently now say that I enjoy driving and truly believe that I am a good driver too. Thank you for everything and I would recommend John to anybody whether you’re starting from the beginning or wishing to carry on learning to drive after some previous experience!

Fantastic experience: I was super nervous to start learning because my other instructor was always shout but she was calm person that has helped me overcome my fear and I become a confident driver. Fantastic experience: John, is an amazing instructor and person. He’s so professional in the way he holds himself and I am sad not to have lessons with him on a weekly basis. He’s an amazing teacher and I passed first time with his help and guidance and really recommend him to anyone who is learning to drive. He made it so easy to learn and helped me fix my mistakes by getting me to identify them my self. He’s never harsh or rude and is an easy person to get on with. I will miss our weekly chats and gossip but I couldn’t have passed first time without him! :)

Fantastic experience: I had come to john after driving for a year having 2 previous instructors. As a result my driving had some flaws and I was struggling a lot with my confidence and was very doubtful of myself. John was very patient and was able to find the cause of my confidence issues and we were able to work through them and rework my knowledge, making me a more competent driver that was able to pass first time. John was brilliant at being flexible with my university timetable and was always able to accommodate times I was available

Fantastic experience: John is the best instructor out of the three instructors I tried. I was a very anxious and nervous driver. John was perfect for me as he is extremely calm, patient and very professional. Other reasons why I would recommend John to anyone are: (1) always came prepared with a lesson plan to maximise the time and help with progress (2) regularly updated the sheet with all of the driving skills a pupil should develop (3) explained things clearly using real-life reference points (4) the lessons were challenging which helped me develop my skills faster (5) great value for money (6) helped me with my confidence. I truly believe John cares about his students and wishes them to be great drivers for life, and not just for everyone to pass their test (although that too!). After lessons with John, the driving test felt like a breeze thanks to the high standard of John’s teaching. I passed with only two minors.

His friendly and professional training is valuable and helped me if I needed to rework any areas of issue resulting in a pass with only 1 minor. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I struggled alot with bay parking and roundabouts . John let me practice these things a lot with detailed instructions on how to complete these manoeuvers. The lessons were thoroughly planned out and was told in advance what we would be doing . I would recommend John as he was understanding when you needed additional support with things .

Fantastic experience: I started taking refresher lessons with John having already passed my driving tests. I had not driven for four years and didn't feel confident or comfortable behind the wheel anymore. Essentially I had to relearn how to drive and John immediately put me at ease and explained how best to go about getting back into the swing of driving. We created a plan together, both from the first lesson and every lesson thereafter, which ultimately John wanted to be led by myself. This entailed deciding which aspects of driving I felt I needed to go over in order to regain my confidence, whether this be relearning clutch control or navigating roundabouts. John also offered his own suggestions for gaps in my driving. What I really appreciated about John's methods of teaching was that he was always patient and understanding, yet fair with his assessments of my driving and with pushing me out of my comfort zone in a safe and controlled manner. Furthermore, I liked that John always asked to what extent I wanted him to interject during my driving - for example, this could be fifty per cent of the time or not at all. I also welcomed John explaining what we were going to do and things to look out for before we started each lesson. Similarly we dissected the drive after each lesson to iron out any errors for the future and also set out a plan of action for the next lesson. I can tell John has a wealth of knowledge and experience from years of driving and teaching so you feel in very safe hands. I never once felt in danger and John is great at making you feel at ease and a calming presence if you're anxious about driving. He is also always up to date with the highway code and new implementations or revisions which is often an overlooked aspect of becoming a responsible driver by instructors. I could not recommend John enough, both for someone looking to regain their confidence behind the wheel or driving for the first time and preparing for a test. John has brought back my confidence in driving and instilled into me good habits that I will take forward after being a shadow of my former self in the car.

Fantastic experience: John is a great driving instructor, I was with him from a beginner with no driving experience, he covered every topic well and made sure I was ready for my test in time. I passed first time with 4 minors, we did mock tests to find out my weak points and amended them for my real test, I would definitely recommend John as a driving instructor if you are planning on taking your driving lessons.

John really helped me right from the start when I’d never sat in a drivers seat never mind navigated the roads , but his patience and practical steps got me through them first nervous weeks and eventually built my confidence up to pass my test. Fantastic experience: John Was a great driving instructor for me, he really pushed me every lesson to the perfect amount where it wasn’t too difficult yet not too easy, he also really helped with putting in extra hours for me when getting closer to my test date, which was a squeeze, for example working hours over a bank holiday weekend, these extra hours allowed me to fix errors i was making and be able to pass first time with just 3 minors. I would definitely recommend john as your driving instructor!

Fantastic experience: Usually I don't write reviews, but I really wanted to write a review about John and his driving lessons. I am 43 years old and I am a fully qualified driver, but I don’t have much driving experience in the UK and especially in busy towns/cities. My work office moved, and I needed to start driving to get to the office. So, I found John’s details on the internet and messaged him. I explained the situation that I need quite urgently driving lessons. So, he got back to me straight away, and I got even two lessons on next week. I was quite nervous at the first few lessons, and I did have quite a few bad habits which John pointed out straight away and we started working on them: harsh breaking or I tend to use breaks often when I don’t need, instead of using a clutch. We worked on clearance and meeting a lot because I didn’t have much experience in this area. I’ve had 6 lessons so far and I can feel that John managed to bring my confidence back and I already managed to go to the office on my own. I decided to carry on with his lessons, because I can see that I am still learning many vital skills from John which can be very helpful in the future. Without any doubt I would highly recommend John for anyone who is looking for driving lessons as a beginner or who needs to build their confidence back in driving. John has an excellent teaching approach. He is amazingly calm, patient, very polite, and professional. Even I already have my driving license, but he never commented that I should know this or that if I am qualified. He understood my situation and was very supportive. Thank you very much, John!
