Fantastic experience: As a parent, I would have no hesitation recommending Sonny to anyone who is looking to commence driving lessons for their child ! He was very professional, clear with instruction, encouraging and patient. He put my child at ease particularly during the early lessons. In asking of their progress, he was always happy to provide an update and focus on the positives which enabled my child to learn from their mistakes and build their confidence. Fantastic experience: The lessons were enjoyable! And always focused on the goal of the lesson which was set out at the beginning. The smaller goals throughout the learning process is what helped me particularly gain confidence on roads and most importantly during the test. Well, thanks for this review, Niall, even though you've never had a lesson from me.
You've also made a bit of a fool of yourself because, although it's Richard and Rebecca who make the videos and not me, I was a police officer for 30 years and trained to drive police cars very fast. I can reassure you, as you seem to need it, that as a police driver one of the most infuriating things to happen on the way to an emergency call was when someone simply stopped in front of you. This is because, usually, where they stopped they were blocking my progress, making it harder to get around them and by extension delaying my getting to the emergency.
It is much easier for the emergency vehicle for you to slow *a bit* and move over to the left, leaving the decision as to when to get around to the emergency vehicle driver.
So, there you are. Without even having had a lesson from me, I have educated you. There is no charge. However, would you care to amend your review??

Hi Niall - thank you for your response to my response. I would like to respond further.
I'm not sure how you can think that the movement of a car in front of you can lengthen your stopping distance. Surely the main factors in stopping distance are;
your speed
your weight
the condition of the road surface
the condition of your tyres/ brakes
how hard you actually press the brake pedal
None of the above are affected by the car in front 'rolling' forward at an appropriate speed, trying to help you safely pass.
I have spoken with former police colleagues about this, plus a friend whose wife is an ambulance driver. They and she do not agree with you at all and agree with my previous comments.
It appears we have differing views over whether or not people should simply stop for emergency vehicles or not. That doesn't justifiy you leaving a poor review for me personally. If you had a poor McDonalds in John o'Groats, would you leave a poor review for the McDonalds in Penzance? I hope you wouldn't, because that would be unreasonable. Why have you left a poor review for me when I am *nothing* to do with the video production? A couple of minutes of research on the company website would have shown who the drivers are, and would made you realise that I was not the person who you should be reviewing.
If you believe it is fair, just and reasonable to leave a poor review for someone whose service you have *never* seen or experienced, then carry on. If, however, you think such behaviour is unfair, unjust and unreasonable - as most people would do - then you may want to amend your review.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Sonny has been excellent, I had been learning since December 2021 and struggled to get regular lessons due to commitments at school, however, his patience and dedication towards me and working towards me passing my test was unmatched. Fantastic experience: Sonny has been a great instructor who taught me to drive right from the very basics, resulting in a first time pass with only 2 minors. He has been very patient and persistent, especially when I started learning which I was very nervous about and has helped me to built up my confidence massively whilst driving. He is very clear at explaining everything, punctual and friendly, yet he also makes sure you are aware of your weaknesses and helps you to improve them. I would 100% recommend his lessons!

Fantastic experience: Thank you very much sonny! It was a very quick turn around as I had my test in 3 weeks and had only had a couple of lessons before hand, after my first lesson it was clear that I needed to improve! However, amazingly after 4 lessons with sonny my driving developed a lot and I was able to pass my test with 0 minors, thanks to sonny. Very good instructor and a very nice guy. Was able to teach me quickly but ensuring that I am a safe driver. Also very useful techniques such as for the manoeuvres and taught me everything I need to know to pass my test but also driving in general. Very recommendable.

Fantastic experience: Sonny is not an arbitrary driving instructor. He has a unique student oriented approach, identifying your needs and being able to develope techniques to teach you efficiently in a short amount of time. In my case, I was holding a non-European driving licence for 10 years and I was not able change my old habits. However, Sonny not only helped me to pass the driving exam but also removed my old habits and improved my driving skills. I cannot imagine of any other instructor who could help me more. Fantastic experience: I learned with Sonny and passed today, he was very thorough throughout my learning and was a great person to be around in that time. Whenever I was doing something difficult he would keep me calm and always speak in a respectful manner, and was always a good laugh too. Fantastic experience: PASSED FIRST TIME!!! Very pleased that a friend recommended Sonny to me. I spent weeks looking for a driving instructor that I felt comfortable with. Sonny was very patient with me through the process of learning this skill. His calm demeanor and friendly approach-ability helped greatly the whole time. Fantastic experience: A fantastic driving instructor. I changed instructor after about 5 lessons to Sonny and instantly enjoyed my lessons far more than before.
