Fantastic experience: I just passed my practical driving test in my first attempt all thanks to my fantastic instructor Mr Michael Grundy and A2Z motoring for the great job. I would recommend anyone looking up to becoming a safe driver in the UK to deal with this school.

Negative experience: I’ve had an awful experience being with this company and not realising how bad it was getting towards the end when I decided to switch to another school, at the start the lessons went good however it went downhill afterwards. For one the lessons were booked far apart from each other (one every 3 weeks or so) making it hard for me to progress as a new driver. Some of the lessons were moved or cancelled late by THE INSTRUCTOR HIMSELF and I’m pretty sure if I did that they wouldn’t be happy and charge me for a late cancellation. So he should be charged himself. And he would turn up late to lessons because he’s stuck in traffic. Latest arrival was 15 mins late wasting my money away waiting for him to show up. On the lessons he’d be swearing at every driver or cyclist because he really hates them. He would shout slurs at drivers and it would really put me off. He’d raise his voice at me when I make mistakes and just say “what are you doing there” and laugh, not trying to help me in the slightest. He’d also have most of the control and give me answers to questions he’d expect me to answer for him. He would use his phone while I was driving not paying attention to keeping me safe as a LEANER DRIVER who can EASILY make one mistake and crash and get them in trouble for not ensuring my safety as a learner. We would be driving out to fforestfach and llansamlet which is quite far so that’s half an hour wasted of HIM driving there and not me so I’m not even learning on the way there. And one time he took 10 mins to go back to the main office DURING LESSON HOURS TO USE THE TOILET. It is outrageous what I’m paying him for. Overall I had 16 hours of driving lessons and 11 lessons in total adding up to £748 and making little progress between August and December. What an absolute joke. I even told him I’m switching instructors because it’s better for me and I wished him a merry Christmas and all he said was “ok no problem” and I thought how rude was that. Then Monday AND Tuesday he got someone ELSE to text me and say call him to rebook lessons AFTER I HAD EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I ALREADY SWITCHED. So clearly he’s desperate for students back because I assume more students are leaving and going elsewhere. And I imagine he’s desperate also because he hasn’t had a passed student since September 2023. This instructor is named Mike Grundy. Something needs to be done he needs to be fired for his conduct. Please avoid this company and go elsewhere because it’s expensive and they are very unreliable when it comes to actual lesson time. Update: he’s still working at this company with the way he treats other pupils, look through the reviews to prove my point that his attitude and conduct is absolutely unacceptable and he needs to be sacked.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs! Had a handful of lessons with Mike and it is probably the worst experience someone could have as an unexperienced driver. Caught him falling asleep a couple times while I was driving during two of my first few lessons. He’ll spend 15-20 minutes on his phone after picking you up. I had about 9 or 10 lessons with Mike between July and October, and every single one was exactly the same. Going around the same 4 roundabouts in Llansamlet, which made it seem to me like I wasn’t making any progress whatsoever. On the odd occasion where he would take me to a car park to try a manoeuvre he wouldn’t explain very well how I was supposed to do it, he would just tell me to reverse park into a space. If I didn’t get it quite right I would ask to try again and he said no because there’s not enough time left in the lesson. He’ll try to waste as much time and as many lessons as possible so you keep paying him. He also raised his prices from £70 for a two hour lesson to £75 all of a sudden without any notice, only telling me about it when I was already in the car ready for the lesson. On top of everything he is rude and impatient. I can’t imagine how long it would’ve taken for me to pass my test if I would’ve stayed with him. Complete waste of time and money, would not recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Don't trust this company at all because you paid for 2 hours lessons but your lesson is ganna be an hour. they rub your money and also they are very rude. not recommended at all

Fantastic experience: Can't fault Simon at all, my son only had a few driving lessons with him as he had previous experience with a different instructor who was absolutely horrendous. Simon always turned up on time, polite and also had my son test ready in a few lessons and passed first time with Simon. Highly recommend Simon and a to z

Negative experience: Mike was harsh, unhelpful and kept comparing me to other 'better' learners that he was teaching at the time. Didn't have good availability and then told me off for not having frequent enough lessons. Would always drive out to Llansamlet taking up much of the lesson and we would drive around all the roundabouts for lessons on end, despite the fact I was doing them fine. Dragged out the lessons to get more money. When I asked if I should book a test he said yes that I was ready, but if he decided closer to the time that I was not 'up to scratch' that he wouldn't take me (ie, I wouldn't have a car to drive during the test?!)

Negative experience: The worst driving lesson company in Swansea by far. Stay far way from Simon if he is teaching you. Constantly puts you down and loves to drag on the lessons to take more money out of you. Simon severely put my confidence down in driving. I told Simon multiple times to take me to do some Briton Ferry routes as it is a common test route. He always used to say to me 1 hour lessons is not enough to go there and back where as with other instructors I used to go all the time in a 1 hour lesson. Simon also used to arrive late to my lessons and drop me back on my finishing time so I never used to get my moneys worth. A to Z also removed me from their online account with no warning as I told Simon I am taking a break from more lessons. Avoid this company and Simon like the plague, I spent thousands with them for no reason at all. I passed my test first time with another instructor, If I was with A to Z they would never give me a test and would constantly milk me out for more money. Greedy and corrupt, They just want your money and nothing else. AVOID!!!.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever I went to my first lesson yesterday with Mike he is a very rude man. He uses bad words, insults, and swears words and never teaches or explains anything. He talks on the phone while driving and screams all the time. I do not recommend it even if it is free. HE NEEDS TO LEARN POLITENESS AND RESPECT

Fantastic experience: I just passed my driving test with them. My instructor,Trina Davies, was absolutely brilliant. She is so flexible with her schedule as well as to your learning needs. She makes sure you are comfortable and feels calm when doing the lessons so lessen the pressure of it. Overall, I had a good experience with A-Z.

Negative experience: Never had a lesson from this driving school but seeing how they drive themselves I'm shocked they're still in business........doesn't know the rules of giving way on motorway slip roads and nearly causing an accident on the M4 today (12/2/24)

Fantastic experience: EDIT 27/11/2023: I passed today! Trina never gave up on me and always had faith that I would pass. She worked with me to help ease my nerves and went the extra mile to provide support, definitely recommend! Original review: So I am yet to pass my test (Nerves keep getting the best of me) but with regards to the experience of learning to drive with A2Z I will say it's been everything i'd hoped it'd be. I'm easily intimidated by teachers but my experience with Trina Davies has been nothing short of fantastic. She is so warm and friendly, she instantly puts you at ease whilst you're in the car. I genuinely didn't think I knew anything about driving but now after roughly 20 hours I'm driving competently and safely. Whenever I've made a mistake or been hard on myself, Trina is right there to reassure me and boost my confidence up again. She believes in focusing on the positives and making you believe in your own abilities. She's calm, patient and great at explaining things in a way that is easy to understand. She's also a good laugh once you get to know her! Genuinely love the time i've had with her and would recommend her to anyone who is afraid of the whole experience, she's definitely one to go for.

Negative experience: Wouldn't give it one star. No this is NOT a fake review before the 'owner' tells me it is. I had a good few lessons many years ago. I found the instructor rude, shouty and only cared about block booking more lessons. After wasting a lot of money here I left and went with another school and I passed my driving practical test first time. Doesn't seem like this school has changed much so yeah I would avoid.

Fantastic experience: I cannot fault Simon for his patience and the clarity of teaching - I'd had lessons in the past and not enjoyed the experience, but he made me realise that it was the way I had been taught and not the actual act of driving that I wasn't getting on with. Happy to say that I passed today and am over the moon

Fantastic experience: i personally recommend Patrina davies! i had many lessons with her and she was amazing!! she is so kind and calm and she explains everything so well and i just wouldn’t have passed my test without her. she does teach in an automatic but it’s well worth going with her as she’s just amazing and i can’t express how thankful i am for her!

Fantastic experience: After passing my test and getting on the road, I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Lorna Bromham to anyone looking to learn to drive. She has been an outstanding teacher to me, a not very natural driver. Flexible, patient, kind, adaptable to my learning style but still excellent with constructive and knowledgeable feedback. Fantastic experience: I have been attending the under 17s event with my 14 year old son for 6 months and I couldn't recommend it more! It has given him confidence in driving, meeting new people and communication skills. The driving is done on their private grounds and there are plenty of areas of them to learn as the site is huge! The location is easy to find and there is parking on site. The staff at reception are friendly and always very helpful. I would recommend this to friends and family and anyone who's wanting to grow confidence behind the wheel and get ready for being on the road.

Fantastic experience: Just had a 2 hour automatic lesson with Trina honestly she is amazing relaxed as ever she makes you feel so calm honestly I went from going from a quiet area to a main busy road from Margam back to neath and had no trouble whatsoever so thank you Trina and highly recommend her as an instructor grab her when she has spaces available well worth paying the prices I seriously can’t wait for my lesson on Sunday let’s hit that wheel again xx

Fantastic experience: My instructor Lorna was amazing, helped me get through the days I really didn’t wanna do and got me to my license. Couldn’t have asked for a better instructor

Negative experience: Started taking lessons with them back at the end of 2019 with one of the instructors. He was okay but he was a bit forgetful now and again. He was meant to pick me up one time from Gower College Swansea in Tycoch but instead turned up at my house. I did double check with him prior to pick me up from the college as well. Then in 2020 I was taking lessons with another instructor because the other one couldn't work weekends! The driving instructor was okay to begin with but after a while we just kept driving around roundabouts in Llansamlet. Bearing in mind that I did this for every single lesson. I wasn't having the variety or experience to work on for different driving conditions on different roads etc! COVID-19 kicked off inbetween this as well so this hindered my progress with the first lockdown! So the months dragged on and I wasn't getting far to be honest. My driving instructor kept holding me back. On top of this they kept increasing the prices for lessons which learning to drive is expensive already! Storm Eunice came along then in February 2022. I had a lesson booked during this but I cancelled this the day before because of the adverse weather conditions! A2Z of Motoring were expecting me then to pay for that lesson still afterwards! How can I control the weather!? So I stopped learning to drive with A2Z of Motoring and went with Uplands School of Motoring instead. I just had enough of the incompetence and annoyance of it all to be honest. I am pleased to say as well that I passed my driving test recently! Thank god! So stay away from them at all costs. Trust me you will regret it.

Fantastic experience: My son really enjoyed his first junior lesson here, having previously been with Young Driver, good that it mimics actual roads with hills, etc and not just driving around a car park.

Negative experience: Drove up incredibly close and started beeping and gesturing rudely at me. You can find better driving instructors than these lot. But at least we now know where the rest of Swansea's bad drivers come from. Pay attention to all the one star reviews and avoid this business.

Negative experience: I would have put 0 stars but I can't had a 2 hour lesson with Mike, before we started he said that I'm going to need lots of lessons before he even knew what my driving is 10 mins into the lesson and he's telling me to stop and descusing next lesson booking I would advise anyone not to waste your money with Mike

Negative experience: Since the company has labeled this review as "fake" I will expand a little on this review. I started learning practical driving with Ryan Kehoe. Initially he seemed nice and lessons were okay, but after about 8 lessons or so he started canceling or straight not coming to lessons, which resulted in me not progressing much in driving. Every time I would have to start over from scratch since I haven't driven for 2-3 weeks . I waited for him outside for at least 1 hour 2 or 3 times just for him now to show up. Not to mention on how instead of taking some responsibility for canceling so much, he just kept blaming me for being bad at driving. Now this all has been going on for about a year and I had to cancel my driving practical lesson 2 times (I have passed my theory from 1st time). After the last time he canceled on me without saying anything ( I've waited for an hour), I requested a refund for lessons that I have taken with Ryan (about 13-14 if I remember correct) from A2Z, just to receive email blaming me for going home for summer (and therefore not practicing with them during that time). This was from early May 2019 till Mid January 2020. In January 2020 I have gone to study with Ben (unfortunatly don't remember his surname) from Autolearners. I have practiced with him for 1.5 months and happily passed my test thereafter (with only 10 lessons from him). So yeah folks, don't waste your time here, A2Z only wants your money and that is it.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend totally waste of time and money, complained about one of the instructor on Friday and phone operator keep saying every time owner will call you to resolve the issue and until Monday didn’t hear anything from him, operator said he’s also instructor and busy with lessons(conning money, in my words). Been told by instructor my wife is not ready for test and she won’t give her car for the test because instructor is fear she might bang it somewhere despite having dual control and examiner can stop the car if it’s any danger , First I thought ok my wife is not ready for test but I’ve got to know from one of my friend his wife is taking lessons from 1 year yes you heard right from 1 year and everything she says to book test same reply comes from other instructor ‘you are not ready and I won’t give you my car’ then I realise it’s their way to con people just the right way under the nose

Negative experience: Worst worst derive ever!!! Took so many hours of lessons and was doing privately. Worst instructor ever lorna Philips just after money. Doesn’t have experience her self. complained to the owner but the owner himself is unresponsive after calling several time over 3 days. When called wasn’t even ready to accept anything. One of my friend is having lessons from Sara for almost a year still she says her that she isn’t ready for the test this makes look that they are just after money The 2.5 rating makes sense on there website. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY

Negative experience: The driving instructors are ok, the school is really bad. They wouldnt tell me my instructor was changing to automatic the week before my test, making me spend a few hundred more pounds getting used to another car to take my test months later. I would actively avoid it and discourage people from using them because they are rude, disorganised and greedy. As i say though, this is not the fault of the instructor.

Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with A2Z of Motoring was a great experience, I was quite nervous before starting but my instructor put me at ease and helped me pass my practical driving test. The central office also provided excellent customer service whenever I needed to get in contact with them. Overall a great driving school, I would recommend them to anyone.
