Fantastic experience: Just passed my test first time yesterday. Steve was an amazing instructor, his teaching style suited me well with a perfect mix of driving time and discussions while stopped. He always answered my questions and ensured I truly understood procedures and manoeuvres. Whenever I made a mistake, he never just dictated what I should have done but encouraged me to consider WHY what I did was a problem and how I should rectify it. In addition to being a good teacher, he was calm, friendly and flexible at all times. I can only recommend his services!

Fantastic experience: I have had a couple of instructors before finding Steve, and can safely say he is the best! After a bad experience with on instructor focussing on purely the negatives… it was imperative to find someone who would build my confidence back up and with a lot more positivity. Steve was perfect - so friendly, and could have a laugh putting my nerves at ease and with some invaluable tips getting me test ready. First time pass with him too - thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Steve enough. Prior to learning with Steve, I had tried two instructors and had lessons for 12 months and was not progressing. Steve made me feel comfortable from day one, I was a very nervous driver and he always had confidence in me when I had none of my own. He is patient, friendly and super helpful. Fantastic experience: Steve is an absolutely fabulous instructor. Driving is a unique combination of every skill I'm naturally bad at, and from day 1 Steve was keenly attentive to my needs and finding the best way for me to learn. Steve will teach you based on the way you want to learn, not the way he wants you to. We worked together to develop all of my skills to the level I needed them to be. The fact that I found driving to be so difficult makes it astonishing that Steve was able to help me pass first time with two minors. He's patient, understanding, and and really friendly. His style of teaching perfectly prepares you to drive, it's not all about passing a test. He's the best person to be trapped in a moving metal box with and I looked forward to every single lesson, even if it was a mock test. 500000 star service Steve, I miss spending my mornings with you!

Fantastic experience: Excellent instructor. Very well organised in preparation. Very methodical in his teaching style and use of multiple learning strategies. Good sense of humour, personable, down to earth. Also, very calm in dealing with (repeat!) errors. I actually experienced another instructor in York and the difference was night and day. Fantastic experience: I had struggled with the confidence and later anxiety around struggling to get my licence for years. I came to Steve having had 2 other driving instructors at various points in my life but never feeling test ready. I can honestly say without Steve’s lessons , patience and kindness I wouldn’t have passed my test first time this afternoon with only 2 minors ! The app Steve uses is great for understanding where you are with your progress / lessons. I had asked for numerous explanations, pointers in the notes section and it was always religiously updated after a lesson with m progress notes , check markers. It’s been an absolute pleasure to learn with Steve , a truly great teacher and an even better bloke ! I would recommend Steve to anyone no matter their driving experience.

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend highly enough! Steve is an amazing instructor, really clear and encouraging. I got so much out of my lessons and found him friendly and easy to be in a car with (always a nice bonus). Driving didn’t come naturally to me and I found it quite a challenge, Steve was patient and helpful throughout all my lessons and gave me the confidence to pass my test when I didn’t think I could. He also came up with different ways of explaining things if I was unsure. I passed 1st time and the hour before my test really helped me settle my nerves. Fantastic experience: I've been having driving lessons with Steve for about a year and it's been such a pleasure to have him teach me. I passed the first time round, could not believe that I had done it, but all thanks to Steve and his hard work to get me to this place :) I will miss having to drive around with you but guess it's my turn now to own the roads on all by myself and apply all of it. You truly are the best ever and it's been such a journey that I will never forget and thank you for being so patient with me. He gave me the most confidence to be able to finally past my test after thinking I never would be able to. He has taught me everything so clearly and thoroughly. He is a great instructor! Fantastic experience: Steve is a very patient instructor. I’m not a native English speaker, sometimes I cannot understand he was talking about, Steve always tries different way to explain. When I made same mistakes while driving, he pointed out without any impatient words and told me how to improve it. Steve also has a great ability to carry out a plan for next course depend on the progress I made. He gave me a lot of encouragements and I can say without his help I couldn’t pass the test with the first attempt.

Fantastic experience: I have had plenty of driving instructors whilst learning to drive for 5 years! And then I found Steve who had so much patience with me, taught me how to become a safe/confident driver. Would highly recommend. I would not of passed my test if it wasn’t for Steve! Fantastic experience: Steve is an amazing driver + driving tutor. I just passed my test with no driving faults because of Steve’s wonderful lessons and teaching over the last few months. He went above and beyond with his lessons, he was always on time for lessons, always patient, always polite, i always felt 100% safe with him and he took my driving from a complete beginner in July 2021 to a qualified driver in November 2021. He also has an extraordinary understanding of the local roads and routes which is absolutely crucial in York as I didn’t know the roads in this area at all. I just wanted to say to Steve, it’s been such a pleasure having you as my driving instructor, you're worth every penny and most important of all, I feel safe and confident on the roads ... and we had a good laugh sometimes too! Fantastic experience: I would recommend Steve as an instructor without a shred of hesitation, he is a superb teacher with vast experience and expert theoretical knowledge, that he imparts with such patience. I began taking lessons with him as an anxious driver with several bad habits, feeling incredibly disheartened having made no progress with another instructor. Miraculously, under Steve’s coaching I passed first time, with only three minors. Steve has a wonderfully calm and kind nature. I am somewhat sad to no longer be learning to drive with him! I found him to be both encouraging and accommodating, always prepared to go the extra mile with helpful lesson reviews and suggestions for exercises to practise in my own car on the run up to my test date. Lessons with Steve are a very worthwhile investment, act fast!

Fantastic experience: I had lessons with Steve over about 10 months and passed last week! Driving an automatic car was definitely a wise choice- I was a really nervous driver and the simplicity of the transmission helped a lot. And Steve was a great teacher! He is calm and sincere, with an encyclopedic knowledge of driving. He also knows a lot about the tests in York like the routes, difficult turnings and tricky spots, and passes all of that info on! I was really impressed with Steve's dedication to getting me to pass, and his professionalism on the road. His teaching also applies to real world driving as well as passing the test, so I'm confident driving now I've passed and feel I have covered versions of most things I'll find on the open road. I'm so happy to have passed! Thanks! :-)

Fantastic experience: I have been learning to drive with numerous instructors since I was roughly 17 years old and never got to the point where I felt good enough to pass a test. Now 31 and after many failed attempts I started learning with Steve and after only a few hours I was test ready! Not only is he the most professional person ever, he’s super kind and takes his time with everything. I’ve never had so much confidence and felt so at ease with an instructor!
