Fantastic experience: Ausaf is amazing driving instructor. He was patient, friendly and communicated well. Fantastic experience: Barry at Mercury Driving school is an excellent instructor, with a calm and understanding attitude towards every aspect of driving. His teaching is clear and concise and each of my lessons were evaluated verbally and all progress and improvements were noted in an app so I, and Barry, could access this throughout my driving journey:) I am quite a nervous person and I overthink a lot and Barry was very patient with me and gave me tips to overcome my mistakes and not get overwhelmed when something didn’t go as planned. Fantastic experience: I would 100% recommend Barry from mercury driving school. Having been with another instructor who kept letting me down barry restored my confidence and allowed me to feel so comfortable in the car. The way in which he teaches allows you full understanding with clear tips and advice to improve your driving skills. Having Barry made everything so much more relaxed as you didnt feel any pressure whilst being in the car and could focus on improving your skills of driving. The detail in which Mercury Driving School goes into allows you to see your progress through their driving app which is very rewarding as after each lesson you have evidence of yourself learning something new which is very rewarding and a huge confidence boost. Barry is a true professional and i wouldn’t recommend anyone else in the basingstoke area! 10/10 for every aspect involved.

Fantastic experience: I had a 4 hour lesson with joe and he made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. He was understanding and gave me tips on how to improve my driving in order to pass my test that is coming up.

Fantastic experience: Barry was so kind and patient with my daughter, who has dyslexia and has social anxiety around new people. He never lets you down and with his encouragement she passed her driving test first time! They gave us some really useful tips about how to pass her theory test which she struggled with due to being dyslexic. Would highly recommend Mercury Driving School!!!

Fantastic experience: I was learning to drive with a different driving school but then switched and was learning with Joe. In just under 3 months Joe helped me pass my theory and practical test! So calm, understanding, always took his time with me and even tried different ways if I didn’t understand the first time. Would highly recommend to anyone!!

Fantastic experience: Great guy, willing to work with you and give you great advice and wisdom while teaching you how to drive. When I started I panicked a lot, especially at other drivers and don’t get me started on roundabouts. But we worked through the issues in a logical and sometimes less than logical manor that worked. Not only were they great quality lessons, proven by the fact he helped me pass first time with very few faults (Thanks Barry), they were fun. Fantastic experience: I can honestly not recommend Barry enough! The passion, knowledge and patience he has is honestly amazing. Someone recommended Mercury driving school in March which I then got in contact with Barry, after a 45 minute phone call with Barry to just get an introduction of what Barry could offer I knew that he was the one and he stood out from all other local instructors. He’s very very reliable, believed in me since day 1 even when I was stalling every time I took off :) I felt so comfortable driving with Barry. We always had a laugh when driving but still achieved everything we had to during our lessons. 30 hours later I passed my test 1st time in Basingstoke! I can not fault Barry and Mercury driving school for anything. Thanks Barry for teaching me, watch out I’m on the roads now :)

Fantastic experience: My son Ethan has nothing but praise and positive words about his driving instructor Barry. Having contacted five driving schools during the lockdown in a desperate attempt to book driving lessons for Ethan as close to his 17th birthday in April as I could, Barry from Mercury Driving School was one of two that replied. Insuring that he would be able to book Ethan as close to his birthday as he could and once lockdowns had been lifted. In the meantime he suggested that we book Ethan's theory test as soon as we could. Barry stuck to his word and Ethan had his first driving lesson the day after his birthday. Barry has been reliable, punctual and helpful throughout all of Ethan's lessons and as a parent, instantly put my mind at ease. Ethan has now passed his practical test and I feel very confident in both his driving ability and his awareness of other road uses. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Barry and Mercury Driving School.

Fantastic experience: My experience of learning to drive with Mercury Driving School was fantastic. The lessons were always enjoyable and stress-free. I was asked at the start of each lesson what I thought we should cover, so every lesson had a purpose, and I felt in control of my progress. Everything was organised through an app, including a progress tracker which helped me to gauge how close I was to being test-ready. Barry is friendly, reliable, and easy to contact outside of lessons. He is very calm and understanding (even when I made mistakes!), providing a safe space to learn and progress. I would recommend Mercury Driving School to anyone wanting to learn to drive. With Barry's help I was able to pass my driving test first time, and I have felt confident driving in my own car now that I have passed. Thanks for all of your help Barry!

Fantastic experience: Barry is a patient and professional instructor with tons of real life experience. He really goes the extra mile by taking time to give context to his lessons and goes at the pace of the student. Despite the breaks in our lessons due to covid and work Barry always found a way to make our lessons flow from one another we always swiftly picked up where we last left of. Additionally he always put the emphasis on what I would like to take away from the lesson before hand. I earned a pass first time with Barry and would highly recommend him as an instructor to anyone looking as a first time learner of someone with some lessons already under their belt! Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed my driving learning experience at Mercury Driving School. From the first lesson, right up until the end, the standards of the lessons provided remained the same of which was high quality. The communication from the driving instructor to me as the student was always very clear and comfortable both inside and outside of lessons. They adapt their way of teaching to best suit you as an individual and to make you feel at ease and as comfortable as could be during your lessons. Barry always asked me what I wanted to work on and personally achieve each lesson, which made me enjoy it more and feel more reassured in myself that I can do it. The support for theory tests and any questions or queries that you may have outside of lesson hours, is also great; which helped ease some of my concerns during both lockdowns. They are a very supportive, caring and professional driving school and make your experience just a little bit better than you initially expect it to be. From Barry’s time and support, I managed to pass both my theory and practical test first time despite two lockdowns and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend, especially if you are a bit apprehensive and nervous about starting driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: To try and cut a long story short, my wife once feigned bladder problems midway through trying to teach me how to start a car in a disused car park (a fact I learned shortly after passing my test). I was that hopeless even my loving, supportive wife couldn’t cope with trying to teach me how to drive!!! That was until I met Barry. From the outset Barry put me completely at ease and by the end of our first lesson he succeeded where many others had failed. I could start and pull away in a car without issue. If memory serves me right I even managed to reach second gear, a small feat but one I honestly never thought possible! Second lesson I was on the road and within a few short months all but test ready! Barry couldn’t have made the whole experience any easier. Calm, patient, knew exactly when to push or reassure, extremely thorough, was always on time and even made himself available to discuss any concerns or ask questions outside of lessons. He really did go the extra mile for me and I’m sure that’s true of all his students. I genuinely couldn’t recommend Barry as a driving instructor highly enough and wouldn’t hesitate to put any of my friends or family members in contact with him if they were looking to learn to drive. Thank you for everything, Barry. You really helped change my life.

Fantastic experience: Barry and I worked on my practical driving test as well as my theory. I was initially very nervous of getting on the road, however with Barry's friendly and professional demeanor my nerves were quickly forgotten. We worked on all aspects of driving and covered all manouveres until they were 100% accurate to test standards. It was great driving with someone who is clearly passionate about starting people on the correct path to start there driving career. Theory test passed with flying colours Practical test passed with 2 minors I would not hesitate recommending Barry to anyone looking to start or even get a taste for the freedom driving can bring Let's hope we can get that round of golf we spoke about during our lessons.
