Fantastic experience: An excellent driving instructor, patient and calm. Steve was able to help problem solve issues I was having. I am dyslexic I have found learning to drive a challenge with other instructors, but he understood my learning style. I am now a confident driver thanks to Steve!

Fantastic experience: Passed my automatic driving test with Steve today. Very friendly and patient instructor, and has a great humour. Very experienced with teaching. Taught me all the knowledge I needed to know to drive safely (significantly more than just the basic practical driving skills that my first instructor taught me). After using 3 instructors around the country I can wholeheartedly say Paul was the best. Super professional and lovely to chat to. Lessons were informative but relaxed and constructive.

Fantastic experience: I started driving lessons with Steve (Lichfield area ) in September 2023, prior to this id had several instructors and wasnt getting anywhere then started with steve in September! His a highly recommended driving instructor, his very patient and calming! He was very good with times and worked around me as I home educate My SEN daughter. He gave me so much advice it unreal. Today (5/3/24) I passed my driving test. Thank you so much Steve for all your help!

He has a great teaching method which allows students to become confident in themselves to drive and eventually pass their test. I have had a few instructors in the past and have stopped and started lessons; Lacking confidence and being nervous. When I booked in with Steve, from the offset, he has gone out of his way. He knows how to releive nerves and anxieties and makes you feel relaxed whilst learning with him. He is professional and extremely knowledgeable and lessons are far from boring; you have some laughs which is always a bonus. Honestly, I can't recommend him enough! Fantastic experience: Steve is an amazing instructor - calm, supportive, knowledgable, and patient. He helped me pass at 32, I had no prior driving experience. I was really nervous to start, but Steve guided me through every step of the way and supported me when I doubted myself, and he gave me the confidence to try and try again. Paul Fradley has been an excellent instructor, he has coached me through the pandemic and has persevered with me through my anxiety that was the cause of me failing 6 previous times! I would highly recommend Paul, his professionalism and empathy has truly supported me through and I'm glad he stuck it out with me and I'm so pleased to celebrate passing on my 7th attempt.

Fantastic experience: I’m so thankful for Steve helping me pass first time even despite my anxiety! I’ve been through two other instructors in which I would have panic attacks each lesson. With Steve, I only had one out of all the lessons I had! If you’re looking for an instructor who is truly good with someone with anxiety, Steve is the person to go to. He has a very calm nature and I particularly liked how he would check in every so often as the lesson went on to make sure I was comfortable and being able to manage the level of my anxiety. I wish I went to Steve sooner!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend 1st choice driving academy to anyone who is wanting to start their driving journey. Steve not only taught me a life skill to drive but also how to believe in myself. After having a car accident in the first couple of lessons I lost all confidence to drive and wanted to give up. Steve put endless amounts of effort in to build my confidence whilst being patient. We would have plenty of laughs during each our lessons and if I was ever unsure on anything he would adapt his teaching style to suit me. I couldn’t be more pleased for passing first time. Fantastic experience: I am not a very confident person and certainly driving often made me quite anxious. Steve was my second driving instructor and he put me at ease and was always extremely calm , even when I wasn't. He was very encouraging and always seemed to say the right thing at the right time - I think you need this in a driving instructor and I would recommend him without hesitation. I feel fully prepared to drive independently now having passed my test thanks to Steve.
